  • I like it. Most people cannot understand internal energy and fullness when they see it. The western mind set is stuck in prescription mode, pattern mode, logic mode, you name it. This guy is a cannon ball monkey! I love his playfulness, his clumsy grace,...

  • I know he's supppose to be great and all. but his flailing hands would fail to stop a quick one two punch. The partner just let him in with no jabbing. Not very convincing.

  • Your missing the point, these a just self defence examples and have nothing to do with the reality of a fight, which is always unpredictable. Anyway, Mr. Wang has been dead since 2000 so he won't be able to defend himself period. It's a shame though, he was my teacher and a formidable fighter.

  • Please explain the flailing hands. I don't get it!

  • Yiquan, in comba,t has no fixed postures, therefore the body and limbs must always be in a sensing moving state thereby enhancing unpredictability in attack and defence. I hope this anwers your question. By the way, do you practise Yiquan?

  • @paragate Thanks for the answer. No, I practice Cheng Bagua and I've also practiced Hung gar in the past. Namaste.

  • In the fifth place, I do NOT believe anyone could own this Utlimate Martial Art power with just practicing a few minutes on Standing Posture everyday.

    This is just dreaming.

  • Continuing the fouth place, if anyone teaches Yiquan with indicating external useless, unrealistic movement, this person actually do not understand the truth or the doctrines in Yiquan.

Extremely, this person only teaches Xi Yi Quan but NOT YIQUAN !!!

  • 1.What are useful realistic movements then?2. Are you then in favor of konjin (empty force) as some people propagate? Which Mr. Wang Xiangzhai rejected. 3. Have you ever met Mr. Wang Xuanjie? He was a student of Mr Wang Xiangzhai.

  • @paragate thats so incorrect i have to comment Master Wang did not reject trans space power, he actually advocated it. well maybe if its stated as kong jjing but as a whole the subject of energy healing or use makes zero sense he wouldve rejected at all . sorry to disagree but i have to since i did train in da chen chuan.

  • When I was with Mr. Wang Xuanjie I had to stand at least 40min. to 1 hour twice a day and I can assure you that that wasn't dreaming.

  • @philipw2005 inorrect. When you learn you are in a static position for the most and for increasing the learning effect. Standing positions are meditative positions which open the practitioner for respective data influx. It is a "spiltitual" thing. Unless you seriously practice the spiritual aspects of ch. gongfu you will never understand even yourself and who you are and who you are not. Gongfu is a manifestaion of cellular memory. Most babies have more gongfu than the average MA user.

  • @zenflowrappings You understand some of the things inside! Giant Wang -the founder of Yi Quan was invited to demonstrate his GongFu at a hall full of ch.MArtists. Giant just stood on the platform for few minutes. And the host might feel inpatient and requested Giant to show off more. And Giant took his microphone and said " All the GongFu is Here." That means Yi Quan is not about any sequence of movements or any repeating of action again and again in order to built a strong memory in brain.

  • @zenflowrappings Besides, if talking about External Movements and Actions, it should be realistic and should be approaching real fighting. I really do not think the clip is showing what I am talking about. I do think this is just imagination how to fight but most are useless!!!

I have not seen someone who are fighting on the street like this.

Extremely, this is just Xi Yi Quan and NOT Yi Quan !!!

    Philip

  • @philipw2005 you are ersisting to contradict yourself. The Yi rules the Qi and the Qi eventually is directly proportional to power. So why are you diminishing your own Yi?

I could tell you why. But: it is not the body who wins a fight. Most fights are decided before they even begin. The eye contact is crucial. Everything can be projected through the eyes. Yes , he is using a dummy to show his skills...maybe he should not. But maybe he is strong enough to do it just like anyone else and make a di

  • @zenflowrappings Thanks yr reply. Unfortunately, what you say " Yi rules Qi " concept was rejected by Giant Wang over 80 years ago already which was the time Giant still alive. Giant even totally rejected the existance of Qi Gong and wrote his point of views on books also, and was contradicted by many chinese MArtists at that period. I understand that you may not know this because there is no English book written down about this to foreign Yi Quan followers to follow.

  • @philipw2005 astonishing. I like the way you argue. It makes sense rejecting all terminology. How about wuwei then?

