Hearing this song as an adult reminds me of how much this song helped me out when I was a kid. I had a pretty rough childhood, and I remember hearing this song when I was ten, and reading along with the lyrics, and crying because I related to it. As an adult, I'm glad I cried when I heard it, because it really helped me stand strong through tough times.
I always have at least one tear come to my eye listening to this. After my parents divorced, this was like my comfort song. And they knew it everytime they heard me listening to it, or just singing it to myself.

I've always liked this song, kind of despite myself. More importantly though - "Wonderful" was the graduation song for the 1999 class of Columbine, which is somehow a perfect little detail.

i felt the same way when my mom and dad got devorsed but now everything is worst because my dad married a fat girl that is 9 years yonger then my dad. and i am left out.
When my parents got divorced, this is exactly how I felt. But now ... strangely, everything IS wonderful; The things I went through have made me a stronger person, and now I have the power to tell my parents how I feel -- We're a stronger family because of it, and now I'm a stronger person. To all the kids going through the same thing, don't hide your feelings. If you are mad, say it. Don't bottle it up inside. I think that is the true message of this song.
I can relate to this song quite well and I'm 24. My parents divorced when I was young, Dad moved in with his mom and focused on working and providing for me. Mom had numerous boyfriends. Ultimately though I'm closer to my Dad than my Mom. When I was little I wondered why we couldn't be together. Then I got older, started working, mom started trying to guilt me into giving her money and I was like 'oooh that's why.' Still when ur lil, u really don't understand. Dad only wanted the best for me.

I first heard this song on the radio after my cousin died when I was eleven. This is the first time I've listened to it in four years and holy crap I'm crying.
This song helped me out a while ago when my parents were fighting all the time (Dad found out about my Mom's affair with his brother) my father (alcoholic) was beating me, he had just lost his job due to illness and the bank foreclosed on our mortgage. My dog had also ran away (could not blame him really). My thirteen year old sister was pregnant (to my dad) and my brother had been arrested for drug dealing. All in all it was a pretty bad time and now this song just brings back bad memories...

I never got to be a kid because I had to be the adult when my dad was drinking and screaming at me and blaming me for my mom hating us and leaving. I didn't have a friend in the world. I was alone. Childhood really isn't all that great if you think about it. All the abuse and confusion kids go through, it's awful. This song is perfect for every kid. I'm 18 now, and I still hate my childhood.

This song helped me out a while ago when my parents were fighting all the time (Dad found out about my Mom's affair with his brother) my father (alcoholic) was beating me, he had just lost his job due to illness and the bank foreclosed on our mortgage. My dog had also ran away (could not blame him really). My thirteen year old sister was pregnant (to my dad) and my brother had been arrested for drug dealing. All in all it was a pretty bad time and now this song just brings back bad memories...

@mrcrowelydr Some of us disagree. I hated my childhood. I was alone for all of it. I never got to be a kid because I had to be the adult when my dad was drinking and screaming at me and blaming me for my mom hating us and leaving. I didn't have a friend in the world. I was alone. Childhood really isn't all that great if you think about it. All the abuse and confusion kids go through, it's awful. This song is perfect for every kid. I'm 18 now, and I still hate my childhood.

@xInfectedRosex I agree with you. I'm 17, and I been diagnose with Mental problems all my life, and my parents blame me for everything. I can't wait to be out and free..I never had a friend in my life either..

You're parents obviously aren't divorce. Or maybe you were the result of a one night stand and never knew them. You have no clue how much stress it puts on the kids. All of those sleepless nights, laying in bed crying, thinking about the memories you had as a family before your parents divorced, wishing you could relive those memories. It's assholes like you that cause all the pain and sorrow in our lives. You'll never understand.

@speakthetruth510 If you have asshole parents it might, but most kids are getting food, clothes and shelter free from thier parents. After 17 you have to do everything on your own.

This song makes me remember when my parants got a divocre. I cried a lot, but it all worked out fot the best. My mom is in an awesome 8 month strong relationship and my dad is fully content with having me and my brother. Awesome vid btw =)
