Lifestyle goal: Run the Disney Marathon. I'm working on getting in shape now, and I just can't wait for this. :) Will probably condition until 2013 or maybe even 2014, but I'll be there eventually!

Just finished my 16th Disney Marathon and 5th GOOFY,and even the COLD weather could not take away the joy of running in the most MAGICAL PLACE on EARTH. To ALL the volunteers,you guys ROCK,you stood out there in the cold,snow and freezing rain,and still cheered us mid to back of the pack runners on with a smile,I SALUTE YOU ALL.I am registered for GOOFY 2011,have to stay PERFECTLY GOOFY. I also suggest running the 5k fun run on Friday,it a ball.
I am back for my 15th Disney Marathon and my 5th Goofy,and I cant think of a more fun place to run. Were else can you run through your childhood. To all the first timers,and even seasoned marathoners,for get the time,just enjoy this great course.
i had a blast running my 1st marathon at WDW in .08. no other marathon can even come close to how wonderful this race and the supporters are. i vividly remember hearing the choir and then crossing the finish line with Pluto holding my hand. what a dream come true-i love DisneyWorld !!
I missed the first year but have run all the marathons since and am perfect on the GOOFY,and yes,you do run by the waste treatment plant,but you have so much more to see,like the live animals on the way to the Animal Kingdom,and all the great Disney Characters. What other marathon lets you run through your childhood.
Cheers. I still can't quite figure out how it happened though. When I booked the full for 2009 I planned to run just the ONE marathon! Then suddenly I found I'd registered for Goofy!!! I'm in the UK so it isn't exactly a short trip to make! Just something about Disney that pulls you back time after time I guess!
WOW,that is a nice trip,but like you said,Disney draws you back. You will have a ball, GOOFY is great,and while your at it,why dont you run the 5k fun run on Friday,that way you get ALL the medals.
Gosh rjj7676 - you are a glass half empty kind of person! I LOVED watching this video! I ran the full marathon in 2009 and this is a brilliant reminder of the highlights! What a fabulous day it was! I can recommend it to anyone thinking of running a marathon in 2010. The 'miles between the parks' are livened up with discos, rock bands, cheerleaders, spectators, funny Sharpie signs "What happens if you get scared half to death TWICE????? etc See you all in 2010!
I like how they 'forget' to put in the part where you run past the sewage plant. Most of the miles in this race are run in between the parks. Not a very accurate recap.
God this looks like so much fun!!

Wow! It is my goal to one day run the Disney Marathon. It will be a few years before that happens though ... I just ran my first 5k last weekend. :P

I did the Marathon in 2004 and 2005. This year, I am down for the Goofy Challenge (and have been training for the last six months!).
An awesome run - I would recommend it to anyone (even the looooong section down Bear rd (past the water treatment area).