By the way, I agree with you on the eye topic. I was persisiting. By the way, what is a real fight? Can you fight someone over a distance which makes the opponents body invisible to you, out of physical reach? Yes you can. I do not wanna hear this "real fight" word again. Is that understood?:-)

  • @zenflowrappings At first, I do not like to argue with anyone. This will waste my time. I only point out the facts in logical thinkings and real conditions. I feel disappointed with yr comment here today.

When I heard the Training Methods and Concepts in Yi Quan at the first time,

    I was astonishing too !!!!!!!

" Real fight " means logical sparring, realistic combat .......etc.

Most of the MArt fighters on the ring "Stage" perform MArt with real fight or appoarching real fight.

  • @zenflowrappings Besides, u actually asked a good question on" fight someone over a distance w/o sight". The distance is not about mile away, and is few feet with opponent. On low level, it can't. On advanced level, it can.

Higher the level, longer the distance with opponent.

At least , Giant Morihei Ueshiba could do !!

Most of the MArtists in the world hope to approach this MArt summit.

If u don't believe, forget it.

I start in doubt to you whether U ar a Yi Quan follower or Not.

    Philip

  • @philipw2005 You may decide. Yi quan to me is a dialogue between the yin and the yang. The human entity expresses this dialogue with the the movement of the limbs. It starts with an errect position (Wu Ji) and continues to be errect until the heart gives in to a healing impulse meaning the heart expresses the true meaning of what is being said between yin and yang. Yi is a human sense which primarily comes from the heart. Yi means listening to the heart with the correct/upright attitude. Cont.

  • @zenflowrappings Correct attitude is the three diaphragmas working together. It is a temple being flooded with water. First hold breath, second dive, third swim towards exit, fourth surface and see the light. Yiquan brings utter enlightment. Enlightment enables you to become "an invisible master in the crowd". I appreciate your honesty.

  • @zenflowrappings Thanks for your appreciation on my honesty.

Many people like lies, and do not know the true value of honesty.

I will keep it until the end of my life.

    Philip

  • @zenflowrappings We discuss. Actually, I am not quite understand your contents. But, at least, I understand that you know some chinese traditional culture and concepts especially about " Yin Yang" theory. In this few thousands years in china, chinese used 'Yin Yang' to explain everything, including the things chinese did not understand , or even trying to explain someting which actually do not exist.

    Cont...

  • @zenflowrappings At the time Giant Wang Xiang zhai jumped out fm Xi Yi Quan, and started teaching Yi Quan after he perceived the Ultimate Wisdom, Giant began to use scientific words and the knowledges of force structure-within our body and everywhere in our Universe- in teaching his students. That's why most of his students did not understand what Giant's talking about. It is because Giant using the knowledges fm after 21st Century to teach 19th Century Chinese !!

  • @zenflowrappings What you said the heart impulse section, I will not use Yin Yang to explain. It is about human internal energy waves fm our heart. My personal feelings on this is that the waves can even float my two arms' weight on the air. The posture is just exactly the embracing an invisibe balloon standing posture . Actually, I am relaxing my body.

This condition will come out after continuous two hours standing training.

    Cont...

  • @zenflowrappings If you perceive Wisdom through Yin Yang, you are an outstanding person in our world !! Your believe is the most important in your life. It is precious .

    Philip

  • @zenflowrappings Besides , would you pls explain clearly the meanings of " it is not the body who wins a fight , most fights are decided b4 they begin " ?

You said " the eye contact is crucial". Do you know some great MArtists are weak-sight or even blind in their life in history. I could tell you why. It is because they are under good training which is something same as NO-Sight to opponent. The training is about the total opening of bodies sensibilities.

    Cont....

  • @zenflowrappings The body sense such as sound (ears), wind (body hairs)......etc. is the simplest - our body basic instinct. It is not about our eyes !!!!!

In your comment " maybe he should not, but maybe he is strong" has great problems inside. Outstanding MArt do not need the word " Maybe", because there is no " may be " in real fighting.

Giant Morihei Ueshiba - the founder of Aikido can close his eyes to fight with his students even in Sword's training. Why he can do this? Any "Maybe"?
