Gentlemen, the Russians madesome nice weapons, but not functional and not scheduled at this point, a German, but much finer on the ground worse. Minus teperature dust and mud that German weapons because the schedule is mademore precise and often requires maintenance. If you had a chance to hold the rifle in both hands then you know what I mean. English gun is unknown to me and can not be tried
My grandfather used the 303. Lee Enfield in WW2, after a couple weeks of shooting he could fire off all 10 rounds and hit anything you could see. Targets from 300-600 yards were no problem for him, Canada produced some of the most accurate and fastest firing riflemen in WW2 out of a lot of countries. So I would say the three bolt-action rifles shown here are all gret guns, but It just really depends on your skill with each individual rifle.
Perhaps you haven't heard -- shooting at a water surface at a low angle can cause the bullet to skip, after which it can travel a mile or more and still carry lethal energy; you could kill someone (possibly even a friendly) well past that line of trees at the edge of your field. Always shoot at something that will positively capture the bullets (which, with a Mosin Nagant and steel core surplus ammunition, takes some doing).
M1 Garand wins comrade.I'm going to pick an m91/30 up because I love to shoot high powered rifles and I can get one for the same price as a cheap .22.
@cornholio119 you don't even know what you're talking about kid lee enfield is a common 1 to 3 moa mosin nagant is 0.75 to 1.5 more durable and uses a more common round which is just important because just price and availability
Haters, STFU! Every standard issue bolt action rifle from the late 19th century is superior in accuracy to modern automatic assault rifles built since mid20th century. No mater how much better made Einfield or Mauser, Mosin stil much more accurate than 99% shooters able to utilize considering their skills.
I own both an M-38 MN; and a 1908 7.65 ARG Mauser; and have only held an LE but I'd say all 3 would most likely get the job done! &.7.65ARG shells(Norma) are expensive as hades,,,Lol; and the LE seemed as heavy as hades; and the Mosin 38 shoots fire out the front of the barrel like hades. I love the M-38, and use the Bulgarian yellow tip surplus ammo without a single mis-fire. good vid
@scanpacker google search 7.65 ARG Mauser prvi partizan ammo It's about $14-17 a box of 20 in just about every caliber, and it has nice shiny re-loadable brass ;) save the norma for hunting.....
@gunfuego will do; thanks a bunch. I just love these historical masterpieces, and look forward to shooting an LE instead of just being able to hold it ..Lol...I haven't fired a 91/30 yet either; but I truly love my time firing my little M-38 carbine; althought the full size of the Argentine Mauser makes it much more accurate after appx. 80 yards, both however seem quite bit more accurate than my semi-auto rifles.
Having owned all three the Mauser and Enfield are way better in fit and function. The mosin i own has a sloppy bolt, that isn't as fast to manipulate as my enfield. The enfield is about the same accuracy wise with the mosin, perhaps the enfield is a little more accurate. Neither are as precise as the mauser though. All 3 of the guns are pretty much equally reliable.
Any gunsmith will tell you the Enfield and especially the mauser are way ahead in engineering than the mosin. The quality of the steel used in the reciever isn't the same quality as english or german steel recievers. Post a video of you hitting the center of a toonie at 100 yards and we'll talk accuracy
@grand778 Any gunsmith? I find it hard to believe that even half of them would say what you claim. Or did you actually go ask every gun smith in the world?
There are virtually no stories of the Mosin receiver going bad due to the receiver. The results were - Germans lost, Brits hid on their island until the war was over and Russians fought and won with the Mosin being the backbone of their army. If it was good enough for the Red Army, it will do just fine. Like I said before, learn to shoot ;)
@c32amgftw The Red Army was never known for producing well trained rifleman. Rather they made mostly sub machine with 71 magazine capacities for all their terrible shooters. Read a history book, get some facts, and throw your pathetic ego away (you'll live longer:) Plus you must be a typical republican pig, no brains or will power.
@grand778 the red army was never known for producing well trained rifleman im guessing you don't know what you are talking about the worlds best snipers were ALL russian
@MrDip02 All the best shots in the training camps were made snipers in russia. Yes Russia had good snipers, but a sniper isn't a rifleman. Riflemen in the infantry of any army at the time were essentially used for cannon fodder. Look up the mosin history the best quality mosins were hand picked on the assembly line and refined to be as accurate as possible. Their sniper rifles were not the pieces of fecal matter that are being brought into North America as surplus.
@grand778 Why would I need to hit anything to talk about accuracy. Simply knowing the fact that 99.999% of the shooters out there are not as accurate as their gun is enough for me to make a conclusion that all your whining about this and that gun not being accurate is just a subconscious denial of not being an accurate shooter.
@grand778 there's video of a mosin hitting a 18" steel gong at over a 1000 meters here on youtube already, also any WWII surplus rifle is built for war obviously, but they were built during a time when government actually gave a damn about their solders, so unless it's a late in the war Arisaka any one will shoot just as well as another in ballistics.........
Not saying the mosin sucks i'm just saying it's not world beater some may think. Like I originally said to each his own. But i've never read of an american g.i. or marine wanting a mosin. But I have read of russians wanting garands and springfields. Shoot what you like I prefer those. Thats the last i'll say on the matter.
And the competition remark was that people who avidly shoot long distance service rifles don't choose mosins. Well it's all m-1a and ar-15s now but back when service rifle matches used ww2 rifles.
