wow look at you haha using verbal abuse against Murtha rather than taking a look at what is happening, what has happened, and how much money is being thrown away every hour.
Do some research and i agree, don't act like your speaking for every soldier in afghanistan and iraq.
be a little more mature because cursing him will get you nowhere.
I am thankful you have recognized my amazing power to demoralize 99.99999% of our military. I had no idea I was such a gargantuan force, I must have my own weather system.
I did retract the traitor bit and that is noted at the title bit. Thanks for reminding me I do bestride the internets like a colossus.
Jim, I'm glad you retracted the title but you are as public as Murtha. I saw you on TV so lets not underplay your media shadow. Murtha has been attacked even though, like you, he fought so that we would have the right to speak freely. If you can dismiss that service so easily then how important was yours ? Thats what I meant.
You have a lot of guts calling a 30 year vetran a "traitor" Mr McCarthy. People like you cause the greatest shame to the US military. The 99.99999 % of the US military that does everything right is demoralized by people like you speaking for them.
LMAO! Yeah, concentrate on Murtha, on the guy who reports the massacre of women and children, HE'S the problem. Speaking of Haditha, those American troops are facing the death penalty for their war crimes, which is only fair. Let's get those trials rolling! God Bless America!
Murtha served in the Marines for 30 years - he served in Korea, earning the American Spirit Honor Medal. He volunteered for Vietnam, an incredibly unpopular war, earning a Bronze Star with Combat V, two Purple Hearts and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. Upon his retirement, he recieved the Navy Distinguished Service Medal.
Tell me, Uncle J, how many medals have you earned? Certainly not as many as Murtha.
Ask this guy why we invaded Iraq in the first place and see what his answer is. I would say he bought the whole propaganda charade hook, line and sinker.
Doesn't he look young enough to fight? Why talk when actions carry so much more meaning and you can see what is happening on the ground with your own eyes.
you are wrong to said "none of those countries had the history". North Korea (NK) directly had face to face with US in open war (Korean War), and they have a REALLY WMD and not a fake WMD. But US is 'afraid' to face NK, not because facing NK doesn't serve humanity, but because NK doesn't have OIL!
I served in a Marine unit in the Afghanistan War. Don't act like you're speaking for me asshole. I'm a combat vet. I am against the war, and I am not your brother. You Republican piece of shit. Shut Up!!!
my husband is a marine. just got back from iraq. he believes in what murtha is doing. does that mean my husband isn't a real marine? does that mean he doesn't love our country?? what about all of the other military members out there who can't speak out against this war?? i think murtha is speaking for them, since they would get railed if they ever spoke of it.
dude. people can have different opinions than your own.
wow....such ignorance. The guy in the video says all the other "Al's" as if all muslims are the same. But then again wasnt it that same ignorance that got is in this war?...After all Afghanistan and Iraq are the same thing right? Wrong!...If your gonna be racist atleast be racist against Stupid White Republicans! lol.
As far as our involvment in Iraq goes I am as responsible as President Bush, because I wanted them there and I still think they will be the most effective way to protect me and mine. God bless the Troops and I thank them for their sacrifice.
While I do think the casualtys we sustained since invading Iraq are sadening, the lives lost on 9/11 saden and anger me more. Maybe I'm selfish in my thinking, but I believe our best hope to prevent our enemys from striking our civilian population again is to put our military in harms way. And Saddam while is an enemy, I do not think he had anything to do with 9/11, but I was unwiling to risk that his refusal to comply with the last U.N. resolution was a bluff.
I am not a soldier. I do have friends and relatives that are there or have served there. 9/11 changed how I look at the world as I'm sure it has alot of people and in this explanation I will explain my reasoning for Iraq not the Presidents.
We didn't invade Iraq directly because of 9/11. We invaded Iraq because we were unwilling to risk Saddam with WMD. As many people have said, lots of other countries have some form of WMD, but none of those countries had the history of Saddam's Iraq with regard to there use or there hostility in both there past conflicts with their neighbors and the U.S. or disregard for 14 years of U.N. resolutions.
