  • In Russia the airplane drives you .

  • What a pretty little jet!

  • they did it! again

  • russian aircrafts were ever and are very good, high rate fly/accident...the problem is in the field maintenance crews of the ex-communist area..but now the things are going better,,,

  • man, thats one ugly plane.

  • I bet your face is uglier.

  • Generally Rusias aircraft industry has not been sucefull outside the CIS. But this aircraft look like it could be a breakthrough, it looks slim, neat and efficient. The engines are quite. I think we could be seeeing a few of these aircraft in european skies. Well done Rusia

  • I believe the engines developed by Snecma (France)

  • It is joint venture with NTO Saturn, Russian manufacturer and Safran (France).

  • Sorry, NPO Saturn

  • why?it's russian jet and engines by russian.we also have the engine of new generation, but we hav't money for build it

  • Listen, USA and Russia ARE NOT ENEMIES !

  • Yes!

    I love Russian aircraft!

  • I Like Russian Aircraft as well!

  • Beautiful jet plane!!! What kind of engines does it have? Built in USSR?

  • Engine developed by Swiss and Italian cooperation. Seems Malev (Hungarian flight company) will by the first jets.

  • Why wouldn't you think America went to the moon? It's not like you're solving an X-file here... Better still, wait for another 10 or so years for another visit, and when they cast it live in Russia, like they did here in the 60's, then you'll see that flag still standing there...

Oh and what's up with you guys planting a flag on the Arctic ocean floor??? If you want to play that game... Then the moon is the USA's...

  • And Russian aerospace industry is groowing rapidly !

  • Wow, I am impressed. Ivan has finally built a 737.

  • You meen ignorant sub-humain american scumbag !

737 and 747 are the worst and the most low-quality airplane jets that has ever been produced on this planet !

They are falling down from sky allmost every month !

  • Seems 737's and 747's only fall from the sky when they are owned and operated by underdeveloped places like Russia and Africa.Nothing will continue to fly if it isn't poperly maintained, not even Russian iron.

  • Russia and other countries uses even 50 years old Soviet planes, whille "US technological superiority" fall down from the skies allmost every day !

  • And just how long has the B-52 been flying, or the DC-3? Lay off the vodka comrade and get a grip on reality, not commie propaganda.

  • Yes, becouse B-52 it was made from good quality materials and engeniring...and it was made for amry !

whille 737 and 747 are low-quality products...made for mass production, buying new spare parts and license production (with technology transfer) to the third world countries !

  • Boeing has more high time airplanes flying today than the Soviet Union has ever built. Unfortunately some that are used in the third world aren't maintained properly.Kallita Air's 747 that abborted and crashed had maintenence issues. Like I said before if you don't maintaine them expect problems.

  • look you ungulate american imbecile !

You are too patriotic and idiotic at the same time to accept the truth about reality

USSR was the leader in aerospace industry !

  • Americans didnt put man on the moon !

    It was extrem hoax !

  • You have just lost all credibilty with me and anyone else who may read your comments.

  • I cut thorats to american pigs !

  • The Soviets... AHEAD IN SPACE. And probably Russians still are.

  • Last time I looked I didn't see a Russian flag on the moon.

  • Klesmer, well, US had an amazing technology in 1969. They were able to build a mission Moon 7 years after the first man in space, and now almost 40 years later it will take 20 years to prepare for another flight to Moon. Hmmm, Interesting. I also like the flag that was moving, in a place with no atmosphere. Nice touch

  • Uhh, I think it's called sympathetic vibration. Because of the moon's low gravity and lack of atmosphere any thing put into motion tends to wiggle for a long time. NASA explaind this in great detail. Due to the economic climate in the world today it may take a conjoined effort of Russia,China and the US to get any thing done as far as going back to the moon and beyond.

  • Americans arrived to the Moon???... Really???

  • You are a moron. Crawl back under your pile of shit and go back to sleep.

  • If a 78 seat regional jet has been described as "the most important and successful civil aircraft program of the Russian aerospace industry" (by Russia & CIS Observer, Volume 2, Issue 25, 20 June 2009), then I'm going to call bullshit on Russia being a "leader in aerospace industry", even if it was in a Russia that fell to crap 20 years ago.

  • Besides that...it looks to be an almost exact copy of the Embraer 170/190 line...which started flying 8 years ago...and have much higher takeoff weight, better performance, and...strangely enough...almost the exact same specifications. Amazing that the Russians copied it so well...

  • at last!!!

  • Sukhoi is investing euro 2 billion in a factory in Nagpur,India to build this plane for Indian ans other asian markets :) GO Russia!!!!

  • that's one good lookin' jet!

  • I think Icelandair placed orders for this plane

  • Красава!

  • Congrats. Good rival for Embraer (southamerican pride"

  • Beautiful airplane! I would love to fly on one if Delta, American, or Hawaiian ever decided to add some to their fleets. For those not familiar with Russian, could someone post a translation of what the pilot and executive were saying in the interviews at the end. I'd be very interested to find out. Loved the pilot tossing at the end! Truly glorious day for the Russian aerospace industry! Here's to more competition for Boeing and Airbus.

  • Pilot: Im happy. I am very satisfied with today and with the plane. I would like to thank everybody who worked and supported us all these years.

CEO: Its just the beginning. Today is a (happy? cheerful?) day and its been a long road. Some people wish this was easier but its very hard work. Today we began our first step towrds the certification of this plane and i am sure everything will work out

  • Thank you for the translation. Designing and build an airplane from scratch is far from easy and I'm very glad Russia has a new jet to call their own. Fly high. Fly far... Sukhoi!

  • Have they released any specs (dimensions, empty and max gross weights, payload, range etc)?

  • AN225 is Ukrainian btw but yeah

  • yes but Ukraine = CCCP man don't forget that

  • An225 is as Ukranian as Baikonour is Kazakh... Back then it was USSR. When Ukraine has their own jets, designed after 1991 then we'll talk. 'Till then it's Soviet.

  • Superb!!! Congrats!

The Russians are back!!!.... tired of looking at the Ilyushins... except the AN225 :)

  • Looks like a nice aircraft, really jumps up on takeoff. Probably because it was empty... Not the nicest landing though.

  • the speed of landing was excessive

  • Very little flap extended - probably mandated by the mission profile. I would be speculating to guess why...

  • Congrats to Sukhoi and Russia.

  • congratulations russia.may your civil aviation industry rise again like a phoenix.

    India russia friends forever :)

  • Love Sukhoi.

But why so few people cheering?

    it's a big moment.

  • Bravo Sukhoi!

  • The best video in my life! Go Sukhoi!

  • The best!!! Sukhoi Forever!!!
