This is one of my all time favorite movies. It is loaded with symbolism. From the lead character, Justin Playfair to the shadow on his face in the shape of a cross in the supermarket cooler scene. Everytime I see it I find more little sybolic meanings and learn a new lesson.
As a Steampunk enthusiast, I can say that I as well would love to find this show to pass on to friends. Right now it is on the PVR, but even that will be deleted after a few days.
While it's great if you can download or get this movie on Netflix --if you can get the Anchor Bay dvd release of this movie, by all means get it. It has a wonderful commentary by director Anthony Harvey.
This clip and farmerne's reply promted me to try one more time to find a copy of this movie. I found "MovieTorch". They work mostly in the motion pictrure industry, I was told, but can get copies of hard to get movies for around $50. each. It's cheaper then the $75. VHS tape that was on Amazon a while back. I am on SS and money is TIGHT but I am seriously thinking of going for it. Thats how much I'd love to see this movie again.
wow thanks for poasting this, watched it late on tv one night years ago, didnt know the name til not long ago but cant seam to find it on dvd. glad others like it too!!
Younger people may find this hard to believe, but once upon a time there was a film industry that produced real movies. Movies with stories that moved you, provoked you, and gave you genuine tears and/or laughter. When movies were made because the concept was daring or even unpopular. Before the "marketing boys" took over and turned movies into "targeted market-research commodities".
I liked the movie as well, despite it getting messy it's really one of those go with the flow cult classics. The scene that was cut and readded (the supermarket scene) I wish I could find online.
The band They Might Be Giants sent me here. Now I want to see this movie! It looks good. :)

check your local library for free dvd. The bigger the branch, the more likely they'll carry it

@Surreal11Hobbes I've had "They Might Be Giants" in my Netflix Q for years. They keep saying "Release Date Unknow" so Netflix is no good.

I've looked everywhere for this movie. No one has it. NO ONE.

@pampsm6 Thanks for the comment. I am going to try to post more clips of this movie shortly.
Meanwhile, you can console yourself that you can get "High School Musical 3---The EXTENDED Edition" virtually anywhere.
Really shows how the movie industry had declined since the 70's.

@pampsm6 I just looked and I guess the DVD is out of print because the copies on Amazon are not cheap.