That's wierd, before Iraq everyone thought Saddam had WMD, but now say they were misled. Now every one knows Iran doesn't have a nuke yet, but are willing talk tough about attacking them as a political point. I wonder if they will say they were misled after 3 years.
The "Oil for food" scandal was nowhere near the largest fraud case in the history of anything except the U.N. It was a scandal though. Still, that program allowed the sanctions to go on without starving five thousand Iraqis a month. It was a big stain on a program that worked. Today the Iraq fiasco prevents us from paying attention to threats where nukes are real and not imaginary, like Iran and N.K .
Are you saying, if we did find the WMD we would have taken them and left Saddam in power? I don't think so. At the point of invasion, we were in Iraq to remove him, Saddam Hussein, not to remove his WMD. It is his refusal to comply with weapon inspectors and defiance of the international community which lead to our inability to confirm the exsistance or destruction of his stockpiles that lead to the invasion. And with the invasion, came our obligation to rebuild Iraq.
I don't think there should be a perminant American base in Iraq if the Iraqis don't want it there. But what option do we have until they can stand on there own. I don't want the U.S. to be responsible for a situation in the region simalar to the end of U.S. presents in Southeast Asia that resulted in genocide because we were sick of being there.
But you forgot one thing, the investigation by ambassador Wilson in Iraq's supposed effort to acquirre WMD failed to provide any evidence of such effort. Simply said Iraq was a war of choice.
Clinton and Bush had the same evidence but Clinton came to the conclusion that sanctions were working. Within eight weeks of crossing into Iraq, both British and American intellignece agencies concluded that that there were no weapons and sanctions had indeed been working
That is a bone ignorant statement. have you heard of the largets fraud case in the history of earth. UN oil for weapons. the sanctions were helping Sadaam. Read up a bit.
"The hard fact is that so long as Saddam remains in power, he threatens the well-being of his people, the peace of his region, the security of the world." Quote from the President.
"The best way to end that threat once and for all is with a new Iraqi government -- a government ready to live in peace with its neighbors, a government that respects the rights of its people. Bringing change in Baghdad will take time and effort. We will strengthen our engagement with the full range of Iraqi opposition forces and work with them effectively and prudently." Sounds Good Mr. President!
"...the costs of action must be weighed against the price of inaction. If Saddam defies the world and we fail to respond, we will face a far greater threat in the future. Saddam will strike again at his neighbors. He will make war on his own people.
And mark my words, he will develop weapons of mass destruction. He will deploy them, and he will use them."
All my above post Sounded reasonable to me, back in December 16, 1998 when President Clinton said it. Now add 5 years to Saddams crap and the events of 9/11. Enough was enough.
I guess millions of Sudanese or Rwandans being slaughtered for the simple reason of being from a different ethnic background is not a threat to the world but some thousand of people being killed by a mad man is.
Maybe you should save your petulance for the marines who went on a killing spree thereby doing more damage to the idea of the U.S as benign occupiers as well as creating more insurgents from the freinds and family of the killed. Murtha is just doing damage control in trying to show the world that we don't kill lightly
I truly appreciate the outpourings of love that I have gotten from all my progressive fans. Please continue to rate the vid, maybe we can hit negative numbers.
THEY ARE G-U-I-L-T-Y, AND YOU ARE AN IDIOT. THEY LIED, PLAIN & SIMPLE, AND YOU DO NOT SPEAK FOR ALL OF US WHOEVER SERVED!!!!
HOW DARE YOU SPEAK FOR ME? YOU ARE A DISGRACE AND OUR BENEVOLENT GOD JUST MAY SMITE YOU - SO BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH ON OTHERS YOU IGNORANT EXCUSE FOR A FORMER MARINE.
THEY LIED! THEY AND YOU DO NOT SPEAK FOR ME SO CAN IT.
Are those trees in the background? If you support the troops and the Iraq cause so much, why don't you trade those trees for some sand in your eyes and IEDs ripping your legs off. Couch-patriots such as yourself make me sick.
