I dont know about mine, i was walking down the road, it started raining, and after i got home, i. Put it to charge, but it did not charge at all, i thought it was the charger's problem, but ehen i bought a new one, it still did not charge. And just mentioning, the screen is cracked, and it is an iPhone 2g
i heard that you cut open the poison packets from like shoe boxes and put the poison things where your battery goes works better then rice. is it true?
I don't know if mine will be able to be repaired...
I was riding my motorcycle, my so called water proof jacket made my phone be covered in driplets of water, not drenched but was clearly wet, I had headphones plugged in, HOWEVER...
After removing the headphones there was a pink water damage indicator in the headphone socket...
Now the sound seemed screwed up... No click keyboard/unlock/charge sounds...
But microphone works in a call... 85% of the time... Help me if you can please
@DonnyDoNSkillz We can fix that. We'd recommend sending it in for our water damage repair service. Please let us know if you have any questions, we'll be happy to help you out.
my wife just put her phone in the washing machine... the flashlight wont turn off and the screen wont respond when trying to turn off. so ive put it in rice for now in a sealed ziploc bag. how long should i leave it like that? im going to shop to get some slicon gel as that is meant to work better. how long should i leave it in rice before sending to you?
@somama23 there is this thing that actually works called "irevive" it requiers you opening your phone and it actually works sooo you would be better off wit irevive that shitty rice just look up a how to video on youtube its very easy
Hey could you possibly help me out i have a droid milestone x2 i would really appreciate it if you could maybe fix it but its been a couple months since i have fooled with it the screen wont turn on at all and i could use some help
i dropped my iphone in water two weeks ago so i went to apple store to get some help the guy opened my phone and and try to turn it on but he said it wont turn on so he said that i could get a new iphone 4 for 190$ but i dont want to give that much money cuz i know they are trying to fool also i just go my iphone4 3 months ago for 750$:( so i dont want to pay that much money. do u think u can fix it ?
Hi i also have a question about 6 months ago now i dropped my iphone 4 in the ocean and removed the sim card and tried to remove the water but it doesn't work i also tried turing it on! so my question is do you think you can fix it?!?!
I accidently put mine in the washing machine and well when i relized it after a couple minutes of washing, i took it out with much agony and dispair. It was pitch black and wouldnt turn on at all. I quickly unscrewed it and dryed it with a towel then dumped it in rice. I put it there and checked in the morning if it went back to working. It didnt turn on again. Will it ever turn on? Im freaking out. Did i burn it already since i tried turning it on but didnt? Please help me.

