  • WHAT MEMORIES!!!!

  • somebody build me a time machine, pls

  • @LeMang0s ditto that!

  • @LeMang0s

Yep, it;s the "Way Back Machine", used by the Proffesor & Poindexter on the " Rocky & Bullwinkle Show' back in the 60's!!! Sign me up,I will take the trip you! if you are old enough to remember, you're in!!!

  • Guitarist, bass?, by bird cage has the best hairdo of all time. Way beyond funk.

  • Was there when this tune was released in L.A. back then. This is wonderful.

  • real good props

  • Has "A Flock of Seagulls" ever given credit to the guitarist at :31 for originating the greatest hair-do of all time? (Or won't time let them?)

  • Hey Boys & Girls..... McNasty is my name and Rock & Roll is my game. When will time let you ???????????

  • The guy with the Beatle haircut actually slicked his hair back. I've seen pictures of him in the studio. How convenient.

  • So who's playing the organ?

  • @gdholmfirth So who's playing the organ?

Must be the same guy playing the horns. LOL!

  • Out of all the great songs from the late 60's, this one is in my Top 10 easily. It's got everything.....brass arrangements, guitar solo in the middle, great melody, great lyrics, and uptempo rhythm. An incredibly awesome tune!

  • Question...The guitarist that is sitting to Sonnys right..is that Al Austin, the guitarist that was killed in a car crash? he had such a promising future, he was only 19 when he passed..he was the one that did the fabulous solo in TWLM....

  • What the hell is up with the stuff flying out the window???

  • Shaggy but clean cut awesome song from the 60s .....

  • I saw them live at the Parma Ohio Rib Burnoff back in the early 90s. They still rock. Thanks Sonny for signing my old album.

  • 0:24

  • oops some did go on to become Climax in the early 72 of had another smash of course called Precious and Few and then again Never did another thing

  • perfect example of a group who had a great sound and song and almost amazingly never did another thing

  • I Had Played this Classic Many Times with YesterYear..

    Exellent Classic.

    Al T

    Alvis T

  • Vietnam Rock n Roll War era.

  • A medley of their greatest hit!

    ;-)

  • Transitional haircuts, etc. Rat Pack meets garage meets...

  • Thanks for the good times, Sonny Geraci!

  • Awesome.

  • Great! The memories,WOW!

  • Hard to believe he sang for Climax also. Lots of difference between "Precious and Few" and "Time Won't Let Me".

  • @Sherlocktoo a few years also, lol

  • GREAT ~~~~~~~~~~~~

  • Badass baseline...he's jammin

  • Yes a great song and haven't heard it for a long while, but nice to see and hear it now. ;)

  • I really liked this tune when it was new and I still like it! Good mid sixties rocker that was about as good as anything out there.

  • Rush Limbaugh has this song in his bumper rotation

  • The singer reminds me of Chachi (Scott Baio) js

  • I have this 45 the younger people wont know what that is But hay I had a 8track in the dash in my first new car a 1972 toyota the good old day7s BG

  • @firefieldmpt my son when he was small thuoght my album was a big CD

  • The drummer performing is NOT Jimmy Fox (later formed the James Gang that Joe Walsh later joined). Jimmy was a session drummer on the Outsiders album on all but two songs. He did not play drums on this song. The drummer in recording and the band here I believe is Ronald Harkai.

  • Best get the name of the Band right YouTube. They were the "Outsiders", not the "Outsider".

  • ricky nelson or what?

  • Dig the pomp on the bass player.

  • @NYhomewrecker The bass doesn't have six strings, genius.

  • @IslandMyk What the hell are you talking about?

  • @NYhomewrecker, apparently, IslandMyk doesn't know that "pomp" means a "pompadour" hairstyle. Good call on spotting it BTW. to anyone: is that a Hoffner violin bass similar to the one played by Paul McCartney around that time (except Paul's was left-handed)?

