  • im new to this hobby and i want to make a small indoor plane what plane design would be best because it doesnt need speed but needs to have control and how many servos does a rc plane need

  • I have been wondering, what exactly does KF airfoile mean? I see you use this building method on most of your planes. Does this type of airfoile not make a lot of tubulance at high speeds?

  • @MaxwellForce we have a complete section on rcFoamFighters blog site on KF airfoils. There you will find answers to your questions. You can find the link to the blog if you go to rcFoamFighters YouTube channel. It's in the profile column.

  • ho wlong does it take to cover the plane in the colour tape

  • arranjack it all depends on your own building skill level and how intricate the plane is. For the Bullet Plane took me over an hour as the KF airfoil steps slowed me down a bit. Once you find your own technique it goes a lot faster.

  • oh snap. i just wanted2 say thanks!!!! i've been trying for 8months to build a plane that flew(and responded) correctly. and i finally did it, thanks to you and rcfoamfighters!!!!! i think my problem has been the unstable control surfaces. i t like your take on that. genious!!!! simple and effective. thanx again:)

  • how much watts is the battery? and what kind of speed crontrol did u use???

  • gnikishin The motor and speed controller are a Suppo matched combo from rchotdeals. The motor is rated to 200watts and it comes with a 30amp speed controller. The Battery is a Rhino 1350mAh 30c 3 cell LiPo pack. The battery is rated at 40.5 amps constant with a burst rate of 54amps. For more info please check the links in the video information bar.

  • can u plz make a vedio on how to setup the reciever to the transmitter

  • dude i cant ge the f-ing parts

  • thank you !

  • Thanks for the tips on cutting your bevels. Could you show how you are cutting the bevels on your inside corner fold lines?

    Thanks!! Great vids.

  • Thanks bshupejr!! The corner fold bevels are done the exaxt same way with the straight edge ruler only you have to cut on from both sides of the line.

  • Do you have any brilliant way to not cut all the way through the facing paper?

  • bshupejr I usually just use my sense of feel and cut many shallow gentle cuts till I fell I have cut through the foam only. Paul likes to use a foam board cutting tool. I will send you a link. It cuts 90 and 45 degree cuts and the blade depth is adjustable.

  • @rcFoamFighters hi what did you use as the metal rods from the main servo to control rods (long metal peace)? please reply.

  • @feckham123 These were just standard control rods bought at the local hobby shop. They are treaded on one end and come with the clevis attached.

  • @rcFoamFighters any specific type or one i should be looking for? i am building the skyfighter v2

  • feckham123 I will send you a link to the SkyFighter v2 build thread on RC Groups forum. The second post in the thread has the complete list of parts needed to build the plane. Good luck with your build!

  • @feckham123 any specific type or one i should be looking for as im building the skyfighter v2

  • smart way with the bevelling, i was wondering how you oculd ever get it to be exact!

  • Thanks angrygunsmith! We always try to do things the easy way. It would be much harder to do the beveling 100% freehand.

  • what kind of foam?

  • I built the plane out of Elmer's Foam Board that was bought at a local crafts store. It could also be made out of Depron or Fanfold foams.

  • you video is great and you can build nice air planes!!

    :-D

  • looks like foam board for most of the plane and epp for the air foil, idk for sure tho

  • 5859987 thanks for the comment! I have never heard of infraboard before . What is it and where do you get it from?

  • i made one

    I'm using infraboard

  • love the videos and dedication to the sport, i am fairly new and i am interested in building, what kind of tape is that and were can you get it (the Color tape) also do you sell the plans to these planes.

  • Thanks paulieb1979!! The tape is packaging tape the kind use to seal boxes. We have not found any places locally that sell it. The best place we have found to order from on the internet is Tape Brothers. They have lots of different types of tape. Just make sure you get the get the carton sealing tape. The other ones are way too heavy.

  • What if you place the tape on the wing body and aerfoil, BEFORE you assemble them? only taping about 1/16 past where the aerfoil will lay down. then you would not have to fold and mold any tape. might be easier and cleaner. I am only a noob, so I do mean this as a question. have you tried it?

  • I see no reason why you couldn't do it that way. Remember there are no rules when you are scratch building. I always do things the way that works best for me but that doesn't mean that it is the right way or the only way to do things. You should use whatever works best for yourself and the only way to do that is to experiment till you find your own style and technique.

  • Being a noob is a great thing because you have no predisposed ideas of how thing are supposed to be and because of that you will be more likely to try new things that others would not. I still think of myself as a noob too because I tend not to follow the mainstream when it comes to building.

  • how do you find out what songs you can use on a video? been trying to find out. some help would be appreciated.great video.

  • From what I understand you can't use anything that is copyrighted which is just about every song out there. To be safe you need to use some sort of music program and make your own music. Some of the Video editing programs come with music generater that you can use to generate music for your video. We use Sony Vagas for video editing and Sony ACID to make music from scratch.

  • Glad i signed up to your channel as i'm getting loads of great tips off you,so what's the foam board you are using mate as i live in the UK and wanted the right name for it so i can see if i can get hold of some, thanks for sharing 5*

  • Thanks for the comment!! The foam board is made by Elmer's it can be bought at most craft stores and big retail stores like Wal-mart etc. It is just foam sheet covered wih paper on both sides.

  • You guys do some fantastic work with the sealing tape. That was going to be one of my next questions on how good you guys make your jets! After watching the video of Paul doing part 2 of the FF-22 and 23 was I able to find this video. That's gotta help out a great deal for durability on foam.

  • Thanks for the kind words and yes the sealing tape does help the durability of the plane a lot. It also protects it from moisture and stiffen the foam board even more than it already is. None of the foam board planes we have built so far have needed any kind of carbon spars.

  • Great video, thanks for the breakdown of the powersystem and a look into the beautiful exterior work. You guys are great, keep up the great work. Not that it really matters, but you guys should play some music thats a little bit more energetic. Please dont take that as being critical and honestly I'll still will be coming back regardless of the music. Great job and looking forward to part 3!

  • Thanks for the positive comment and constructive criticism! I appreciate it because it helps us out. We've been having a tough time with the music because both Paul and I don't want to use anything copy righted. So we are a little limited as far as what we can use right now. I'm trying to learn how to use the music program ACID so things should get better in the future.

  • Cool!!! Thanks for checking it out. In next weekend's part 3 I'll be installing the main components.

In the mean time don't forget to click on more info in the side bar so you can check out the links I mentioned at the end of this video.

  • Just straight up awesome!, Well put out info. I look forward to the next video.

  • Definately learned a couple of tips from this.

  • Thanks for the comment!!! Happy to hear you got something out of it.

  • Great video, very informative. The plane looks awesome, but then again, you always were a master fabricator. Can't wait to see that bad boy fly.

  • Thanks Mikeo!!! Means alot coming from you bro. Maybe I'll get you into flying too someday!!!

  • Awesome, you found it useful I was thinking it was getting a bit to lengthy

    Thanks for subscribing!

  • wow nice video dude very useful

  • Glad to hear you got something out it. Thanks for subscribing!

  • thanx for sharing mate. i've learned something.

  • Cool!!! Thats what I was hoping to hear from someone.

Thanks for all the comments you've posted and for subscribing.

Stay tuned for Part 3 next weekend!!!