Yes but simo hayha kills by his own words were never more than 500 yards. And also by his own words he got close to 200 kills with a sub machine gun. Not all the kills were with the mosin. Oh...i don't have to baby them they are proven battle rifles. Jungles, desert, and sub zero temps.
Consider this. The three battle Rifles (Enfield, the Mosin-Nagant and Springfield) were all designed by Mauser.
I've never heard of a man getting a confirmed 542 kills (allegedly 705 total) during the WINTER campaign in Russia with a Springfield or Enfield. However, one man did this all and without optics with a 91/30 Mosin-Nagant.
Now just because you don't see them at long distance events and why? You can baby your competition rifle, not a battle rifle of WW2
@killerman9908 and before you (or anyone else) tries that tired line of "russian guns are made for killing not accuracy" let me ask you a question. You really think the garand and springfield are not good at killing? Lots of dead japs and germans would disagree with you. Them being accurate just makes them more efficient.
@killermania9908 furthermore I think it speaks volumes that the mosin is absent from long distance matches and competitions. Never seen anyone at camp perry use one.
@MrTEXAN79 For a start they were not imported into the USA until the last 5-10 years. The Surplus market works in Cycles as the Nations clear out the stockpiles they come for sale. Before this the SKS was the hot import. Swede Mausers about 10 years ago.
@killermania9908 ok the sks didn't see enough service in ww2 to really count. Kalishnikov himself said on numerous occasions that the garand was an excellent rifle. As far as the springfield it has a smoother action, better cartridge and is far more accurate. How do I know? For a long time I took money from people like you in bets. They thought the mosin was better. I let them choose the distance and took thier money.
It's kinda funny that he said about that crate in his home country (presumably Russia) but that crate looks like it's Czech. :D It's a common crate for white tip 46grn low recoil practice, or silver tip Czech 7.62x54R.
Oh yeah, and USGI ammo cans have air seals, where crates do not. ;)
@pnktout The crates and ammos the milsurp came in are numerous, and not all were as well color coded as others. It can be a headache trying to figure them all out, but the Russian, Czech, Polish, and Romanian all came in similar crates and spam cans, and the silver-tips mean iron cored rounds. Trying to track down when and where surplus ammo was made can be interesting, to say the least.
Its good but to call the 98k and enfeild shit is just dumb, enfild is acurate like all 3 but has the highest mag capasity and the 98k is the more acurate they are all almost the same but each has a good ppoint moisin price, enfeild mag size, 98k accuracy(of couse thall all are extreemly acurate) so the title is quite misleading, good vid though
@lalablablaification I have , you misunderstand what I say. It wasn't because of a rifle that Russia achieved what it did . It was mass production that won the war. Whoever made the most stuff won. Granted I have a special place in my heart for the ruggedness of Russian engineering but it was by no means the only factor that won them the war. Hitler's intervening with his General's war plans was the biggest factor that lead to Germany's loss.
@cptexas1 Does the fact that this is a J O K E just pass right on by everyone? What exactly led you to believe this was a serious video with serious intentions? Do you understand that not everything you see is supposed to be a portrayal of reality? What exactly do you propose I ask about the Mosin? Since this video was so obviously a questionnaire begging for someone with knowledge to seek me out and enlighten me! If you don't like the video it is pretty easy to move on sir.
@cptexas1 There is absolutely nothing wrong with a rifle that is meant to go through hell and back. Although the making and dimensions of the rifle were not exact these rifles are almost perfect for hunting war apocalypse or anything else. With some elementary level gunsmith's skills these rifles can shoot fairly accurate. What's your problem with that?
@cptexas1 yeah but if you have cash buy some up. They are cheap now and plentiful but they will eventually become like mauser did and even enfields after that. As people buy more you see less in the gun stores and the price will go up. Personally I cant think of a infantry weapon the soviets made during WW2 that I like and I wouldnt own one for shooting but I wouldnt mind snagging some up to sell later on down the road.
@cptexas1 I pray someone with your foolish assumptions is not a gunsmith...I'd rather ask someone who actually knows 91/30s and has USED THEM, especially in trying conditions like cold, snowy, wet, or freezing situations, as I have.
On New Years Eve, a 12-year-old boy in Florida was crtically injured by a bullet fired "miles" away. The bullet pierced his skull. Police are still trying to determine who fired the shot. When they do, felony charges will be filed.
At this time, 177 comments and not one person mentioned the appalling lack of gun safety! Didn't anyone ever teach you guys never to shoot a rifle without a safe backstop? Those bullets will ricochet off those mud puddles and land who knows where. Lock up that gun in a safe and don't take it out again until you've taken (and respected) an NRA Firearm Safety course.
@ArethusaBill Fuck off...in the sticks we have fun...you shoulda been here on new years eve....it sounded like a war zone....everyone in this part of the county started blasting....some full auto....all went up..... and nobody got killed......
Not to be Captain Obvious you say the 98K Mauser is bad and an Enfield is a bad gun yet neither fired a blank or didnt fire or whatever the misfunction was when shooting the Mosin Nagant 91/30
@JunkComa Holy crap you are the ONLY person to ever point that out. i lost that damned star the morning before this vid was shot. I was little bummed when I noticed lol.
@JunkComa Not only that. He'll also get his face smashed for not shaving. And another time for loosing the star on a hat. And finally for wearing a hat like a pussy.
You know what I apologize for what I wrote, I watched the rest of your video and you shoot the mosin so well! I like how u use the hip fire close range shooting comrade technique! :)

