After a slow start, this really got going twenty mins in I thought. Best Pirates since Black Pearl.

These films have to be the most harshly criticized series ever. What is it about great scripts, acting and effects some people don't like? This had none of the pretension that was starting to get a bit irksome in Pirates 2/3, was genuinely exciting, and erotic and comedic in healthy measure.

For me, On Stranger Tides follows close on the heels of the cinematic near perfection that was Pirates1.

PotC used to be a great adventure guiding me since my childhood, every time changing and meaning different things while I watched it. But the following 3 parts disappointed me. Jack Sparrow was, in the first part, a legend and has now turned into a clown,a meaningless figure, just someone to laugh about,although there are -sometimes-moments when you see the old Jack through the veil of the character`s new interpretation.

But,nevertheless, I think PotC will always be the echo of old adventures...