Thanks for the personal attack, real mature. How about you look up something called The Iraqi Liberation Act of 1998. Also is it harder to believe that all those people voted for Bush, or that some evil coporate machine assumed power to take over the world BLAH BLAH BLAH. Take off you tin foil hat take your meds and take you head out of your ass, we will all be listening for the POP!
Well then, brother, please enlighten us as to where Rumsfeld, Cheney, and Bush got the idea to invade Iraq after 9-11. Iraq? Nothing to do with 9-11. Hmmm, everything to do with the think tank they are all connected to--Project for the New American Century. Plainly says, all the way back to the '90s: INVADE IRAQ, DOMINATE OIL MARKETS.
Amazing what some people are willing to say in public. Ten years from now, this video will still be out there to embarass the crap out of this guy. Amazing what thoughtless, hateful bullshit the combination of a witless idiot, a digicam, an internet connection, and YouTube can produce. Instadipshit.
Great video!!!!!!!!!!!! You said everything I believe in! He's all over the fucking news "telling" the media what's true and what's not. Was he there?! I love how people already assume they're guilty. It's war!! I can't believe he's not only kicking our troops while they're down, he's going to give a billion interviews and pretend he knows what's going on. I love you. :)
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. military inquiry into whether Marines tried to cover up the killings of Iraqi civilians in Haditha will conclude that some officers gave false reports to their superiors, who then failed to scrutinize the information, according to a newspaper report on Thursday.
Oh that is precious. You know the toughest part was doing so while keeping my jackboot on the throat of a progressive. Credit though for knowing the salute transcends Nazism. Sadly, I am more anarchist than fascist.
when you look at all those ribbons and medals that Murtha recieved you should, as most military know, take into consideration his rank...there are the few that have those medals and deserve them, but there are alot of ppl out there who exaggerate thier stories, and due to thier rank, acquire those medals...all with the exception of the purple heart...you can't fib that one.
jimbo, it's refreshing to see you be one of us and be introspective about your video.
Last but not least thank you for your service to this country. We are in debt to the men and women who put their lives on the line so we could have this kind of discussion.
As a traditional liberatarian conservative, I find this mans interpetation of the word "traitor" incredibly frustrating. Used much the same way a school girl clique does when a friend leaves their group.
This "Marine" fails to grasp the concept of innocent until proven guilty. Americans, are free to convict with their words. The accussed is afforded a trial with Innocence Until Proven Guilty. It's amazing isn't it? Freedom of speech and the right to a fair trial -- all in the same country.
I also wonder what the effect on Afganistan if there were suddenly no Americans to attack in Iraq? Would they be flooded with the remanants of insurgents from Iraq? Cause I don't think Iran would be stopping them from making the jorney. I don't know, just asking.
As for a Mission, how about this, buy time for a fledgeling Democracy, that if successful will be a moderating force in the region. Everyday we are there is another day that people who for years were TOLD we were subhuman demons get to see for themselves.
And to all I do not believe he is a traitorand I retract my previous BS statement. I think he truly believes he is doing good. He is simply very sadly mistaken.
As for a mission, how about THIS: Project for the New American Century. Get your head out of your ass. These creeps in power don't give a damn about democracy. They want to dominate markets. They are BUSINESSMEN, dumbshit.
Read and learn: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article1665.htm
I wouldn't call our service men and women indefensible. What ever took place in Haditha, wether it is Murtha's Massacre or a terrible mistaken identification resulting in collateral dammage, I don't know. We will soon enough. If it was an intentional retaliation on bystanders, the guilty will been punished. If it's a terrible mistake we have got to do what ever we can to make sure this doesn't happen again.
Even if it was accidental itis still a terrable thing. But, we cannot and should not condemn the entire U.S. military over this event. We also need to make sure that our political beliefs are not blinding us to the fact that these people over there are our brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, and parents. My God people how about a little trust IN Them! I'm sure if it is what Murtha says no one would be more angry then them.
Also Murtha should be honered for the service he gave this country, but has to be held accountable for the disservice he is doin it now. This war is not Viet Nam and has to be won. It will not go away no matter who is in control in D.C.
