  • wow, some are blaming Castro and they forgot US's sanction on Cuba! trust me, If those people say bad thing about Castro in front of me, I will hit them to death! f*cking human with little brain! before making such stupid comments, PLEASE, find out why capitalist hate communist seriously first!

  • I have to agree I'm scared about all these people supporting communism and dictators like Castro :,(

  • Truste me, Castro is evil. And the country gets worse day after day. I left in 2003, and I went back last year. Things were even more destroyed, there was less food, etc...I was really depressed.

Batista was not a good governor, but at least the country kept a decent economy, and people were not starving the way they are now.

It's really sad that you, as a tourist, have more rights than Cubans themselves, in their own country.

At any rate, I hope you have a good time.

  • A country like cuba would be paradise if fidel hadnt taken over! I hate communists!!!!!

  • @enilec68 How about you open a fucking history book? Fulgenica Batista was in charge of the organized crime in Cuba, backed by the US, of course! He was 10X a more brutal oppressive dictator than Fidel ever was!

  • @BillHicks420 how about this? I lived for 13 yrs in Cuba. I was born and raise there. So, don't u f..ing dare to tell me anything about history, cuz I actually lived in Cuba and felt on my skin what it's like to live a f...ing communist regime. My grandparents were alive during Batista's regime, and they all agree in that even though things weren't great back then, they were a lot better than they are right now. U cannot always go by what books say.

  • @enilec68 I`m saying what historians generally agree on. So because you LIVED there, I can`t tell you about history? I`m not saying Castro is perfect, I`m saying he is the lesser of two evil, and his image is STRONLGY distorted by the media, US and otherwise... Whether your grandparents agree or not, is up to them.

No need to be aggressive please :) Sorry I was a bit aggressive in my first post :/

Anyway, my family and I are going to go to Cuba this christmas. Excited!

  • FAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • abajo fidel!!!!!abajo con el communismo!!!!abajo con el socialismo!!!! Cuba Libre!!!!! Free Cuba!!!!Fidel Castro is a killer and a murderer.

  • cubano1979 al i see on the video was only happy faces.

  • Of course you did, and even If you had visited Cuba during the 90s when my people were starving and going blind like my mother you'd also seen happy faces in these propaganda videos. In N Korea's videos with 2 million dead because of famine and you also see them happy faces. Sometimes I wonder WTF is wrong with these useful idiots who were born free and can't grasp these things. I guess you can only understand hell if you have been in it.

  • whatever man ive been three times and my ex is cuban. i know the deal but their situation isnt changing wether u go or not at least ive improved some lives by going plus this is for people who want to travel and see things first hand;

this isnt a history documentary ok.

  • No problem man, I commend your attitude and thank you for helping my people. My real problem is with those who go and turn a blind eye to "the deal" like you call it. Not only do they turn a blind eye, they actively participate as accomplices of the regime by ignoring the people of Cuba.

  • Whether you like it or not, every time a Cuban travel doc is posted, it WILL become a history lesson. There are those of us more concerned with human rights than good vacation spots. Oops, my high horse just rocked back-and-forth!

  • I think people have the right to voice their opinion on YouTube any way they wish. That doesn't mean they're telling anyone what to do. You sound arrogant telling people what to say and not say on YouTube. If you were vacationing in Cuba you may have to watch what you say, but not here on YouTube.

  • I suppose YOUR OPINION is more important than that of Locustlimb. I want to read people's view on Cuba's politics. It very much does relate to travel. Ferdinand , maybe you think too much of yourself, DICTATING what people can say here.

  • Good point. Everybody has the right to say what they want on YouTube. A freedom Cubans don't have on their island.

  • Nobody is stopping you from watching the video or going to Cuba! The point is, who do you think you are telling people not to voice their opinions, or that their opinions don't matter. The one complaining here is YOU, about people's views. Get over yourself!

  • The only one I see MOANING here is you ferdinand. Nobody is holding you back from enjoying the video or vacationing in Cuba and spending your money there (Cypriot Pounds?). Go ahead, go have fun in the sun! Who cares if the locals lack basic human rights.

  • Wow, look who's full of himself! Telling people on YouTube what not to say, or which opinions are important. Please, get off your high horse!

  • Wow you take the cake! Castro's revolution succeeded? You mean the revolution is over? Someone should tell Fidel and his little bro Raul. Actually, by Obama now allowing Cuban exiles free travel into Cuba, armed with their fat wallets and capitalist ideas, lets see how long old Raul stays on the "communist revolutionary path" my dear comrade. I can't wait to sip a nice Starbucks latte while admiring El Morro castle from the Malecón! Oh, and I can invest in a nice oceanfront condo!

  • I'm from Greece. Who appointed you representative of what "most people in the world" think? I don't remember voting for you. Just like nobody gets to vote in Cuba.

  • If it's so nice why don't you f stay and live like the rest of the slaves a-holes. These are PEOPLE trying to live there, not guinea pigs frozen in time for the tourist's entertainment although that's what the gov portrays to get their hand on your wallets and build even more prisons in the country with the highest per capita political prisoners of the world.

  • Well said Cubano1979! These travel videos make me sick. They don't mention how the Cubans themselves can't travel freely, and much less enjoy the island's beautiful hotels catering to tourists. Castro's failed system has turned a once vibrant nation into 3rd world status. And for all of you that are gonna blame the US embargo, spare me. It's a tired argument. Blame the primary source, 50 years of dictatorship.

  • This is a fake propaganda video and i just wish you really went to Cuba or any other totalitarian country and had to stay as a regular Cuban. If you just want to feel relevant over poor people, ignore their reality, go in guided tours like horses with blinders and stay in fancy state security in room camera monitored hotels, and prop the dictatorship, go ahead, do it, god almighty will always have a hell waiting for you sooner or later.

  • Hey Ferdinand, I agree with these guys. By spending your money as a tourist in Cuba you are supporting the oppressive Castro reigime (which maybe your agree with and have every right to support). Keep in mind that the Cubans themselves cannot vacation (travel freely) wherever they want. They can't even stay in the Cuban tourist resorts, shown in these videos, that paint such a rosey picture of the island.

  • Not everybody wants to spend their money there. Some of us are conscious of the human rights violations on the island, and choose to invest our money in other "vacation spots" around the world.

  • believe me until someone changes the situation, the cubans prefer thant you DO spend your money with them, get off your high horse.

  • Whats amazing about people liking a nice car or a good game?

  • I really liked the Cuba section in Bad Lands!

  • Sigh! I'd love to see Cuba.

I wish I worked for Lonely Planet, I'm well travelled, young, funky and live in melbourne. I'd be perfect for the job!!
