  • So... did you like it?

  • this was a synopsis. not really a review.

  • @wtfiypaw: No, he gave his opinion of the film and reccommended it, so it was a review. A lot of critics provide a little bit of a synopsis in their reviews.

  • i just saw paul, the new simon pegg/nick frost movie, itz awesome, it even has seth rogen!!!

  • Love this movie, same as Scott Pilgrim an Shaun of the Dead :) fantastic, fantastic actor :)

  • no movie footage, bad

  • 26 people missed the like button.

  • I love Hot Fuzz! =)

  • The last two movies were AWESOME!!! They were freaking hilarious. I cant wait for the third one which is The Worlds End. BTW, nice review.

  • I got it and thought it was hilarious XD

  • I enjoy Blunty's reviews but this one misfires. He spends the majority of it giving a synopsis. I am more interested in what he thinks about the movie than hearing the plot from start to finish. Obviously Hot fuzz is solid gold.

  • Funnily enough, I just found this review today and I watched this movie for the first time yesterday. What I really love about this movie is its fluid transition from action to comedy and it really does work well here.

  • To recommend something other than Spaced...

For more Nick Frost, check out 'Hyperdrive'.

And everything Simon Pegg touches is gold. He had a part in Season 2 of 'Black Books' starring Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey, (who also appeared in the Cornetto trilogy). Highly recommend Black Books.

  • I LUV IT!

  • I suggest Spaced

  • Now this is real comedy, I laughed throught the entire film!

  • this is one of my favorite movies

  • As an update, Blunty, what's your take on "Run Fatboy Run?" I was hesitant to see it because it didn't stay long in US theatres but shot straight to the discount DVD section at BestBuy!

  • This movies awesome i laughed at EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!

  • don't tell me the whole story, just tell me if its good or not

  • very very very very very very good Hot fuzz rawks

  • Like the gesticulation......

  • yeah, good idea, look on imbd, and state it as your own opinion.

  • FUZZ is british so british

  • Really you dont say shot in Britain by British actors you fuking retard and i am british Dick

  • are you stupid?

just because its filmed in britain doesnt meen the actors have to be british do they you complete faggot.

  • na i know for a fact that all of the actors in this are british the two are both British and most of the others are british so shut your fucking ignorant prick and i bet you think you are so big and think you know it all by calling me a faggot man shut your mouth and jog on

  • i love this film. good review. little fact, what they called sanford was actually wells in sommerset. i used to live there and they actually sell props from the film in some of the charity shops which they had given to them by the film crew. tho they might of sold by now.

  • and ya simon and nick are great thats why i love SOTD and hot fuzz

  • i keep watch their movies, there making a new one later on and im dieing to see it but i dont know why.

  • a couple of guys with a shit load of cutlery

  • Simon Pegg is a genius in comedy. I liked Shaun of the Dead better than Hot Fuzz, but I still loved Hot Fuzz. Them chasing down the goose was so funny.

  • lets go out back tonight!

  • i love that movie! Just saw Star Trek and Simon Peg was hilarious in that, too!

  • Blunty.

You should see Spaced. It's the TV show that got the Shaun of The Dead guys going. It's really good!

  • SEE! These movies show us all how amazing Britain can really be. We're not just some obscurely shaped bankrupt rock in the North-eastern Atlantic (well, we kinda are). I may be overshooting here but I think Britain is... urmm... the Mecca of randomly hilarious comedy

  • Of course our (british)comedy is the best comedy eg:faulty towers, sean of the dead, monty python, only fools and horses, the young ones and bottom :P

  • Jesus fuck I hate it when people say that.

We have tons of shit. James cordon and Matt Horne aren't funny, Catherine Tate isn't funny and others aren't funny.

  • james and matt are funny i didnt say catherine tate was....name some more in your opinion

  • Nah sorry, but we don't. You can't make that sort of generalisation.

  • blunty you miight be happy to know that they are doing a 3rd movie in the series and word is it might be a sifi spoof

  • yueah they call it the cornetto trilogy cos they are doing different flavour cornettos in each film (Hot fuzz original, Shaun of the dead strawberry) - the next cornetto will be mint flavour :L

  • yes the comidy genious based on an ice cream

  • I love the Blood and Ice Cream Movie trilogy, it always seems that British Comedy Movies are always more creative and intellignet, also funnier

  • when hot fuzz was coming out here ...my m8 and me were walking in the town on the way to a bar

i said to my m8 Do you feel like going to see the movie hot fuzz and this old lady infront of us turn and hit me over the head with her handbag

i guess she was thinking i was talking about a porn movie :/

  • lol

  • lmao

  • Nice knife on the wall, I have one, too. Excellent movie.