I have an Iphone that accidently went through the washer machine. It won't turn on at all. It's been dead for a couple months, I didn't think there was any saving it until I saw this video... Could you still fix it?
My phone keeps saying that the device is not optimized for this iphone, when nothings really plugged in. Also theres no sound unless I plug in my headphones.
@SincerelyNise Sounds like your dock connector is damaged. We'd recommend sending it in for our water damage repair service if your phone is not working 100%
I jumped in a pool with my ipod 4 i took it out and did that rice thing and i blowdried it, everything works except the sound and camera. Can i b fixed???
i dropped my phone in water but i took it out quickly and i blow dryed it but it was turned on. I turned it off but it keeps turning on and i put it into rice but it was turned on. does it matter cause i can't seem to turn it off :S
I dropped my phone in the toilet at school and it completely shut off. I put it in rice when i got home and left it in there for the night and took it out in the morning and it still wasn't working. I plugged it into the charger and it was as good as new..until a couple of days ago. now it only works if its in the charger. If i take it out of the charger it shuts off and won't let me turn it back on unless i plug it back in. I'm going to start looking for a waterproof case for my next iPhone:(
@ohhyoubad replace the battery although it could be a problem I faced with a faulty laptop motherboard in which the circuit board cant push power from the charging point to the battery. If you had of left it for a few more nights it would be good to go. Have a look at prices for motherboard replacements although it might not be worth it.
So when I put this in the rice after a while a white screen came on. I did the two button thing where it completely shuts off the phone and put it back in the rice. I am using a plastic container with a lid on it tightly shut. I do notice there is a bit of rice stuck in the connector port for the charger at the bottom and one at the top at the part where I put in headphones. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I only bought the phone over a week ago!
hey guys. put it in the rice for 2 weeks. if it dosnt work, and u have a warrenty, send it to apple. it will be clear of water, and they will send u a new ipod
I dropped my iPod 3rd gen in the tub and the screen shut off before I got it out, I put it in a towel and it turned back on and still works fine, that was nearly a year ago and the iPod is now my brothers and it still works perfectly :O
Even if you fix it I don't think it will survive quite long as the system is damaged on microscopic levels. Best thing you can do after this fix is to save up for an new phone, because you can bet on it that it will break down quite soon
Last week I was in a boat with my friend in the lake. We got jumped and I was throw in to water. My iPhone 4s was in my pocket. I kicked ass then took out my iPhone. I pressed the home button to check if it was on. But luckily that very morning I forgot to charge it. So when I was probably playing soccer it turned off. Then I shook out the water pretty good. There wasn't much water. Then I took it to my car and charged it. And it worked perfectly fine. I was happy because it was that expensive
My iphone fell into the water when a shelf in the bathroom collapsed. It was in the water for less than 30 seconds. The iphone was on and the screen went black. Did exactly as this video suggested but also decided to blow some warm air around the iphone openings with a hairdryer. Left it in a bag of rice for three days and everything is fine. I'm so happy.

God I'm so paranoid of dropping my iPhone in water, or something. I've been watching these how-to videos for half a hour ago. I just got the phone, and I'm already scared. LOL
When I dropped my iphone in the toilet, I used some stuff called "dry z air". It's a moisture absorbing product to protect closets against moisture. I put it in a bag, just like the person did with the rice in the video, for about 12 hours and the phone worked fine ever since! Any closet-drying product will do.
@iFixYouri i dropped my ipod into water and got it out really quick dried it took of my case and my screen protector left the ipod in the sun for 10 minutes while doin research on wat to do and then i put rice with my ipod in a sealed box and i check on it every now and then and i click on the home button a few times and the screen turns white now wat do i do
Ok, so the person who first found this out, dropped there iPhone in water, thought SHIT, turned it off, took the sim out and then thought, fuck it, Il shove it in a bag of rice and see what the fuck happens =S
HELP... so I dropped my sister's ipod in the bath (ipod nano) while it was still on , I tock it out quickly and then i dryed it with a towel. it was working fine i continued to listen and thought everything was ok. about after an hour later the whole bottom half became unresponsiveness. @talkichik101 Who has an accident with these things? Spoilt kids and retards with no sense of worth. I love my Iphone to bits and because I legitimately enjoy owning one and am fully aware that it is an expensive piece of technology, I am very careful with it and don't make stupid mistakes such as DROPPING IT IN FRICKEN WATER.
@IWinAtLife69 Accidents can happen in any sort of scenario... i.e. when you are pooping and you drop it in the toilet or if it accidental falls off the windowsill into a bathtub or something. even if someone takes care of it with their life, accidents still occur.
@pdcrew2 Yes, they do occur... if you're retarded :D How do you drop a phone in the toilet by "Accident"??? that seems retarded... Why would you put a phone on a windowsill??? I have never had the urge to do that in my life, even with cheap phones...
@IWinAtLife69 Easy, on the toliet you can be pooping and playing with your phone or texting someone, window sill might be listening to music or something. Just because you personally don't do any of these doesn't mean everyone else thinks the same way.
Dropped My iPhone iN Water Yesterday. Didn't Turn iT Off immediately. Used Aa hair dryer to dry it out & then turned it off & put it in the rice & Now iTs Working Fine.
this 75% works i dropped my second gen in water a while back and put it in rice for about a week and it works great the only problem is that my speaker never worked again... so i cant listen to music on it even the headphone jack wont detect headphones
the bad thing is i have an iphone 3gs and when mine got water in it the screen went black but if u directed another light on the screen it was still on but it was hard to see. and when i turned it of it kept ´turning on and saying iphone dosent support this charger and i had to shut it of again but i took the hair dryer and dried the charge spot and put it in a rice of bag its in there now and i dont know if its on or not best of luck to me :D
Guys im not kidding i know it sounds kinda stupid to put your iphone in a bag of rice but im not joking it fucking worked for me my iphone is working now
NEVER NEVER NEVER DO THIS! Yes, your phone might seem fine after you follow these procdures. BUT even if the battery is off, it still creates a current with the water, and a short circuit would happen. Which in result, would corrode your motherboard and other parts that are essential. Your phone is DYING for the 2-4 days you leave it in the rice bag. If you dropped your phone in water, turn off the power and TAKE IT TO REPAIR ASAP!!
@toumy9358 i meant take it to a place like IFixYouri or iRepair or something, not necessarily the apple authorized repair center. If you leave it in a rice bag, forget the repair, you might need to pay for a new phone when you could have saved it for a reasonable price and in a very short time.
my phone fell into my toilet -.- smells funny. it shut off immediately though, didn't have to do anything. having it sit in the rice now. shit. literally
Take it a parrt and see where the water damage is , than clean the circuit board with 80% vodka ... only with a cotton towel or something , do not but too much on it !!!
Can it be brown rice

