Heard about this on the PC years ago, developers seem to have changed the games look into "Cell Shaded" which I think is a bad move, this trailer here is the original look of the game, I think they should have just stuck with look.

Yeah It plays more like a FPS overall than a RPG, or even a "RPS" which it claims to be. Its no-where near as open like Fallout3. The world is split into areas, that need "Loading" in between. I cant help comparing Borderlands to "Fallout3." Its because theres just too many things in it that look like a Pale Imitation of Fallout3, even the main stories Idea of a "Vault" but with Treasure in it. No-where near as good as Fallout3.

yea i know what you mean...i love fallout 3 and i cant wait until there new game(even though there hasnt been much said about it)...but i can spend weeks on fallout alone without getting bored, its just wonderful...i have to play this game co-op to actually enjoy it...btw i heard earlier today that borderlandz merged with another company "...and that's why they switched to cell shaded" a friend told me that...but it still doesnt explain exactly why

Interesting, that would explain the sudden change in artistic direction. But I still think the reasons "why" were because, while they had this in production, Fallout3 came out and with all of its huge success could have kind of overshadowed Borderlands. Then developers getting concerned that Borderlands could be compared with fallout for its similar style and look, worked in the whole "cell shaded" Idea in the last minute.

Actually, they changed it so that it wouldn't be as dreary and boring to traverse like it is in Fallout. Also the comic book style is much more attractive than everything being brown and grey.

You can compare the two games all you want, but they're different. This is a straight-up action game, Fallout 3 was a RPG, and after playing through the storyline once, there is no more reason to pick it up. Borderlands will never get old.

That coming from, someone whose opinion is bias towards Borderlands, you got your opinions for the reason's behind the whole "Cell-Shaded" thing, as have I mine. But We'll see If Borderlands will get a load of DLC, top ratings from magazines, a "BAFTA" nomination, and a "Game of the Year" edition sha'll we. Funny, and Its not even "Online." LovL