  • hot fuzz shaun of the dead run fat boy run 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000/10

  • those are three of my favorite movies...

  • are you gonna do a review on run, fatboy, run when it comes out? i think thats part of the "blood and ice-cream" trilogy

  • edgar wright was not involved with run fatboy run, therefore it's not part of the blood and ice cream trilogy. the 3rd blood and ice cream film is due out in 2010

  • thanks for the heads up

  • when you did an audio overlay(or whatever its actually called) what did you say instead of stephen pegg, it looked like sean penn...

  • do a shaun of the dead review

  • f'ing hilarious movie

  • the movie is just great - i laughed my ass of ... too bad it always comes out in germany later.

nice statement dude! keep the vibes up! 5 stars from berlin!

  • i figured as much this movie would kick ass. i really gotta rent it.

  • Brilliant Movie, in my Dvd collection along with Shaun of Dead and spaced, ps did you see Nick Frosts Danger 5,000 volts a Uk series.

  • Are you kidding? It is brilliant. By far and away my favourite movie (besides the holy grail). In comparison, dumb and dumber and austin powers are loads of dog shit.

Then again, that is just my opinion :P.

  • Holy Grail was brilliant but come on, better than Dumb and Dumber and all of the Austin Power films regarding comedy? I disagree.

Midnight Run is another that is much funnier than this too.

  • I love the scenes that involve words from a crossword puzzle. "FACIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!" "hag."

  • This movie is the best. I love how it goes from comedy to action.

  • it manages to be both a parody of a cop movie, and a good, action-y cop movie

  • Actually Dudemanguy1019 I think he says

    "Your off the fucking chain"

    I think idk

  • my favorite line is the part where frost says something like, did you throw him in the freezer and tell him to chill out?" and pegg says "no but did throw a teddy bear at him and said playtimes over"

    baha

  • "I distracted him with the cuddly monkey, then said 'Playtime's over, and I hit him with the peace lilly"

    "That's off the fuckin chain"

  • stfu

  • Hot Fuzz reminds of an Swedish movie called "Kopps" Were the a small group of cops get bored, and starting making up fake crime scenes. Funny movie. (i havent seen hot fuzz yet, so im not sure)

  • Blunty mate, if you like Pegg and Frost, you should definitely check out the series they did that predated SotD, 'Spaced'.

  • i saw it on a small screen part of the theater.

  • Blunty hi. have you seen the doc who cameo of simon pegg hes a good doc who baddie. Also what is your opion on the upcoming pegg movie run fat boy run do you think it will be as good as hot fuzz? plz leave a response bcause that would be soooo coool! :D

  • We'll see.

  • SQUEEEL THANK YOU BLUNTY XD

  • you bowt tawk wat?

  • Yeh spaced is ok, not as amazing as everyone says though.

  • (:0

  • You say you became a fan of Simon Pegg after seeing Shaun of The Dead, right? Where have you been hiding!? Have you never seen the hilarious and ground breaking TV series 'Spaced'? I would prefer to think that Hot Fuzz was directed and shot in the style of Spaced as was Shaun of The Dead, I also think that Spaced is superior to both movies.

  • by far the best movie,(besides shaun of the dead, was also one of the best movies)

  • I am gonna try seeing that tomorrow on my day off.

I freaking love shawn of the dead, i can't wait to see i in theaters!

  • you HAVE to see this film: robin hood, men in tights!

it's amazing! Mel Brooks is the genius behind the vid .

  • Seen it, own it.

  • Suan of the dead and Hot Fuzz were great movies!

  • I didn't see it cause I didn't like the Saun of the Dead

  • It is an amazing film. Need to see it again. anyone else think he looked a tiny bit like collin farrel there? no? just me then? yeah. im stupid.

  • You should watch Spaced

  • If you liked shaun of the dead and hot fuzz check out spaced. Its a sit com with simon pegg and nick frost about flatmates... fuckin hilarious

  • i absolutely LOVED Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the dead, both excellent. i have seen Hot fuzz 4 times, and Shaun of the dead alot more than i can count. I love the humour that alot of people miss out on, because they just dont get it, you know? Danger 50,000 volts is another funny series hosted by Nick Frost, and sometimes features Simon as well.

  • "accidents" 8D

  • I love Shaun of the Dead! It's so hilarious. I really want to see Hot Fuzz.

  • my advice, find any way/method to see it, it's really awesome

  • I will

  • You really should. Get to the theater before it leaves. It should be at the dollar shows at this point. Don't watch it at home. There's some spectacular shots and scenery that can only be appreciated in a theater.