  • one of the best trumpet runs ever...

  • never seen a band w/ better haircuts

  • Great song.

  • Chachi, where's Joanie?

  • ricky nelson with a bufoont

  • outsiders rule

  • hall of fame

  • way cool, love the hairstyles, but where are the horns? I want to see the horn section.

  • KITTY..TIME WONT LET ME WAIT FOREVER 4 U..AND I WOULD IF I HAD A CHANCE WITH U..DAMN...I ADORE U...LOOK WHAT ONE NIGHT COULD DO TO A GUY??????U HAVE MAGNATISM THAT IS TOO MUCH FOR MOST OF US TO HANDLE..BUT IM NEVER GIVING UP ON U..X0X0..p

  • The lead singer looks like he has to go potty.

  • Brillant!

  • I had the original Capitol LP that included this cut and their other Capitol LP as well and as far as I know they only released the two (I could be wrong) but, from their era, they were so good! Both LP's are great.

Also, the bands name is "The Outsiders"

  • One of my favorite songs at 14. Used to dance like crazy to this!

  • chachi in charge...

  • The drummer's cool. From a former rock band drummer

  • @77tomelliott1 That drummer (Jimmy Fox) later formed a band with Joe Walsh, called the James Gang!

  • one of the GREATEST recordings of that era !!!

  • @TheMoonchildiva

    I agree!

  • Please visit Tom King and the Outsiders on facebook lots of videos, stories,

and pictures like us on facebook

  • sorry but these guys r good from cleveland ohio i knew the band hung around and partied with them i dated 1 of their sons!

  • the best invention is satilite radio so I can listen to all of the great music from the 60s and 70s BG

  • Good group from Cleveland, Ohio. Sonny just died a couple of months ago i think RIP

  • @brownindian17 This will come as a big shock to Mr. Geraci, who, by all indications, is still very much alive and active as of early September 2011, if his website is to be believed. Search-engine for it.

  • @brownindian17

NO, Sonny is still very much with us! I think you are thinking of the lead singer for The Grass Roots.

  • The band's name is The Outsiders, not Outsider

  • Dude, learn how to tell time& that way time will let you!

  • lol@the mongoloid on the drums

  • @SuperStormfront MONGOLOID ON THE DRUMS?!?!

    That's purty harsh, dude

  • @DancingSpiderman

"Mongoloid" is sort of off base, but the drummer does rather look like a precursor to Steve Moore - youtube.com/watch?v=ItZyaOlrb7E&NR=1&feature=fvwp

  • Had the pleasure to see Mr. Sonny Geraci a few years ago as he filled in for the late and great Rob Grill of the Grass Roots. Did a great job and it was like a double treat.

  • I am the lead singer, no really.

  • I want to blow the lead singer.

  • time didn't let 7 people

  • It's Sonny Jerotchee, or jeracey if you prefer, spelt G-E-R-A-C-I. He was hired as the lead singer with a view to being a Paul McCartney or Marc Lindsay pretty-boy frontman.

  • Is that Ralph Machio singing?

  • Is that Patrick Swayze on bass?....lol

  • grooovy

  • Another great oldie!!!

  • What happened at 1:41. Some women's undergarments went flying up in the air from behind the drummer. They all kept a straight face!

  • @BCRSIX LOL How cool was THAT?? Thanks for pointing it out!

  • singer went on to have a hit in the seventies with a band called Climax. "Precious and Few"

  • The first 45 i ever bought.

  • Sonny Geraci still going strong performing today! And he went onto sing another classic "Precious and Few" when he fronted the group Climax.

  • @Farinadog13 I fondly remember both.

I wonder how many times he sang this and "Precious?" I'll bet that he will enjoy it for as long as he life.

  • gee when i was a teenager i played this song over and over great stuff

  • Paulyvi.... your bud IS clueless. I guess ya hadda BE there............ in 1966.

  • On a real cranking tune, why are 2 guitarists sitting on their asses?

