@66kcmiller There actually was a japan only add on for the n64, it was called the n64dd. It attatched to the bottom of the console and had a second slot. There were a few amount of games that used it to bypass the limited memory on the n64 cartridges by themselves. It was pretty much a failure however and only a few games were released using the add on.
