Mark Bagley's art still holds up imo. His art is awesome! And I love the series. Read all of 'em except for Death of Spider-man atm.

The only thing that annoys me about USP and anything that Bendis writes is long conversations that go like this:

"Dude-"

"I know"

"I didn't"

"can you believe?"

"no thats crazy"

"I can't"

"I know"

At least IMO many conversations are short and choppy and characters finish each others sentences too much.

Ultimate hobgoblin is actually my favorite story arc. You just cant compare him to he original. You cant do that with either of the ultimate goblins. Wat's great is,he's not evil. He's not maniacal and sinister like his father. He's clearly this tormented,traumatized kid who has repressed so much,his mental walls begin to close in, i.e. imaginary bald guy giving him orders. I dont really think the ultimate hobgoblin is supposed to be cool. I think it was supposed to tug at the heart.

This is an amazing story(pun intended). It is a high school drama about a teen copping with friends, family issues and of course his abilities that he has used to create his alter ego "Spiderman".

I still feel that the original will have more power and to be able to connect more with the audience i respect ultimate spiderman its just that some changes should have never been made about the villians, and the setting but i respect the series overall its my opinon so blowshimselfupdude do go ohh u haven't read ultimate spiderman i read it i just never got into it, or liked the changes made , but hey ill give it another try.

I hated Ultimate Venom, not his look, but how he was created. In the original comics it was better. Because it was an alien symbiote and that was really cool. In the Ultimate version counterpart he was created as a serum for a cure for cancer, now the idea is a cool one, but for me it was just terrible. Another villain that I have a huge gripe on is Rhino, because get this, he's not actually a human on big steroids and radiation, but a robot driven by a Nerd named Ned (I think).

I Like ultimate spiderman to a degree but theres somes things it did where it was slightly retarded, like with the clones and shocker and some of the arcs and OMG! that stupid thing where GWen is Carnage.....Ok c'mon Carnage? seriously, they could've done better than what they did.

Iron Man looks like shit. And the Green Goblin looks too much like the Hulk.

But I can forgive the later because of how fucking cool he looks. Plus, the dynamic between Osborne and Peter is still there, so I don't really give a shit.

Other than that, it's a great series, at least up to volume 19 (haven't read past it... yet...)

Bagley is the Ultimate Spider-man artist. Mark Bagley. He is a terrific artist, and when Bendis carried-on after he left, I think he made a decision of poor judgement, because the next artist was just like any other around now-a-days.

I too read just past the Ultimate Clone Saga before falling out of it. As for Ultimate X-Men, I didn't stick with that for too long. Got about 20 issues in before I lost interest. I've been entertaining the thought of giving the UXM comics another go-round, and I've been trying to get back into USM as well.

I've read up to the marvel knights arc, which was cool to see all of those characters together, but was disappointing because I don't fill like they did much. I guess that's the thing about having realistic heroes; sometimes they fail too.

So I bought what I THOUGHT were the first 4 volumes of USM today. I had the guy check out whether they were issues 1-4. Turns out he messed up and gave me 1, 3, 4 and 5!!! So now I have to buy volume 2...rrr.

The first volume was really good though so I don't mind.

I actually agree with you. Ultimate Spidey has been a consistently strong book since it came out. I'll be very sorry to see it go, but I am very curious to see what they do with the Ultimate Universe post-Ultimatum.

Really, the only ultimate titles that seem to matter are, Spidey and the Avengers, of cause their are other titles, like the Fantastic Four, Hulk, Iron Man, and the X-Men.

Aunt may gets shot. And the ONLY solution Spidey can come up with is to sumon the devil and make a deal with him. This deal unmakes Petr and Mary Jane's marrige (So about 25 years of stories now don't exist). just so his 4000 year old aunt who told him she was READY to die coudl still live.

I've heard the whole Cap death thing was really well done. I've not really ever read Cap. But I intend ot pick up the omnibus of Brubaker's run. Because I think Brubaker rules. And I've pretty much nothing but good things about his run on Cap.

Yeah I Love Ultimate Spider-man... it is so well and the best in the book is Doc Ock he is done so well and looks so menicing. I love the book.... and your right I hated the Hob goblen story it was crap... but oh well.... Iiked the issue where Peter and Wolverine switch Bodies and parker is freaking out and wolverine doesn't even try to be friendly parker... classic

no I'm into all comics.... Spider-man is my favorite from Marvel... I am in to DC mostly lots of Justice league stuff.. but from marvel I like spider-man and X-men.... But DC stuff comes first

I'm big with Daredevil and The Hulk. And Ghost Rider when he's written well.

The hulk I have never been to crazy about because all I saw was a powerful guy that needed anger management class.... and I payed no attention to Ghost rider after I saw the movie... I'll be willing to bet big money that he isn't that way in the comics... but I was never that into the whole guy from hell thing... And I like X-men because of cyclopes

Daredevil is an aquired tase (not unlike X-men).

You have to check out Hulk Visionries Peter David. It will completley alter your perception on Hulk.

I perticuarly like the 90's Ghost Rider (who actually isnt' a demon he's a......well ok continuity is all messed up and they say he's like 3 diffrent things because they kept changing wirters). But that's hard to find now. And he's not from hell. and just to show how diffren the movie is. I don't think there's really ever jokes in the comics
