i really like the fire engines and i respect them for creating such amazing music but i personally like this version more

how can anyone say this is better than the original? i mean, i like franz ferdinand a lot, and ive only heard one fire engines song (this, funnily enough). but its clear the fire engines were aiming at something a wee bit different to what franz were aiming at. punk, not pop. both are fine and can both be incredible. although i think this is actually worse because its live, my opinion!

@louiecostello At the time FF played this they were as much post-punk as the fire engines. Actually there original squatter attitude was very much like the fire engines. It's a shame they didn't know how to handle the post-punk hype well and they started to make different music because they don't want to conform to anything.
