I love this album, i love this song, i like the video, except 1/4 of the Dopped Up Dollies (Nicole Oliva) is like barely in it...She is uber hot and they just kinda keep her in the background....
I love this and Big D very much. Fluent in Stroll is one of my favorite albums in general. These songs I find extremely fun to skank to.
BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT... Big D will be releasing a new ablum in the next coming months. So lets see if they keep with this or go back to their old stuff. Which is completely fine either cuz Big D and the Kids Table will always fucking rule.
I don't know what everyone is bitching about, I mean I get it it is not as fast paced as their old stuff I think it's a nice change of pace, I mean damn the title of the album fluent in STROLL if that isn't a big enough hint I don't know what to tell you.
@mariahrochelle they changed? what do you think? i love both styles :D and i hate all you haters who have no musical talent at all and are hating on this
I've listen to many a Big D records. But this...What the fuck am I hearing? This is a fucking abortion to music. What happened to shit like Shot By Lammi or Good Luck? This is...This song is just a clusterfuck of bad.
I really like the sound of this new album too. I gotta be honest and say I never really been into Big D and the Kids Table much as I didn't like their sound. Don't get me wrong, im not some kind of part time ska fan, I am heavily into all era's of the genre. What I like with Big D now is it's something different, the backing singers add a bit more life and add a new dimension. Reminds me of something old school but sounds more grown up than their old stuff.
i think its funny how dave has a guitar in the beginning of the video, but doesnt play it in the song or throughout the rest of the video. anyways, i love big d
I really love where BIg D went with this album and this video. Too many people hate it when musicians do what they do best, which is being musicians. No band who is this talented should ever want to limit themselves to one sound over and over again. It takes an amazing group of musicians to make a genre completely there own.
I guess a couple of the girls could actually be considered permanent band members, idk but the one that looks like Katy Perry was with them when I saw them at warped tour
ya i saw tip the van before when they toured with big d and the other night i was drinking and playing this vid with some friends and my one buddy started yelling about how these girls were from tip the van
(continued) of a fuckin hip hop video. Oh, and by the way- where's the band?? I know the Doped Up Dollies had a big part in this song, but c'mon. I think I saw Dan Stoppelman (trumpet) twice, probably for a total of 6 seconds. I love Big D and I hold their music vids up to the same standard as their music. Constructive criticism guys-
Alright, so this is based on the video alone (the song is sick)-
I've always thought Big D had the best music vids because the music accompanied the video perfectly, but in this video they didn't have any significant body language that would've usually made the vid great(watch LAX). And how many music vids are they gonna make that's just shows them playin a party?? Putting a bunch of hot rudegirls up on the screen is not what I thought Bid D would be going for, honestly it's just another version
This doesn't sound like Big D at all. But fuck that, Big D has always been great because they don't sound like anyone! Even themselves. That's true musicianship, when you're not even your own influence.
I like that chick with the curly brown hair. Tattoos dont work for all girls though. If theyve got a nice body and well placed tattoos its like a dream come true man
Its amazing that they got Dana Colley of Morphine to play on this album. I would love to see them bust out some Morphine tunes at one of their shows. I think Honey White, Mile High, Cure for Pain, Buena, Radar, Thursday and Super Sex would be really awesome up beat songs for them to cover. But one can only hope.
more footage of the black haired girl, she did get enough air time... anyways, love the song and video, these guys just keep coming out with better and better music
Their style changes from one album to another, but it always seem follow a logic path! In my opinion, they're one the most original and refreshing ska band!
And ehm ... at 0:16, uuugh! she makes me melt! :D
For suree!!! I miss their old, straight-up ska punk attack and how fast they used to be, but at the same time I absolutely love the new, more toned-down stuff. I just wish they'd play more old stuff live...mix up their whole discography ya know? Instead of just playing this. I can't really complain though
The girls are all gorgeous, but she takes the cake
I know I know, I just miss hearing stuff off of Gypsy Hill, Good Luck, and Shot By Lammi. The day they decide to mix the styles live is the day their shows go from being intense to being absolutely perfect. I can't wait
I have three of Big D's albums and this is one of the few songs off this album i liked, but I am also more of a pure ska person. But this video is pretty sweet.
Big D is by far my favorite band. This album is really awesome. prolly my favorite. i still love Strictly Rude and How It Goes, but i really dig this style. i met these guys and they're the coolest. wish more peole knew about them.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
How long has this band been around? People keep saying they grew up....Rancid has been around forever and they still making that good ol' punk rock...this stuff is hard to swallow, especially after such a great ska that was Strictly Rude!
Stricly Rude was a very boring and weird album with the exception of a few songs. It was Big D experimenting with what they could do.
Fluent In Stroll was Big D being themselves and doing whatever the fuck they wanted whether their fans cared or not. Its a much more mature Big D with a big variety of influences. The outcome was great. The greatest ska album of the decade.
I completely agree. At shows they're still playing old songs so its not like they lost their roots. Much like what you said. They've grown up a hell of a lot and it was natural for them to show it through their music. They're not in their early twenties anymore.
I wouldn't exactly call it a ska album, they leaned more towards dancey hop scotch/ jazzy/ big band stuff and it made one hell of an album. Has a real folksy attitude about it, I like it.
It is so fun.....they are so funny....alittle unepected, but so worth it....it makes me just chill...I needed them to go in this direction......my feet are always moving and that is music...music can make you think and musiac can make you laugh...thanks Big D......I always play the music a little "Loadah" as you say....
Idk if all you people bashing the song/video/band realize this but they made the new album to sound like the genre of "Stroll" which is a combination of "mix of double-dutch, ska, reggae, and soul" so ya, of COURSE it doesn't sound like the ska/punk we're use to hearing from them.
It's a different sound them I am use to hearing as a whole but after 2 listens I was hooked. I like this album a lot. Maybe even more then their previous work.
All the people hating on Big D now are retards. This music may not be what they used to do, but it's fucking amazing. Just sit in with the groove, have a good time, and stop your bitching.
I agree this album is really different compared to Strictly Rude (which was awesome). I really like some of the songs and I guess I'll get used to the rest of them.
what the fuck is this? This is terrible. This is not the Big D I know and love. It looks like they sold out, not only with the music, but more with the music video. I mean their other music videos were so good, and it just seems like they are trying too hard to go main stream. I'm disappointed.

The music video is main stream-like because its just the band playing. Big D always had the 'i dont give a shit' look in their music and videos. This video is just random shots of david mcwane and women dancing and singing. I also think mcwane doesnt sing well. His forte was always the half talking half singing thing he does. This just seems to lack energy. And I know youre all pissed off that I'm saying this. I am too because Big D is one of my favorite bands but this just isn't doing it for me
The best songs are the ones that send shivers down my spine and cause spontaneous and uncontrollable urges to move my feet!