  • What's a dollar show? I think they are still playing it at the drive-in near my house so i'll probably go there.

  • right on

  • I got my parents to watch it,even tho they hated shaun of the dead and they though hot fuzz was gunna be crap... but after watching it they loved it and i did to! Gr8 review!!

  • hot fuzz was the best movie ever

  • ya know i felt that the way they cut the action scenes and how they show the title at the end of it it felt like one GIANT preview to a godly movie lol

  • Peter Jackson is in HOT FUZZZ- GREAT FILM!!!

  • if u liked hot fuzz and shawn of the dead , then you should buy Spaced... it has simon pegg and nick frost in that too , VERY FUNNY

  • its a SWAN, but i agree

  • YT apparently is paying Blunty for his opinion..Unfortunately....Thumbs up, Thumbs down....who can tell, Shawn of the Dead had no preordained pompous non-sense, if I remember correctly. Oh, and listen to FM radio too,........

  • I did see it after your recomendation, and I loved it. I did see "Shaun of the dead" before, both great movies.

  • and the flip books :D

there on in bonus which is good

  • I know it amazing IT Must have been made by the police :P cos of the jokes. half my family are police :P

  • hiya blunty just to let u know the whole irony if this move is . the small town the and police station name .i forget it righ now but the name of the town and police station they do use in police training they ask question in protion papers and make up redicoule senareos so yer

  • I can't decide which I prefer, Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz... Have you seen Spaced? - it's a sit-com with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Probably the best new sit-com around at the mo.

  • New? Uh... Not new ;)

  • Compared to the ancient sit-coms on BBC?! New.

  • Yes, but you used the word new as if it had just started this season. It's from 1999, and it ran for two seasons. Therefore it's only broadcast as reruns, which means that it is not new. I could say that Will and Grace is new compared to Seinfeld, but they're both still over, and they're both not new. The definition of 'new' is something that is, in fact, new ;)

  • honestly i didnt enjoy this film...there all the same jokes and parodys from the hilarious shaun of the dead.

  • Too much synopsis, not enough review. Keep it up though!

  • You're off the fuckin' chain.

  • you really remind me of silent bob

  • Really? I thought he looked like Kevin Smith.

  • kevin smith and silent bob is the same. kevin smith plays as silent bob

  • Really? I had NO idea. And I have seen ALL of the Silent Bob films. And ALL of the Kevin Smith films. How could I have missed that? Hmmmmmm.......

  • CAn u list all the jay and silent bob films you've seen?

  • Hot Fuzz rocked!!

  • i absolutely loved shaun of the dead... awesome movie... cant wait to see hot fuzz...

  • I loved the amusing contrast between the high-octane direction - fast cuts, close ups, the music - and the dullness of the quaint little village of Sanford.

Treating the ordinary and humdrum goings on of a little village, as if it was the mean streets of New York or something.

  • A perfect parody because it demonstrates how you can make ANYTHING seem like it's big and epic and high-octane - even when it totally isn't - with the right camera angles and sound.

Brilliant movie. Well worth seeing, if you haven't already. :D

  • I saw the movie in the cinemas it is so kool - u guys should see it, I recommended it - it is hilarious - and i will repeat blunty words: if you dont like it there is somthing wrong with you!!!!!

  • I loved it but did think there were a few dull moments, or rather a large section of dull moments, but it all pays off in the end. great film.

  • I saw it twice at the cinema i loved it so much. And that is having not see Shaun of the Dead. I will be seeing Shaun of the Dead VERY soon i can promise. I cant believe i never haven't seen Shaun already.

  • my friend loves you. i like your all your normal videos. meaning not your perverted ones. check my vids out please

  • Wonderful...it started to sound like a plot summary there, but you cut it off just at the right time to keep it a review.

This movie has one of the better climaxes too...and the moments building up to it are just awesome.

  • Spot On! I actually went and saw it in theaters, which I never do. I adore Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Every single scene is a reference to something. And in some cases their use of those references are more meanful than the originals. It was brilliant. I really don't know how these guys do it.

  • I thought it was a great movie too :D One of the best recent movies

  • I LOVED this movie. I've seen it before, and I'd gladly watch it again. If only all supposed comedies were THIS funny.

  • I, too, am just a monkey in a barrel.

  • It's so strange hearing an Australian guy talk about places in Britain XD

  • "ACCIDENTS!"

