That's hardly relevant though, as I was referring to the recent (as in since the election) rhetoric that the media has used to blame capitalism for our current woes, when in fact we never had it.

They mocked R.Paul and made every attempt to discredit him during the primaries. They have lost their credibility in my eyes - not that they ever really had any. Most people that are like us are savers, not spenders. I underconsume, because it just comes natural to me. It's not something I think about, I just do it. My wife, on the other hand, wants to spend money before we even have it. To me, I'd rather have money in the bank and not have to worry so much, then to piss money away on shit I don't really need or want that much. It pisses me off that my savings are being eroded, I underconsume so some asshole can splurge.
The truly sad thing is how many people actually believe that. They really thought they were doing the right thing by going shopping and going in debt. Nothing can destroy a person,household, city or a state, than debt.

That's hardly relevant though, as I was referring to the recent (as in since the election) rhetoric that the media has used to blame capitalism for our current woes, when in fact we never had it.

They mocked R.Paul and made every attempt to discredit him during the primaries. They have lost their credibility in my eyes - not that they ever really had any. I agree, R Paul is only now getting the respect he deserves on these issues. I don't like schmucks like Hannity etc jumping on the band wagon either. At least Fox gives a counter to MSNBC and the rest. When I was your age we had the three networks filtering the news through ONE liberal prism. All we had was some print media. The left hates Fox, Talk Radio and the internet because they don't have a monopoly on the reporting of the news anymore.

As much as I dread being associated with either party, as they are both broke and amoral, I think that for RP and Rand need to run as Repubs and not a 3rd party. Ron Paul has made the point several times that the deck is stacked against third party candidates. Even if you're Ross Perot, you have to spend most of your money just getting on the ballot.
If we're going to restore the republic, we're going to have to fix one or both of the major parties in the process.

Dr. Ron Paul is definitely the Patriarch of that family. Hopefully, Rand can one day run for President & achieve what his dad has always wanted for this country. Then one of his grandchildren could run in order to continue the legacy. I know he has a lot of them! Most people that are like us are savers, not spenders. I underconsume, because it just comes natural to me. It's not something I think about, I just do it. My wife, on the other hand, wants to spend money before we even have it. To me, I'd rather have money in the bank and not have to worry so much, then to piss money away on shit I don't really need or want that much.
