i first heard this about 15 years ago on a bargain-bin cassette tape sampler of EG Records' artists.. the tape was called 'Angels in the Architecture'. the version of this song on that tape was different - it had a different ending - a more cacophonous and abrupt ending.
This one of my favourite pieces of music. It's quite hard not to cry when I hear it. It's so fragile and powerful at the same time. Thank you Simon Jeffes, you changed the way I think and feel about music.
Currently completing the last semester for my degree and PCO is what got me through it all, thank you Simon Jeffes, what brilliant contemplative music! This truly is music in it's finest form. Thanks for posting, this is one of my favourites.
that's true, it´s the sound of someone u love..... I know because someone I loved was going away and it didn't matter because at that time I was really fucked up.
@MikeSOTB you´re right. All my fault. I could only upload 10 minutes so i edit the song and extract the "going away" part. I superb part if i might say! Sy
I just stepped away from my computer for a few minutes to get a drink, and when I came back the title of this song was typed into the search bar on firefox. I had completely forgotten about this band, let alone this song. It was a weird, beautiful thing.
This was, for a long time, my lsd comedown soundtrack(The whole MFTPCO album.) A very unique, slightly psychadelic, soothing blend of chamber orchestra and lo-key jazz. I don't do the drugs anymore but this still relaxes/ touches me in a way I struggle to define.
This song just makes my feelings all come out, makes me think.
I listen to this song when I'm writing a sorrowful piece because it makes me write it with so much more feeling. It makes it beautiful, like the writing itself is shedding tears.
The albumn sweetly balances bipolar shifts, offering "Chartered Flight" as an antidote to this piece; the song with "From a complete outfit for a double suicide..." comes with "Milk"...
One of my all-time favourite pieces of music. Love this stuff.

My favorite by PCO...
love their more rhythmic songs as well, but this one just tears the breath out of me each time I hear it. Just exquisite.

I cannot get over the beauty of this song. There are no words, yet it says so much.

@j1mm1nycr1cket same for me. Loved PCO and all their work since about 1989 when I caught a concert on, of all places, the BBC!

So sad and beautiful it makes me cry. Makes me think of G who's gone so far away (or rather is so far gone) but it does matter.

Such a sad title that must to refer to the end of an affair or a relationship. Lovely music and all that, but very sad.

Thanks for this. The track is really gorgeous and emotionally harrowing. It's a deceptively simple theme but so effective.
