  • Still not as smart as Scots Regiments behind Pipe Bans! :O)

  • I'll bet a lot of Russians are really impressed.

  • @TaliskerLaphroaig

As a matter of fact, the Prussian military tradition started to impact the Russian Imperial Army as early as the 1700's. There were many years in the 18th and 19th centuries, when Russia and a number of German states, such as Prussia -- and later united Germany -- were on friendly terms. There are Russians who respect Germany's military. It is possible that GERMANY and RUSSIA would be allies in WORLD WAR THREE. Hopefully, of course, there won't be such a global conflict.

    Well done chillians!!!

    Respekt!!!

    greets from swabia, germany

  • VIVA CHILE !!!

    Bravo !!!

  • @Ecoman365 In some ways, the Austro-Hungarian Empire is the basis of many traditions, these traditions came to Chile since 1889.

  • @PATAGONIALOOP

The CHILEANS are the "Prussians" of South America!

The BULGARIANS are the "Prussians" of the Balkans (Southeastern Europe)!

The Prussian military tradition -- combined with the Russian one -- has been very strong in Bulgaria since 1878.

    Long live the CHILEAN--BULGARIAN friendship!

    Saludos, AMIGOS CHILENOS!

  • @Ecoman365 Long live the CHILEAN--BULGARIAN...Saludos de Chile....!

  • glad to see chile march to the german spirit!

  • That helmet design and manufacturing process was and is superior to all others past and present. The process developed by Germany enabled uniform thickness covering the entire helmet. Others copied and had very thin spot on the top making the wearer unprotected against air blast artillery and rifle fire when laying face down. The US ARMY uses the same design with the addition of Kevlar and newer metals.

  • Who would ever think that a nation is South America would one day 'out German, the Germans'???!!!! Germany Awake!!

  • german sounds in chile ?

  • @GERMANY3107 Tja, wir haben halt doch noch Kolonien ^^ ;)

  • the Deutschmeister regiment had nothing to do with Prussia - it was part of the Austrian Hungarian Monarchy's army

  • these guys are keeping up a lot of german military traditions which are here lost or banned after ww2 and the nazi time. but especially the marches are the same as in the german army.. very nice , greetings from cologne ;)

  • @kroq2 Chilean army was trained by prussians instructors since 1886.

  • Almost like the Wehrmacht. But just almost.

    How ever, great!

  • PROUD TO BE CHILEAN!!

  • @FritzenCH

and i´m proud to be from prussia

  • @kamikaze4607 how old are you?

  • Man.... I'd feel so badass if i was one of them :O

  • in all honesty i think chile is more of a germany now

  • ¡Emocionante!

  • WoW Chile will surely conquer the whole South-America if a war breaks out there some day.

    Dat helmet.

  • @Ruostenyrkki

    Dat helmet.

  • Ahí van los infantes de bronce

    fuego artilleros de hierro

y al viento sus sables y lanzas

    a la carga ...

los jinetes de plata! transalation: there go the bronze infantrymen, iron artillery fire, and waving their sabres and spears...charching! the silver knights!!

part of the chilean's army hymn "Los Viejos Estandartes" (the ancient banners)

  • Germany will again revive the proud Prussian military traditions she once espoused. Professionalism, pride, honor and tradition are not dead in Germany. These things are merely dormant but will again rise to the surface. I am proud to see them being carried on by the Chilean military! The German soldier was and is one of the best fighting forces in the world and the Chilean soldiers, airmen, sailors and other fighting forces join those ranks of professionalism, pride and marital skills.

  • @ZeitgeistWI I don't think so. The state of Prussia was dissolved by the Americans and British due to its military might and control of the rest of Germany. The territory of Prussia was given to the Poles or Russians and the Prussians had to move to other German territories (with different cultures) which were not annexed by surrounding countries. So I think there is no real Prussian culture anymore.

  • Now this is what army should look and march like!

  • @preztax The Bundeswehr should still be doing this. I have no doubt that Germany would revive its own marching tradition with time. I'm no expert but I'd assume that they maintain a more passive, boring, march to make the military seem less threatening and goose stepping is, for many of the older generation, a strong reminder of a Nazi past. Honestly though, as I'm sure you already know, it has nothing to do with the fucking Nazi regime, but with Prussian military tradition. Screw walking.

Viva Chile!!

  • So nice to see prussian traditions marching on in Chile, while they are banned in germany. Fucking allies(the UK the most), it was not enough to destroy germany and split it up, they even banned our traditions.

Be proud of yourself Chilean Soldier and march on =) maybe will the german and chileans march on the same parade one day in the same tradition *thumb up*

  • @SHIZZLOR I´m sure that this will happens some day. Is horrible what the "allies" did in Germany. In this Germany, this sacred land that one day decided fight against the devil. I salute you brother SH

  • Always loved going to Chile, glad to see they keep their proud military traditions alive.

