Absolsutely - Pick was perfect for Knopfler. I always felt his studio work had a live feel, yet at the same time managed to be quite seamless. Tunnel of Love being the perfect example. DS were never the same once Terry Williams was in.
I couldn't agree more, he was the perfect drummer for Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits were never as good after he left. I've searched the net but can't find anything about what he's doing now.
I remember seeing this such a long time ago, Thanks for uploading this. That was the ultimate band, with Brother David there also.

Pick was more jazzy; Williams was more 'American' in the sense of a big wide sound.
Anyway, Withers left the Straits. What were MK and JI gonna do, give up in '82?
Terry Williams brought in a lot of power to DS and played "Telegraph Road" the way it should've been. Even MK said that.

@El135o Pick contributed so much to settle down the DS sound and style.

Pick Withers is still my favourite drummer. A very sensitive player with a very distinctive Paiste cymbal sound. I wish I knew what he does today.
