Evo's are born in rallying, you can corner them as far as your guts allow it. I had learned to drive in a E46 330 torbo-diesel, its a goot sportscar, steers sharp, brakes sharp and stays on the road well. As long as you hold off the throttle in corners esspecially when the road is slippery. Evos you can steer even if you brake traction, which is a hard thing to do

The stroked motor is whats killing the Evo up top IMO based off this video. A built 2.0 is the choice for top end racing while the 2.3's and 2.4's are more for the bottom end and quick spool. Hard to believe that M5 is stock though, my EVO 8 only has 489 hp at the wheels and I have had no problems running away from those cars. I'm wingless though and still have the stock gears.
no its not a 2 stroke, its got a stroker kit to raise the capacity of the engine. the m5 has ust over 500, it weighs more but had more torque its should waste the evo top end, it can do over 200mph, the evo cant with that much bhp even, sure its not an m3? 500kg extra but so much torque and the turbo time on the evo would be huge to build it up and off it goes plus 4 wheel drive would slow top end down
evo very likely has higher torque figures (probably in the 650-700 Nm region), but also has higher transmission losses, and at higher speeds aerodynamics matter more than weight. 636 hp evo with no wings and high gearing could probably do 200 mph too.
that evo would have shat on that m5 even more if it had longer gearing. and id say that evo has more torque than that m5. but in saying that we dnt really know if the m5 has mods aswell.

im an evo6 owner too and I doubt that this evo has 636HP. Mine has only 426 and can drag an M5 just like this. The evo 6 is 1370 kgs while the M5 is 1880. So 426 HP accelerates the evo better then 500 does the M5. With 636 the evo should have warped after start not just slowly pull as we saw.

if the modification is complete,not just a bigger turbo and an ecu, it won't...it has been proven that the evo's engine(4g63) is one of the most capable engines in terms of tuning..

i live in the age 2010 where toyota honda lexus mazda nissan and mitsubishi lead all the boards in every single survey about reliability and quality..and the bmw m6 is a car made in the year 2007..all the jap tuning cars are all cars of the past decade..i;d really like to see some tuned german cars of the past decade...but guess what?!! they didn;s last this long...not even 100000 miles..oh and if you wann some reall japanese muscle..nissan gt-r..HALF the price of a porsche but quicker..

The stroked motor is whats killing the Evo up top IMO based off this video. A built 2.0 is the choice for top end racing while the 2.3's and 2.4's are more for the bottom end and quick spool. Hard to believe that M5 is stock though, my EVO 8 only has 489 hp at the wheels and I have had no problems running away from those cars. I'm wingless though and still have the stock gears.

no its not a 2 stroke, its got a stroker kit to raise the capacity of the engine. the m5 has ust over 500, it weighs more but had more torque its should waste the evo top end, it can do over 200mph, the evo cant with that much bhp even, sure its not an m3? 500kg extra but so much torque and the turbo time on the evo would be huge to build it up and off it goes plus 4 wheel drive would slow top end down

evo very likely has higher torque figures (probably in the 650-700 Nm region), but also has higher transmission losses, and at higher speeds aerodynamics matter more than weight. 636 hp evo with no wings and high gearing could probably do 200 mph too.

@kay19833 There is more technology in an EVO than an M5...Have you ever heard of active yaw control??? Also around a race track that EVO would rape the M5 by many seconds per lap. At the Topgear testtrack in 2005 a Mitsubishi EVO8 MR FQ320(1.26min) beat the M5 (1.26.20)

I have an EVO IX, there is no way thats a 600+HP... The M5 has way more on the top end though. An evo is more like a brick going through the air and more made for out cornering most cars in dirt and snow.

im an evo6 owner too and I doubt that this evo has 636HP. Mine has only 426 and can drag an M5 just like this. The evo 6 is 1370 kgs while the M5 is 1880. So 426 HP accelerates the evo better then 500 does the M5. With 636 the evo should have warped after start not just slowly pull as we saw.
