My brother went as a mechanic for the Norwegian F2 team to the Arab Emirates / Saudi two years ago. Apparently it's still (even with this man's proclaimed safety things installed) considered THE most dangerous sport in the world - because when you crash (and you do crash sometimes, it's unavoidable) the boat (hydroplane) is smashed to pieces and sinks, and you're stuck.

The guy driving is Billy Seebold. Nobody has won more races in any form of motorsports than he has. Over 900 wins worldwide! He is a legend in tunnelboat racing. He is also in the motorsports hall of fame. The regular raceboats, the ones with only the driver, can reach speeds of 140-150 mph. they prbably topped out at 110. Check out champboat or apba websites. They are awesome to see.

Well I would have had a lower prop, he's wasting a load of power spewing water up into the air.

the reason it's like that is to keep the nose up, the less surface you have draggin in the water the faster you can go, also the prop is close to the surface so thats why you see such a big roost, you are probably thinking of a stern drive
