This concert was AMAZING, this song is even more AMAZING!!! Her conviction, and Emotion are untouchable! "How Great Thou Art" was a song that touches deep in my heart. It was sung at my Fathers Funeral in 2004. I still get goose bumps as her voice so beautifully bellows this song! I Love Carrie, and thank you for posting this video! Great Quality
In a million years, not Shania nor Martina, nor Miranda, nor Reba nor Dolly, certainly not Taylor; or even the non-country divas : not Xtina, nor Beyonce, nor Celine Dion, nor Jeniffer Hudson, not Kelly Clarkson nor Rihanna, not Katy Perry, nor Lady GaGa, not Jessie J, not even Mariah, NO ONE WILL EVER MATCH THIS AMAZING PURE TALENT.
This video is a brilliant example why.
Thumbs this up, and copy paste to other Carrie Marie Underwood videos if you agree.
@CMUfanenglishfreak be able to appreciate music in all faiths... jennifer hudson can put the smackdown on this performance. jhud is the real deal and i love carrie.
Enough with the religious crap. Point blank, this performance rivals the likes of Whitney & Celine. Carrie is groundbreaking live. If you haven't seen her live, it needs to be on your bucket list. I've never heard someone sound better live than on CD. She got the 2nd longest standing ovation at the CMA Fest this year from this performance (1st was Martina McBride's "Anyway" -- that was f'ing incredible), and it's a shame that it wasn't broadcast. Not for religion, but for the performance itself.
You have to be seriously stupid if you don't recognize this as amazing singing. At least just admit you don't like Carrie and move on, you make youself look more like an imbecile trying to say this is just an okay performance.

Oh I am OH SO SURE that's it's ANTI FUCKING CHRISTIAN to not show this. *shakes head*
it'd be like me saying Prince Poppycock lost AGT because he's gay.
You guys realize that christianity is the most widely accepted... Idea, for lack of a better word, in the entire world. Get over yourselves and stop acting like it's so hard to belong to your faith. It's not. Shut up.
What an angelic performance. She expresses the holiness of everyday life. Too bad ABC decided Americans didn't need to see this. Boo to ABC...and blessings to Carrie.
I'm not a Christian, I'm a muslim.. But I LOVE listening to her singing this. The conviction when she sings just gives me goosebumps... I respect her so much for not shying away from singing about her faith. Two BEAUTIFUL songs sung by a beautiful woman. Amazing performance!
@SparklestheClown I KNOW!! its probably because it was "Godly." do that not know that the United States of America is based on God? "one nation, under GOD." come on ABC!
This was IMMACULATE! And even better live. It was such an excited performance. Her and Martina McBride got the biggest standing ovations. Her's was for this and Temporary Home.
i really really really hope they air this on the broadcast next month. i was there and have NEVER heard someone sing amazingly as she did that night. my friend and i were in awe
Carrie I don't know what to say! A great heart, founded in her faith and convictions and a sincere desire to reach out not only to her fan base but also to those who write songs that voices will never share, you just can't help but be moved by her stupefying rendition of How Great Thou Art! She brought down the house with emotion and the sort of vocal prowess that is rarely witnessed in a concert!
@jthecableguy I would be very careful about calling Carrie a "good" singer. She is so much more than just a good singer, in my book and in those of a million other fans she is the ULTIMATE singer! A good singer is a term I would most likely have used to describe Rihanna, but Carrie transcends everything and everyone that is good, she isn't evena good person for she is the ultimate kindness personified!

Not a troll, and not a douchebag. Just sick of people freaking the fuck out because something didn't get broadcast.
And no, this most certainly wasn't her greatest performance, and most certainly wasn't *honestly* that good. I've heard much better.

Whatever your mommy and daddy give you from that orange bottle with no label, you always have the power to say NO to them.
Get off the drugs and open your ears. This is a fantastic vocal.

Boo-hoo. It didn't get shown. Suck it up. Do you have any idea how much TV time she gets? A lot.
Wasn't that great of a performance.

Gee, wonder why the network cut this? Could they have an anti-Christian bias? Nah, must be my imagination.
Wish the people hadn't been whooping like that, I would rather listen to the singer.

Too sad ABC chose to keep this from the Fest on TV - left leanings showing as usual from the mainstream media!
