i recall this EXACT same music in some other game, i just can't remember what game it was...! but the ONLY difference is the part where it slows down.
@y2k4ever1 so much so , atari got Melbourne house to buy the home computer rights and make official versions of Marble madness.. either that or get sued for more.. If you notice melbourne house also put out marble madness later for some machines.. spectrum etc. maybe 64 also.
The music is very cool. If you play the game Eliminator, music by Jeroen Tel, you can hear a semi-remix of this tune. When I asked Jeroen about that, he said that he liked the Gyroscope music a lot and wanted to pay homage to it in his own way. Eliminator has an all-around killer soundtrack too!
shame the one for the spectrum isn't on here, the music on the title screen was much better, plus i think there were about 3 different ones that played at random, still remember em to this day they were that catchy!
i used to love marble madness when i was a kid and couldnt get it for the c64..i think i used to have something similar to this but i swear it looked better
this game acts like austin powers, asking me if i find it sexy, and i softly reply like willow replying to the wizards question, yes..yes i do. the bones have spoken.
I heard a great cover made of this gametune.Lots of those old C64 tunes get remade with modern instruments and they sometimes sound terrific. The game itself was kind of hard I recall.

Really obvious ripoff of Marble Madness, but at least it's a competent ripoff. If anything, it has some great music.

i always thought home computer clones of arcade games could be better than the ports.

I had both GyroScope and Marble Madness, i loved those games and the SID tune in GyroScope is just awesome.
Unlike a lot of games in its time it was a tune that you didnt get tired of and it didnt have weird annoying noises int. :-)

You are pretty neat at this game. I'm terrible at it. Well done. Retro Rules ;0)

Marble Madness ripped this off!
Talk about your jarring alteration of childhood memory!

So, what you're saying is that not only does Marble Madness suck, but it's also unoriginal?
NinjaGhostScorpion 4 years ago
I didn't say Madness sucked; far from it.
The Madness music is better and diversified, and the same can be said for the Madness gameplay.
I was just shocked; it was like discovering Edison wasn't the first to make an incandescent bulb (which, if you look it up, he didn't).

Marble Madness is older. The Arcadeversion was from 1984 but Gyroscope is from 1985.
