@swhamster with the mallets it sounds stronger but the timbre is totally different played with hands. If you are going to play with someone else it's better to put a mic on it.
In the video I used a common SM57 on the bottom and a Rode NT5 to catch hands sound and higher harmonics.
It's very easy to play once you learn the tongues pattern, but you can play without knowing the notes by ear. With a standard pentatonic scale it is hard to hit a "bad" sounding note.

Thinking about buying one of those "hapi"drums, and therefore got some questions :P
1. How much sound does the drum generate?
2. How hard is it to play?
Would highly appreciate an answer =)