  • lead singers got a hanky in his coat breast pocket, sorry but slap him please!!

  • @dempsey981 Forty-five years too late! lol

  • @theprophet20 slap him anyway,he thinks hes tony bennet or something ha ha.

  • @28drew28 Absolutely right! The bass line could almost stand on it's own. Wonder where he got the idea to play a Höfner.

  • This song is a classic! I can't stop listening to it. Great bass line!

  • While reading the comments on this song, I am amazed to read the crap posted. This song was released in the 60's, MTV didn't exist, and bands were promoted (pushed) on talent, not appearance. There was a great line by Coolio on Bill Maher's show Politically Incorrect that was, "MTV has promoted too many people based on appearance alone that have no right being in the music business>" Not an exact quote, but you get the picture.......this song, A CLASSIC!!!

  • @blowe98 Before MTV ruined the music industry, there was Shindig & American Bandstand. That's where true young raw talent was showcased back in the day. Bands like this one, Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Guess Who, etc. The good ol' days, before goo goo & ga ga.

  • @StevieB1362 where the action is;was another hot show.......dick clark was the producer. the 60's is when artists had meaning. today, some of them just talk/try to sing but do not mean anything........lady ga ga is a good example....she has a power voice but nothing comes out the right way in my opinion

  • Thanks for posting . I forgot what a cool 60's band they were. Cheers.

  • time one let four people press the ike button.

  • I'm doing a report on them, and I just need someone to confirm if Wikipedia has their info correct. It says this is the list of members Tom King (deceased) Sonny Geraci Chet Kelley Mert Madsen Howard Blank Al Austin Ronnie Harkai Denny Benson Ricky Baker Bill Bruno Richard Kriss Jimmy (Jim) Fox Bob Turek Walter Nims Mike Geraci Evan Vanguard Tommy Baker Richard D'Amato Pete Shelton Richie D'Angelo Dan Donavan Joe Prodrasky Mario Vinciguerra
  • One of the greatest pop songs ever written, recorded, and performed live!

Great Farfisa organ tones! Too bad the volume is too low on this YouTube

video to give this great song its just due! I love it just as much as I did in

    1966! I visited the Rock N' Roll Museum in 1997,their hometown,Cleveland,

    Ohio.

  • @loungerenownrecords there hometown really is Ashtabula Ohio, which is outside cleveland. Trust me on this one.

  • @jonasshandel1 that is one of the dumbest comments i've ever heard, Better you say nothing at all next time

  • @RetroGoop lololol

  • This performance is from "Hullabaloo". 1966. The drummer that played on the original record got drafted, so the drummer in this video joined them for the tour once the single started getting airplay. Later went on to form The James Gang.

  • RIP Tom King..

  • I know Howard Blank (the drummer), he's a good man. He tells me the best jokes. I'm not lying

  • my bud is like...how can u like this?

n im like...how can u NOT like this?

    he thinks im strange...

    i think he is clueless...

    so were even...))

  • @paulyvi Yep I agree with you

  • @paulyvi

I feel ya on that! Story of my life!!

  • Great song and another rock group from Cleveland, Ohio, The heart of Rock and Roll, RIP Tom King

  • R.I.P. Tom King - thanks for this song! Great memories!

  • @januarypeace how cum u said R.I.P. Tom King?

    is he the singer?

    i LUV this tune btw...))

  • @paulyvi Tom King co-wrote "Time Won't Let Me"...Sonny Geraci is the lead singer.

  • @januarypeace ty for the answer...peeps who write the songs dont usually get recognized which is sad...the singers usually get all the attention but now i know who co-wrote it...i just found this and ive had it in my head all day...u know how sometimes u get a tune in ur head and u cant shake it out? i was actually layin in bed n im like why cant i shake this tune! ha...anyway thnx n i like ur name Ms Januarypeace...))