I was Army Special Forces. And technically neither I nor anyone with serious Marine credentials can boot him from the Corps. But hey it's tough to do hyperbole in one take unscripted
What really hurts is attacking the messenger. The hate you spew towards those who would dare speak the truth toward the unfortunate situation our brave men and women in uniform have been thrown into only digs a deeper hole. This is a war of choice. It is time to choose to end it with honor before we create our own disgrace.
Boy it's good to feel the love. I mean who am I to call for a fair trial or even to wait for charges to be filed? They are obviously guilty, Time magazine says so.
Scumbag, baby-killing military folks certainly don't deserve fair treatment or the presumption of innocence. Hell hangin's too good for 'em. Keep squawkin' clowns and the 99.9999% of the military who serve honorably so you can whine at me will keep doing so.
I don't believe the angry responses are reacting to your call for a fair trial. I believe they are directed towards your attack on those who would dare call this war what it is - an abuse of the honor belonging to the men and women in uniform. When troops are given no clear mission - when the reasons for fighting are false - this is the inevitable result. We must save our nation's honor before we confirm in the Iraqis' hearts and minds that we are the source of their suffering.
I've met your type before, Uncle J. You keep tying everything the military does to my right to say anything about it, as if every US war were about freedom. You guys were living in the past thirty years ago, and you're living in the past today.
Remember the men and woman of the U.S. military choose to serve there country. They did not choose where to serve there country. Wether it is in Bosnia, Somalia, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan or here in the States, they chose to serve something bigger then themselves. And are sworn to defend those Rights you speak of. Don't cut them loose because you don't agree with the theatre or the current President.
Yeah, right. If "normal channels" had actually been used, the investigation would have been finished weeks after the incident.
Despite all their past staements to the contrary, the military learned NOTHING from Vietnam. In the end, it's still the must servile officers who get ahead, creating situations like Haditha, and Mai Lai.
The guy in the video is objectively pro child-murder.
when this guy commented on the case, it was under investigation. Many Marines have committed crimes its not unheard of in war. unclejimbomadcity 5 years ago
Jim, I'm glad you retracted the title but you are as public as Murtha. I saw you on TV so lets not underplay your media shadow. Murtha has been attacked even though, like you, he fought so that we would have the right to speak freely. If you can dismiss that service so easily then how important was yours ? Thats what I meant.
darliegoddess 5 years ago
You have a lot of guts calling a 30 year vetran a "traitor" Mr McCarthy. People like you cause the greatest shame to the US military. The 99.99999 % of the US military that does everything right is demoralized by people like you speaking for them.
darliegoddess 5 years ago
LMAO! Yeah, concentrate on Murtha, on the guy who reports the massacre of women and children, HE'S the problem. Speaking of Haditha, those American troops are facing the death penalty for their war crimes, which is only fair. Let's get those trials rolling! God Bless America!
ickid 5 years ago
Murtha served in the Marines for 30 years - he served in Korea, earning the American Spirit Honor Medal. He volunteered for Vietnam, an incredibly unpopular war, earning a Bronze Star with Combat V, two Purple Hearts and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. Upon his retirement, he recieved the Navy Distinguished Service Medal.
Tell me, Uncle J, how many medals have you earned? Certainly not as many as Murtha.

Doesn't he look young enough to fight? Why talk when actions carry so much more meaning and you can see what is happening on the ground with your own eyes.

I forgot to add, NK is WILLING to attack US IF they were attacked. I don't think Saddam have the same willingness, as he was in US payroll before..
postkoizumi 5 years ago
For Musket37,
you are wrong to said "none of those countries had the history". North Korea (NK) directly had face to face with US in open war (Korean War), and they have a REALLY WMD and not a fake WMD. But US is 'afraid' to face NK, not because facing NK doesn't serve humanity, but because NK doesn't have OIL!

As far as our involvment in Iraq goes I am as responsible as President Bush, because I wanted them there and I still think they will be the most effective way to protect me and mine. God bless the Troops and I thank them for their sacrifice.