  • Viva Chile!!!

  • Great to see the Prussian military tradition continued. A Prussian, von Steuben, drilled our ragged army at Valley Forge under the great Gen. Washington.

  • Why is goose stepping still alive and well in the 21st century ? It should have ended with the defeat of the Nazis. It clearly has fascist undertones.

  • @volumex2000 Cry me a river, Weichei...

  • @volumex2000 Ignorant.

  • @volumex2000 The origins of the goose step are not nazi...

this step was used in Prussia since 1700 ad after it was introduced in Chile in the second half of the nineteenth century. If you are an IGNORANT , study instead of filling youtube with your shit!

  • @volumex2000

If it has fascist undertones, someone should tell the Chinese Peoples Liberation Army.

  • is a prussian march see the name of the video

  • World seems to love german military marches. Greetz from Bavaria.^^

  • Nice ... the other Countrys Use our tradition...

    Nice to see .... i'm a german ;)

    Greeting

  • Echte deutsche Disziplin

    (Genuine German discipline)

  • Good to see the Prussian military tradition live on!

  • Prussian style!!!

    great!

    i love it

    greetz from German/ Prussia

  • so great! f**k of the style of the bundeswehr, chile ftw! greets from germany

  • Puro poder, disciplina, y elegancia!

    Prussian style FTW!

  • They look great! That is a very difficult march step to master, that's the reason so few nations use it, but it shows discipline, this army..or at the very least those on parade itself have spent a great deal of time mastering their drill ceremonies. And guys...please quit with the labeling...this is Chile in 1998...Not Nuremburg in 1938, many nations adopt marches and drills from other nations...I view it more of a tribute to the march itself and has nothing to do with where they got it from.

  • @then1ce Poor ignorant. Learn a little, and then speak.

  • lol this is great

  • i wish we would have military parades here in germany. but the fuckin nazis destroyed the image of my country in the rest of the world and the image of our military for our people -.-

  • @Sicklehead88 ain't that a shame?damn nazis...as far as I concern, Chile is the last country to have the prussian style in their armed forces, I don't know if there are other countries with the same style

  • @IVEGOTAHARDONBEER Well, countries like Ecuador, Bolivia and Venezuela recieved chilean instructors years after the prussians came to Chile. They use now that style.

  • @SudPreussen Ecuador, Colombia and El Salvador recived chilean instructors

  • @elbucalemuchile Gracias por correjir.

  • @Sicklehead88 Yes,Fucking nazis !

    Lang Lebe Deutschland ! ;)

    From France.

  • @Sicklehead88 The fucking nazis as you say is the best that Germany ever has. The problem is that you has been brainwashed of those who won the war. They writed the history after the war. You should be angry against the allies. The divided your country and still try to corrupt Germany

  • don't mess with chile!^^

    very well done

    saludos y Viva Chile

  • GRAIA

  • Even racially they look like Germans.

  • @tbg0o they don't!!!

  • grande es el ejercito de chile

  • Comment removed

  • wtf? lol do they use ww2 german helmet? (looks like a modified variant).. i bet they kickass every other country in southamerica :D Prussian style ftw...

  • @god4488 Lol!!! They use the Stahlhelm and the Stechchritt to scare the russians in case they ever thought about invading! :-)

  • @god4488

It looks this way because it actually is a German helmet from ww2. Beside the signs on it, there is no modification, it is the M35 version, used by the Wehrmacht and SS until 1942 and later on replaced by the more famous M42 (maybe that's why you think there is some modification on it).

Chile's Army draws on German military tradition, because German instructors were sent to Chile to help them build up their army. The Goosestep and "prussian glory"-march are some of these traditions.

  • @god4488

that helmets are only for the parade

  • @god4488 because its a good design...

  • @god4488 Germany/Prussia and Chile had good relations in the past and until 1945 german army officers trained the Army of Chile... so they have many many german traditions... the helmets as well as the german march-music you hear (Prussians Gloria)... seems in Chile the german army traditions lived longer than in germany itself... hehe

  • @god4488 The power in South America is Brasil. Chile has no real miltiary tradition unless you want to count the great War on the Chilean people.

  • @god4488 most of chileans have german ancestors

  • @god4488 Because lots of the Nazis bolted the Chile and Argentina after WW2 and the two countrys greeted them. In that way those old traditions came to South America. It isn't always easy to set prussian tradition from nazi megalomania.

    Sorry for my bad English!

  • @Beggi01 You are completely wrong. Chilean army adopted prussian system in 1886.

  • @Beggi01 wrong! We received Prussian military instructors in 1886. German inmigrants have arrived here since the 1850's way before the nazis ever existed.

  • @Beggi01 if you know something does not think or talk about it, the Prussian tradition was introduced in the Chilean army by Emilio Körner German officer in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century

"Paso regular, mar...!"