Steps to take if you drop your I-phone in water, or anywhere else that can damage it.
1. Go to your nearest hardware store
2. Buy a large mallet or heavy / blunt object
3. Proceed beating yourself over your head until your brain stops working
4. die
This will ensure that the retard gene can be purged and end your useless existence. :)
IWinAtLife69 4 months ago
@IWinAtLife69 Yes, accidents are directly linked to the retard gene. It has been scientifically proven.
talkichik101 4 months ago
@talkichik101 Who has an accident with these things? Spoilt kids and retards with no sense of worth. I love my Iphone to bits and because I legitimately enjoy owning one and am fully aware that it is an expensive piece of technology, I am very careful with it and don't make stupid mistakes such as DROPPING IT IN FRICKEN WATER.
IWinAtLife69 4 months ago
@IWinAtLife69 Accidents can happen in any sort of scenario... i.e. when you are pooping and you drop it in the toilet or if it accidental falls off the windowsill into a bathtub or something. even if someone takes care of it with their life, accidents still occur.
pdcrew2 4 months ago
@pdcrew2 Yes, they do occur... if you're retarded :D How do you drop a phone in the toilet by "Accident"??? that seems retarded... Why would you put a phone on a windowsill??? I have never had the urge to do that in my life, even with cheap phones...
IWinAtLife69 4 months ago
@IWinAtLife69 Easy, on the toliet you can be pooping and playing with your phone or texting someone, window sill might be listening to music or something. Just because you personally don't do any of these doesn't mean everyone else thinks the same way.

can you fix and ipod 4th gen?
MrAlger96 5 months ago
NEVER NEVER NEVER DO THIS! Yes, your phone might seem fine after you follow these procdures. BUT even if the battery is off, it still creates a current with the water, and a short circuit would happen. Which in result, would corrode your motherboard and other parts that are essential. Your phone is DYING for the 2-4 days you leave it in the rice bag. If you dropped your phone in water, turn off the power and TAKE IT TO REPAIR ASAP!!
ReallyTkfkd 5 months ago
@ReallyTkfkd and have apple charge you a couple hundred bucks?
hell no
toumy9358 4 months ago
@toumy9358 i meant take it to a place like IFixYouri or iRepair or something, not necessarily the apple authorized repair center. If you leave it in a rice bag, forget the repair, you might need to pay for a new phone when you could have saved it for a reasonable price and in a very short time.

kizzles69 5 months ago
@kizzles69
Take it a parrt and see where the water damage is , than clean the circuit board with 80% vodka ... only with a cotton towel or something , do not but too much on it !!!
and it should be working again.
If not , dry it , whether it is wet or not.