Musket37 5 years ago
While I do think the casualtys we sustained since invading Iraq are sadening, the lives lost on 9/11 saden and anger me more. Maybe I'm selfish in my thinking, but I believe our best hope to prevent our enemys from striking our civilian population again is to put our military in harms way. And Saddam while is an enemy, I do not think he had anything to do with 9/11, but I was unwiling to risk that his refusal to comply with the last U.N. resolution was a bluff.
Musket37 5 years ago
I am not a soldier. I do have friends and relatives that are there or have served there. 9/11 changed how I look at the world as I'm sure it has alot of people and in this explanation I will explain my reasoning for Iraq not the Presidents.
Musket37 5 years ago
We didn't invade Iraq directly because of 9/11. We invaded Iraq because we were unwilling to risk Saddam with WMD. As many people have said, lots of other countries have some form of WMD, but none of those countries had the history of Saddam's Iraq with regard to there use or there hostility in both there past conflicts with their neighbors and the U.S. or disregard for 14 years of U.N. resolutions.

nikkosk 5 years ago
That's wierd, before Iraq everyone thought Saddam had WMD, but now say they were misled. Now every one knows Iran doesn't have a nuke yet, but are willing talk tough about attacking them as a political point. I wonder if they will say they were misled after 3 years.
Musket37 5 years ago
The "Oil for food" scandal was nowhere near the largest fraud case in the history of anything except the U.N. It was a scandal though. Still, that program allowed the sanctions to go on without starving five thousand Iraqis a month. It was a big stain on a program that worked. Today the Iraq fiasco prevents us from paying attention to threats where nukes are real and not imaginary, like Iran and N.K .
atman100 5 years ago
Are you saying, if we did find the WMD we would have taken them and left Saddam in power? I don't think so. At the point of invasion, we were in Iraq to remove him, Saddam Hussein, not to remove his WMD. It is his refusal to comply with weapon inspectors and defiance of the international community which lead to our inability to confirm the exsistance or destruction of his stockpiles that lead to the invasion. And with the invasion, came our obligation to rebuild Iraq.
Musket37 5 years ago
I don't think there should be a perminant American base in Iraq if the Iraqis don't want it there. But what option do we have until they can stand on there own. I don't want the U.S. to be responsible for a situation in the region simalar to the end of U.S. presents in Southeast Asia that resulted in genocide because we were sick of being there.
Musket37 5 years ago
But you forgot one thing, the investigation by ambassador Wilson in Iraq's supposed effort to acquirre WMD failed to provide any evidence of such effort. Simply said Iraq was a war of choice.
skylinerj34 5 years ago
Clinton and Bush had the same evidence but Clinton came to the conclusion that sanctions were working. Within eight weeks of crossing into Iraq, both British and American intellignece agencies concluded that that there were no weapons and sanctions had indeed been working

"The hard fact is that so long as Saddam remains in power, he threatens the well-being of his people, the peace of his region, the security of the world." Quote from the President.
Musket37 5 years ago
"The best way to end that threat once and for all is with a new Iraqi government -- a government ready to live in peace with its neighbors, a government that respects the rights of its people. Bringing change in Baghdad will take time and effort. We will strengthen our engagement with the full range of Iraqi opposition forces and work with them effectively and prudently." Sounds Good Mr. President!
Musket37 5 years ago
"...the costs of action must be weighed against the price of inaction. If Saddam defies the world and we fail to respond, we will face a far greater threat in the future. Saddam will strike again at his neighbors. He will make war on his own people.
And mark my words, he will develop weapons of mass destruction. He will deploy them, and he will use them."

Musket37 5 years ago
Even if it was accidental itis still a terrable thing. But, we cannot and should not condemn the entire U.S. military over this event. We also need to make sure that our political beliefs are not blinding us to the fact that these people over there are our brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, and parents. My God people how about a little trust IN Them! I'm sure if it is what Murtha says no one would be more angry then them.
Musket37 5 years ago
Also Murtha should be honered for the service he gave this country, but has to be held accountable for the disservice he is doin it now. This war is not Viet Nam and has to be won. It will not go away no matter who is in control in D.C.
