  • She read so bad that it sounds like chinesse language...

  • "suntem departe una de alta dar niciodata destul de departe incat sa uitam " - It's all I could understand ;;) Well, that's a start :))

  • pfuoa nooo

  • huhh, what?!?!?! o_O

  • You need to role that "R" just like in Italian. Actually if you know Italian you will learn very fast Romanian.

  • @gogoasacenusie Will knowing Spanish help you learn Romanian?

  • @potterfangirl91 , definetely it will help, but Romanian is much closer too Italian ( over 77% lexical similarity ) and even closer to some Central and Southern Italian dialects.

  • @gogoasacenusie Thanks! I really want to learn both Italian and Romanian after I master Spanish. Would you suggest learning Italian next and then Romanian?

  • @potterfangirl91 italian is a little bit easy to learn... but romanian... gosh... i`m a romanian girl... so i suggest you to learn italian first...

  • @aleksamarie Thanks. Learning Italian should not be that bad since it is very close to Spanish. Thank you for the pointer. Romanian just seems like such a cool language.

  • sunt roman and i didnt understand anythingggg haha gotta roll the Rs

  • I'M ROMANIAN AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND A SHIT !!!

  • "sa uitam" it was the only romanian word in that text and i know that because i`m romanian

  • Why does she try to read in romanian? lol

  • i have 5 cousins born all in america. native language = english. still they speak perfect romanian :)

  • What the hell ! You are cute but work harder. We can speak your language. :)

  • doamne fereste :)

  • lol

  • @AndreiSfirleaDragomi

Nu, citeste intr-adevar in romana... am ascultat de vreo 3 ori, si cel putin dupa 0:12 am inteles ca zice "niciodata destul de departe incat sa uitam".... Bine si atat!

  • aproape acolo

  • Keep trying :) I understand a little bit from what you say, but the problem is that you dont know to pronunce our accent, you read just like your read in english and it's a huge difference between this two languages. :P

    Good luck!

  • what??!? nici romana nu ii nici engleza

  • u suck

  • Ce?

  • n-am inteles nimic ,voi ati inteles?:) ...I didn't understand anything ,I'm Romanian ,but you're nice and beautiful and made me smile so it's not a problem . :P

  • am inteles ceva cu "sunutem departe una de alta, dar nu atat de departe incat sa ne uitam" sau ceva de genu =))

  • i dnt understand any of dat, ar u sure u were readin romanian like?

  • omg, what is this! LOL. i didnt understand one word.

  • ^_^ Nice try girl.. but you have to practice real hard to learn our language... but i liked it:P at least you tried

  • cum spui tu!

  • it's not a unknown fact that most of the anglophones suck at speaking a foreign language.this video proves it...

  • very very bad, too much accent. Romanian is a cursiv language, with almost no accent

  • @timisica Yeah... Too bad Hollywood producers simply think that romanians are the same with russians. So when you see a "romanian" character in a movie or a TV show, they'll mostly have an russian accent. And that pisses me off!!!

  • @Axelander9999 Huh, and we are the most latin country(and language) in the world! Anyway, communism seriously affected our language. 100 years ago we had such a clean language, almost like french. But USA and UK sold us in the WWII so...

    Anyway, payback time will come

  • @timisica ei da ce replica nationalista; nu exista grad de comapratie pentru latinitate; vrei sa zici cea mai asmenatoare limba cu limba latina? ei arsh... italiana se asmeana mult mai mult cu latina de exemplu; si nu am fost singurii care am fost vanduti urss-ului tot estul europei a fost.... si da, intradevar sa le fie rushine ca au facut asta dar... "payback time will come"? /:)

Episodul a aparut in 98-99! Nu exista nici o scuza!

  • @Axelander9999 atunci sa-mi bag (insert all known insults here) in ei de SOUTH PARK!!!!!

  • @timisica I've noticed speakers of etymological languages have trouble reading phonetic languages and speakers of phonetic languages have difficulty reading etymological languages;

  • @timisica ?! What..... No accent? Are you on crack haha.... Romanian has a very large accent, sir. If you are Romanian, you should know that... That is why many people have trouble learning it, because they can't get the accent right. It's similar to an Italian/Russian/French accent mixed together (if anyone can picture that somewhat), which makes it difficult to accomplish.

  • not even close

  • la cum pronunta romanii in engleza cu accentul romanesc este aceasi problema insa engleza este o limba foarte usoara pt auz si in mare parte banala pe langa romana cu gramatica :D aiaiai:))

  • A pronuntat fiecare litera in engleza.Asta a fost problema:)

  • la cum pronunta romanii in engleza cu accentul romanesc este aceasi problema insa engleza este o limba foarte usoara pt auz si in mare parte banala pe langa romana cu gramatica :D aiaiai:))

  • Si nu doar atat.Limba romana mai are niste regulil care nici ea nu le respecta:) imi pot imagina ce dificultati pot avea straini:D

  • huh?! what was that ? :)))

  • :)) Windows narrator would have done a better job

  • =)))))))))))))

  • Parca as fii eu la franceza:))

  • that's not romanian, she speaks like i speak penguin language

  • hahaaha... didnt understand at al but shes sweet

  • Sounds like chinese not like romanian :)))

  • good try :p

  • That's lol ;) , i didnt understand one single word. Try again ;)

  • you are quite nice for an american girl... :D

  • ce puii mei zice aia? sigur e romaneste?

  • este varianta basescu incercand vorbind engleza doar viceversa:))

  • it makes me laugh whenever i hear americans trying to speak our language , romanian. it sounds so funny! ^^ i bet we sound the same when we're trying to speak english! anyway good luck with the reading! :D

  • i doubt it, english is relativly an easy language, if it werent for some romanians with the accent, such as basescu XD in any case most romanian speaking english barrly at least it can be understood copering to the romanian language is kinda hard with its gramar...