  • HEY! If you didnt already know... Simon Pegg and Nick Frost had a sitcom here in UK called SPACED. Every episode is here on youtube. Check it out.

    stay cool

  • Loved it laughed so hard in the cinema....]he is a fun fact did you notice that "butterman" was looking at the shaun ofthe dead dvd in the shop! (my brother spotted that and i dont have a clue how! lol

  • The movie is simply great and very enjoyable, there are so many connections to other action movies, humor is really priceless, everything is just right. Thumbs up for your review as well! And your text as beginning was hilarious :D

  • I have been a fan of Simon pegg and Edgar Wright for year's way before Shaun of the dead. There are a few jokes in Shaun of the dead and hot fuzz witch you will not get unless you have see spaced more importantly the commentary.

  • What was up with the dubbed 'Simon Pegg' near the end?

  • Probably the greatest shirt I have ever seen in my life!

  • lol i saw it like a month before it came out in america infact i got a dvd version, this movie is awesome

  • Sounds like you were paid to talk about this movie, heheh.

I just watched it today and it instantly became one of my top favorites. I REALLY wish they hadn't advertised it as such a average comedy movie because that turned a lot of people from seeing it.

  • Shaun of the dead was epic. And after i went to see Hot Fuss in Cinema, it was just as excellent!

  • EXCELLENT MOVIE! I would also add that most of the same people (if not all) from Sean of the Dead are in Hot Fuzz! Back in April I must've seen it everyday for a week straight just taking different friends to see it! Cant wait for the dvd!

  • Now I gotta see it.

  • i love that movie it was so damn good

  • Watched the 'Spaced' series yet? Also, go to Hasslefree miniatures - interesting zombie hunter miniatures, may look a little familiar.

  • Shaun of the Dead > Hot Fuzz by a lil. =] That and I love Zombie movies but still.

  • it was a great movie. Can't wait for their next one.

  • you don't look that blunt anymore what happened?

  • Nice one Nate, Lookin forward to seeing the movie even more than I already did now!

    5*

  • great review, i love Hot Fuzz a lot too. definately the best time i have had in a movie theatre since Borat. i'm gonna buy the dvd when it comes out July 31st. although u didn't have to spend half of the review telling about the story.

  • What are those white covered DVD's in the background on your DVD rack? They look a little like Zeta Gundam DVD's..

  • I'm at the office right now, but from memory I think those would be the excell saga DVDs

  • Oh. I've always wanted to see Excell Saga..

  • Shaun of Dead was awesome and Hot Fuzz was great, too. I laughed so hard about the "accidents" and the ending sequence was just great. I highly recommend both movies.

  • Blunty, have you seen Gridhouse? Edgar Wright has a trailer in there. It's quite funny. "DON'T!" Lol.

  • I thought it was good but not as good as Shaun of the Dead - not that that's a bad thing at all, Shaun of the Dead is fantastic and would have been hard to beat... but I guess its just different. I liked the story of Hot Fuzz more though, that has to be said.

  • Yes!!. thank you. love it.

  • you stole that move from bob barker. the whole catch ya next time. he says goodbye everybody after the whole have your pets spayed or neutered thing but the same hand move thing.

  • I'm only even vaguely aware of the existence of this Bob Barker chap - we never got him on Aussie TV. In fact if it wasn't for pop culture referencing him occasionally I would have never heard the name. And I'd lay odds HE wasn't the first to use it either.

  • I know what you mean shaun of the dead is a good movie

  • I saw it, I loved it!

    Spot-on review 5*!

  • another good movie human traffic

  • now I just want to know who you name-checked instead of Simon Pegg, don't think I didn't notice that cover up ;)

oh, and if you haven't seen it already you'll love SPACED - absolute classic tv comedy where Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg learnt their craft - full of great movie in-jokes

  • Penn, not pegg... verbal typo ;)

  • Spinx was not here!!

  • wut happened at 3:44 its like u tried to do a voice over or some thing

  • I said simon Penn not pegg... didn't even notice till it was too late. I was in a rush so I did a quick hack job ADR.

  • Morning Angle...

  • Why does that style of editing sound vaguely familiar...

  • LOL, you may have a point.

  • You would like Spaced, it's full of cult show references and was directed by Edgar Wright and stars Nick Frost/Simon Pegg.

  • is this your official filming shirt? monkeys!

  • Oh, and sorry for the double comment. If you like Simon Pegg get your hands on Spaced. It's a show where he got his start, Nick Frost is in it too. The pilot episode is here on YouTube, search "Spaced Simon Pegg" If you like Simon Pegg then you should definitely watch the show, it's written by the same people who wrote Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.

  • Watch the movie a second or third time, every single line is forshadowing a future scene, lol.

  • did you know that edgar wright and simon pegg were in land of the dead?

  • Have you seen the series called SPACED by messers Pegg and Frost? It's on another level.
