Simple steps for those who can't remove I had same prob. Just use the hooks like a lever to remove the pins(dun blame me if breaks or damages barrel. Worked for me)

I was able to successfully do this mod. Thank you for the easy instructions. I did have to go back and make sure the pin/steel rod was flush, otherwise my barrel needed to be depressed to be put back in after reloading.

I'd say it gives the Maverick a 10 - 20% boost in power. They hit harder, but I didn't notice any further distance.

@halothreeaka3 They regulate the air flow from the plunger that provides the thrust that shoot the dart. ( By regulate in this case it slows it down so that it evenly distributes the air over a longer period of time. )

By removing them you are making them discharge their air instantly, thus providing must thrust per shot.

There is nothing wrong with this guide, however it does not point out several places where springs and parts can easily go missing/flying out.

If your maverick no longer works, chances are you re-assembled it wrong or lost a part.

P.S. the gun shoots, but the barrel keeps moving so sometimes i shoot a blank and the barrel wont come out all the way, i think this is because of the rod and spring in the middle of the barrel, what is your opinion?

When you were opening/closing the gun, some part of the firing mechanism (a spring, the plunger, etc.) got out of place. Try opening it back up, and gently push down all the springs and realign the plunger.

My problem is that when i removed the air restrictors and made sure the pressure compartment was snug against the barrel the gun is now shooting a shorter distance then my stock maverick. Any ideas would be appreciated.

i did the air restrictor mod and i can tell that im deffinetly getting more air flow, but. It is now shooting surprisingly less than the stock distance. i tried it with two different mavericks and the same things happened to both. i messed around with them a little and found that when i push the barrel towards the back of the gun when i shoot i gain TONS of distance. It must have to do with the center bar you remove from the barrel, is there some way i can get the barrel completely snug again???

Okay, I had the same problem with the loud noise and no shooting, but I went back in and made sure that the air plunger was literally touching the back of the cylinder. I also put some pennies in the back of the spring so the plunger could touch the cylinder and the spring could touch the back. The gun totally works now, so...ya.
