My daughter suffered a serotonin toxicity seizure a day after beginning Luvox (fluvoxamine), with convulsive thrashing and uncontrollable spitting. Her physician prescribed it to replace Prozac, with only a day between the two prescriptions, so she still had plenty of Prozac in her system on top of the Luvox.
My Psychiatrist diagnosed me with seretonin syndrome and sent me an official apology letter. They discontinued my SSRI medication and now when I've taken any new drug they call me every day for the first 2 weeks to see how the drug's working. Sadly my GP was the person who told me it was safe to take Triptam at the same time which is what caused the problem in the first place. My psych also sent a letter to him education him on seretonin syndrome.

It was horrible and scarey...However, living alone, it was not until i spoke with a friend on the phone who could tell something was wrong with me that I was convinced I needed to seek medical help. Mine was a reaction of welbutrin and Robitussin (dextromethophan). I did not know how serious it was. I was hearing voices, seeing things, shaking, burning up, i was manic majorly.
i had the same thing the other day of dxm alone..not alot really only 375mg i was so hot it was crazy my eyes were rollling in my head my legs were shaking..
I got this and almost died. I started seizing, I was taking amatryptline with something else and thats what caused mine.

NEVER take effexor and tramadol together....
