Dick Winters and Bill Guarnere were part of the generation that was the bridge between The Great Depression and WW2. A generation that really understood that freedom isn't free. God bless each and every one of them.
@iamthewalrus - I wouldn't mind tipping a beer or two with Wild Bill myself.
I am so glad my generation (born in the 70s) has the generation who lived and fought through World War II as grandparents. I don't know why, but for some reason i feel a lot of the freedoms and riches we have now has turned our world into a self centerred and greedy place. My grandparents are the ones who have always shown me how to be a better person, humble and respectful.
God bless these great men who were reluctant heroes. I'd love to meet Bill and thank him for his service to our country during a time when we were in the most peril.
"If you can, find that peace within yourself, that peace and quiet and confidence that you can pass on to others, so that they know that you are honest and you are fair and will help them, no matter what, when the chips are down." Major Dick Winters
just think in our hearts winters is still there but on this green earth his body will wither and decay away but he will live in our minds hearts and every time you read band of brothers or watch it

I think Guarnere would make an awesome drinking body, even at his age!