@GiantPoopingMonkey Do some research.
lalablablaification 1 month ago
@lalablablaification I have , you misunderstand what I say. It wasn't because of a rifle that Russia achieved what it did . It was mass production that won the war. Whoever made the most stuff won. Granted I have a special place in my heart for the ruggedness of Russian engineering but it was by no means the only factor that won them the war. Hitler's intervening with his General's war plans was the biggest factor that lead to Germany's loss.

i always liked the mauser first, enfield second and the mosin, only because ammo is cheap and so is the rifle....

Ton of trash in your truck in a shitty field. Yep, that's Russia. Ask any gunsmith (or me) about a Mosin. On second thought, maybe you shouldn't.
cptexas1 1 month ago
@cptexas1 Does the fact that this is a J O K E just pass right on by everyone? What exactly led you to believe this was a serious video with serious intentions? Do you understand that not everything you see is supposed to be a portrayal of reality? What exactly do you propose I ask about the Mosin? Since this video was so obviously a questionnaire begging for someone with knowledge to seek me out and enlighten me! If you don't like the video it is pretty easy to move on sir.
mikhail718 1 month ago 8
@cptexas1 lol can they even own guns in russia?
xxuncexx 1 month ago
@cptexas1 There is absolutely nothing wrong with a rifle that is meant to go through hell and back. Although the making and dimensions of the rifle were not exact these rifles are almost perfect for hunting war apocalypse or anything else. With some elementary level gunsmith's skills these rifles can shoot fairly accurate. What's your problem with that?
EnfieldGuy243 1 month ago
@cptexas1 yeah but if you have cash buy some up. They are cheap now and plentiful but they will eventually become like mauser did and even enfields after that. As people buy more you see less in the gun stores and the price will go up. Personally I cant think of a infantry weapon the soviets made during WW2 that I like and I wouldnt own one for shooting but I wouldnt mind snagging some up to sell later on down the road.
jaschnelle 1 month ago
@cptexas1 I pray someone with your foolish assumptions is not a gunsmith...I'd rather ask someone who actually knows 91/30s and has USED THEM, especially in trying conditions like cold, snowy, wet, or freezing situations, as I have.

On New Years Eve, a 12-year-old boy in Florida was crtically injured by a bullet fired "miles" away. The bullet pierced his skull. Police are still trying to determine who fired the shot. When they do, felony charges will be filed.

ksanfuci 1 month ago

At this time, 177 comments and not one person mentioned the appalling lack of gun safety! Didn't anyone ever teach you guys never to shoot a rifle without a safe backstop? Those bullets will ricochet off those mud puddles and land who knows where. Lock up that gun in a safe and don't take it out again until you've taken (and respected) an NRA Firearm Safety course.
