  • Thanks for sharing these sad realities - may they STOP, soon ...

  • Tonight I heard Lisa Shannon speak. She is a true inspiration! We can be too. Women, forget the beauty backlash and instead of spending all that money on beauty products, expensive face creams and perfumes, not to speak of wardrobes of clothes and shoes, give that money away to Women for Women and fight the real cause of our unhappiness on this earth - the patriarchal disregard for women and children! We can start a revolution! It really is in our hands!

  • Thanks to this site I am able to help in some small way. May God Bless all the woman out there who suffer n a daily basis. Their reward shall be great in Heaven.

  • Jai ma

  • yes! women come together and bring balance to Mother Earth.

  • Thanks to Women for Women, I feel a little less helpless than I used to about the appalling conditions Afghani women are living in today. Because I now sponsor a 34-year-old woman there, and mother of five (including 3 girls), I am no longer appalled; I am acting.

What Ms. Alice Walker is trying to say that women need to stick together through the hard times. We as people forget the basic things in life. This is food, water, love, clothing, smiles and etc.

I have looked at the other videos about Congo and Sudan. This lady made a beautiful statement. One woman can change anything, but many women can change everything. They all have the same message help another sister. Thank God for the women for women international.

  • How thin the layer of civilization we live on! Living in a country free of war on its soil, I feel safe. This disturbs me, reminds me that safety is fragile and can be taken away if someone decides they do not need to be civil. This reminds me not to imagine that the whole world is like my back yard. As Alice Walker said, we all need to listen to each other. Listening is more economically sound then war. War ruins all of our futures. Think globally, act locally. Mcgroder2010

  • Wow! well I must say that I do tire of seeing these types of images of African women. Depressed, oppressed, clearly stressed, abused, homely. Everything Alice speaks of is completely true and I do understand her well. I just find it all so horribly sad and hopeless. It seems so big and impossible to fix. Between culture and classism and religion, it just seems like to big a problem to correct. Telford2010

  • this is amazing, its stating why so many women in that country or region have many problems, no one listens to each other and when this happens it causes many problems and confusion. women and children are troubled by the men and abused, and when this type of situation happens,it cause a lot of doomed people in the community. they said we have to achieve for ourselves and by doing this it will cause change.

  • amazing program. alice rocks. personally I don't think woman, and men are that differnt, for both genders their are morons, and both genders can be just as evil. men are taught to be obsessed with fighting, woman are taught to depend on man, but now that's changing. truth is woman, need to know how to fight, cus like woman, not all men are sane, and if they can fight, and do not have a brain they will be violent, so woman should be ready to kick ass. we must lock all ignorance away

  • Most sad that this is how it IS...AND YET MEN smugly think we, women have it all today...

  • hi"i"m happy that the un i helpy people" arrounder the world" thier must keep the good work

  • What a wonderful peice! I'm currently sponsoring a young woman (and her three children) in Kosovo through Women for Women International. I'm hoping to sponsor a second family soon. Thank you so much for this program!

  • This is thee most beautiful and powerful video I have ever seen on youtube! I wish this video could be aired on all TVs across the world. This message was perfectly said and so true of our history. God Bless All Women and their children/families.

  • Thank you for posting this wonderful piece. We all need to be reminded about the real and human cost of warfare.

  • I am so overwhelmed by this video and can only say "well done" Women for Women for giving women a voice and allowing them to regain their dignity. This organization will strengthen the world one woman at a time!

  • Very emotional video. Its very sad to know that any human can be so cruel to another. You should be very proud of your organization and all of the help you have provided to these Women.
