This particular moment of this episode is just utterly fantastic. Van Ark and Austin were just brilliant! It's the small things that blow your mind. When Val says "I don't wanna", or when Jill tilts the glass too much and the water spills down Val's blouse, and THEN she grins about it. The most mindblowing storyline not only on this show, but in all of televsion. I just could not get enough!!

This storyline is handsdown one of the best in all of television history. It was the perfect crime (almost impossible to prove otherwise), involved a veteren (Val), and someone that had already been on the show for awhile and that you liked (Jill). It was eerily written watching Jill for months setup Val to make her look "crazy" so her suicide would be believable. And the night of the actual murder attempt was film perfection. This was "Knots" last great storyline -- and they had plenty.

This scene stills gives me the chills after all these years. Teri Austin was great. I wonder whatever happened to her. I was so worried that Valene was going to die. Here in Australia, there was little information about future storylines and character departures in the 80's. The internet tends to ruin surprises now. Knots did have the best cliffhangers and storylines.

I loved knots, I loved most characters but the best storylines were usually the ones with val and Abby. And this one with Jill trying to get rid off Val, preparing for this time episode after episode is simply great. This storyline and val's twins are simply my favourites.

Jill was the best villian/psycho on this show! I would have liked to see Jill come back to the show...you know I think it was season 11 when the show tried to make the audience think that was a Jill look-alike or something that was talking to Gary on the phone, I think she was called "Sally's Friend" at that time. But, it turned out to be something else (Danny Woleska's ex-wife).

If I remember correctly, this storyline was created in case JVA didn't renew her contract. Frankly, I think the show may have been better served for Val to die. It would have been unexpected and brought extra attention to the series. Plus, Val's character was out of new things to do at this point. She had already gone crazy, married and divorced Gary twice, married another man, etc., etc. It also would have allowed the writers to do diff. things with Gary.

Larry and Pat had invited Valene to their house to watch a movie. When she didn't show, Larry went to check on her. Valene said that she had changed her mind. Later, he remarked to Pat that Valene had spoken as though she had had "a gun pointed at her head." When Larry saw the twins playing unchaperoned in the front yard the next morning, he and Pat knew something was wrong. When Larry asked the twins about Val, they said, "She's asleep on the floor."

this was season 9 ending 'the perfect crime' prob one of the best KL stories i remember , Jill slowly turned phsycho jealous of Garys relationship with the twins and Val. Val survived overdose in season 10 and Jill was exposed after the guy she drugged whom she used as an alibi told suspicious Gary he could not remember being with Jill during their encounter . Jill killed hersself and framed Gary for her murder but detective work from the ever so reliable Mack proved his innocence

God Teri Austin was so good in this scene. She still scares the pants of me after all these years. Joan excelled as always of course. This had to be the second best cliffhanger in the history of 'Knots'...

This was an awesome scene. Everyone in Knots Landing was so insensitive and inconsiderate and toxic to Jill and her brother Peter Brock - Paige, Abby, Gary, and Val. It was only a matter of time until another outsider like Jill was gonna snap on one of them.
