I once read that owls bodies are very light, and that their size comes from their fluffy feathers which enable them to fly silently.

Actually, all birds have hollow bones, which make their bodies light, yet still sturdy, and yes, a large portion of their body weight is actually their feathers. An owl's silent flight comes from the serrated ends on their flight feathers, called 'Flutings', or 'fimbriae', which break down the air turbulence into micro-turbulence.

They will fly down & get a small animal

cat,dog. mice. One video this little kid was showing his mouse to the camera

& from no where this big bird came down & took it out of his hand. ha That fast.

I love owls. They're beautiful, neat how they turn their head, it seens all around.

We have a similar species in the Americas. It is in the genus of eagle owls, Bubo, but we usually call it the Great horned owl. The French call this European species (English transation) "The Grand Duke." The American species is known to the French as the American Grand Duke. The great horned owl often kills cats. It is also one of the only animals to regularly kill and eat skunks.

Yeah.... She went under the table to get a close view.... but I heard the women say... "the Owl would have the poodle rather then the other way round".....

My dog is a Bichon Frise - white fluffy dog...

It looked like food for the Eagle Owl....