  • lol I didnt understand anything and I am romanian! :)come visit Romania and stay here for a few months :)

  • can she repeat please?:))

  • It would be interesting if you actually posted the text she is reading...

  • read the description "My dear american friend trying to read something in romanian. just for kicks. "

  • except for "ce, ci, ghe, ghi, ă,â,ţ,ş"

  • Ugghhh, nu am inteles nici macar un cuvant, dar ii urez succes :). I didn't understood not even one word but i wish her to have succes in learning romanian language.

  • "ca intradevar, suntem departe una de alta, dar niciodata atat de departe incat sa uitam" is all i got from it too.

  • @SmeagolDoll I mean from what?

  • am inteles doar niciodata :))

  • Klingon?

  • Uhhh...I didn't understand a single word she sayd and I'm romanian...It sounded like an alien language :))

  • wooow...I'm a romanian...and what did u tried to read???...i couldn't understaind anyword :)):))...but it's a funny vid...thx

  • im romanan and i didnt understand a shit lol

  • I could not understand what you said, but if you would write it..I could definitely translate it for you.

  • if you said that to a romanian person he wouldnt understand anything ha ha

  • it takes a little natural ability to speak Romanian, also...I went to Romania with a page of little phrases and could speak well enough to be in town by myself in 2 weeks. It helps to be immersed in the culture and language...I love Romania and the people...rob/Franklin, TN, USA

  • Did she said "să uităm" at the end ? That was the only word that i could understand

  • bingo!

  • @SmeagolDoll oh, and the bay the way... what is she reading?

  • wtf...i don`t understand a damn thing she said...and i`m a romanian too :|

  • that's the point. she's not. native english speakers are not prone to reading as written

  • @SmeagolDoll exactly but how can we native romanian speakers can speak english even with the derived accents of the english language , and we know almost everything about every country in this whole world ...

  • @DeathNest94 ar putea si un american sa invete romana daca ar fi invatat!!! multi romani stiu engleza si putini americani stiu romana pentru ca engleza e o limba circulata, romana nu e!

  • @SmeagolDoll indeed, I noticed that; I also noticed the opposite; speakers of etymological languages have trouble reading phonetic languages and speakers of phonetic languages have difficulty reading etymological languages;

    use google translate... use the "listen function"... seems to me to be good enough for understanding how we pronounce things around here;

  • @gyugy20 uita'e in descriere ;)

  • ce zice ?

  • citeste o scrisoare... nu mai tin minte ce era pe ea.

  • Good thing she said what she was trying to read .. i wouldn't have guessed it else :))

  • it's exactly how's written for you.. she's not a native speaker.. She's used to speaking English, I guess.

  • haha thats how i sounded when i was 6 and learning to read Romanian :)

    keep trying ;P

  • wow

  • Damn, I didn't understand a word ... maybe because it's more like "Romenglish" haha

  • I am sorry but you read romanian in english lol. In romanian you read the words almost exactly the way they are written.I understand only few words and that's not good cause I am romanian.Anyway,I guess it was just for fun you dont really want to learn romanian.

  • nu inteleg nimic:)) eu cred ca ala e chineza sau asa ceva:))=))

  • lol, i think that is a normal first try on reading a romanian text. to read better, you must know the pronunciation

  • look guys,that's a glorious moment! she invented a new language -.-****

  • Haha at least you tried.

I think the problem was most romanian texts on the internet use plain english alphabet (they don't use the romanian "ăâîşţ"). So reading for a non-native speaker can become much harder.

  • AHAHAHAHA she's reading it like it's english xD

    Hilariousssss xDDD

  • sorry,that`s not even close!

  • Aia-i chineza fetitzao

  • What? :))

  • huh was that romanian? :|

  • don`t think so i guess she inventet a new way of reading and pronuncing in romanian =))

  • maybe if u practice more... we will understand all that u say... probably is 1st time reading that kind of stuff... try more... with hard work will see the progress :D

  • she was really bad

    it sounds like english retardet

  • thats not Romanian i cold not understand a word and im from Romania

  • nice but i can't understand ...

  • well i only understood: "departe una de alta" and "destul". Can't replay it: it's torture to my ears! :P

  • haha. for someone who has no clue of Romanian she wasnt THAT bad... :)

  • No, she's a disaster.

  • Haha, bad quality video maybe, can`t understand anything

  • she doesn't speak romanian :))

  • she tries to - i guess... but with a verrry strong english pronouncation.

  • Damn ! I know this language for 19 and some odd years, yet I can't understand a word ! - ..fascinating... :P

  • how does that work?

  • what he means is that you don't pronaunce the words correct because you lack ANY kind of accent, but keep working on it if you learn our languege you will be able to understand spanish and some italian.

  • That's right ... I've only been studying Romanian for two years but strangely find I can often understand Spanish more easily than the Romanian. Romanian is a beautiful language in the same way as Serbian chicks can be really hot.

  • well trust me if u get to know romanian you will get to know spanish,I can personally guarantee you that.I often plat online fps games and can unerstand evry single almost every single thing the spanish speakers are saying.Often if they are on the anamey team I translate what are they saying for my time so we can kick they'r asses:)

  • If you know of any places where I can learn in the company of others I'd like to know ... maybe email me if you do.

  • How about that, SmeagolDoll: "Când doi îţi spun că eşti beat, te duci şi te culci." An old Romanian saying.

  • i can give u some private lessons if u want

  • very baaaaddd

  • Funny, I thought it sounded like Japanese too :P

  • fail

  • Sounds like an erie form of Japanese ... damn English pronounciation :))

  • Totally butchered the text. :)