  • @paulyvi yw & thanks Pauly - if you google Thomas King you might find other things about him - he played guitar and someone said in his obit that he played sax (I didn't know that - even though I am from the Cleveland area.) This song will live on forever!

  • This guy lives an hour away from me in Chagrin Ohio. Never new that

  • I remember when this came out. I still love this tune after all these years....great memories of the past.

  • their follow-up Shes So Respectable shoud have been a hit too.

  • #179 best songs of the 60s time wont let me

  • Great song...really bad hair! :)

  • @stratocat9999 This can't be the original .. not raunchy enough .. right? It's only bad hair if these guysare ugly and these guys aren't. Also this version is too soft .. maybe they are having a bad hair day.

  • @11xzxzxz No it's not the original, it's a TV performance. They are live along with the actual record. It was a common practice in TV when a band was on a show live, to either have them lip-sync ( mime), or play against a mix without a vocal track, or in this case, play live with the record. It was rare to hear a band without a tape assist of some kind on most programs, unless it was in a major studio/theater. The Sullivan Show was one of the few that would have a band play without tape assist.

  • @stratocat9999 Yeah that makes sense I should have realized that. Funny whenever one thinks of Ed Sullivan one thinks of his laying down the law on a lyrics. "No damn it you fucks" says Ed "you are not going to say 'Higher' it's got to be 'Better". Wish he had been on long enough to have David Bowie and the gender benders. "Now David you can only dress as a guy and your skirt must be below your knees" take care.

  • @stratocat9999 "Shindig" was another.

  • @altfactor Yup!

  • The lead singer is Sonny Geraci who also was the lead singer of Climax with the hit "Precious and Few". he still is performing and I get to see him at least once a year and sometimes more. A great person.

  • It was a rule in the '60s that you had to either have a nerdy Bill Gates look alike with glasses, and or a fat guy. This band has both! LOL!

  • CLEVELAND ROCKS !!!!!!

  • looks like a young mitch album detroit radio host

  • Bassist and drummer run this $#!t...

  • You can't wait forever, but this song seems to last forever! (That's a good thing).

  • I remember watching these guys on television....

  • The lead singer lives in Ohio close to wheer I live. Love this song

  • I hear someone playing the organ. Where or who is the keyboad musician?

  • @laurie8882 - the keyboard player is Jonathan Schuler, an uncredited keyboard role on this recording

  • what year is this??? 66?? 67?? Im just throwing a wild guess out there.

  • Rock on Sonny

  • My favorite song from high school. We never saw what they looked like. There was no way to do it then.

  • Doesn't the lead singer look a lot like Scott Baio of "Chachi"??

  • The lead singer is hot...wow...damn! Wonder what he looks like now, ;)

  • i take lessons from the drummer in this band.

  • @theEddievanhalen Seriously?

  • @imupwiddat yup. howard blank!

  • @theEddievanhalen Not the guy seen here, but he was in this band prior.

  • Sonny's hairdo was ahead of it's time. I wore my hair like that throughout the late 70s - early 80s and it was still in style!

  • What a great song. Classic 60's garage rock. Check out the head stock on the bass guitar That's a pretty rare Italian made Eko Bass. Nice post.

  • Great song.LOL! video. Never saw this band before. Thanks!

  • all these guys are seriously cute, but the singer is a babe. The screamin' trumpet is delicious - thanks for the information on the soloist.

  • Time won,t let me waite.A guy thing. It great.Carry that computer with you so you listen to faviorates.Out with radioe.

  • Time won,t let me waite.A guy thing.It great.

  • slownoman...spent a lot of time at Laguna beach 64-65 when iwas stationed at El Toro Marine Air Base....great friggin memories

  • cool

  • GO GUITAR!!!

  • Great video thanks for posting. Jimmy Fox on the drums who later played with the James Gang.

  • Vintage!!!

  • When I hear this song, it's the first week of April, 1966, and I'm with the first great love of my life at Laguna Beach. It was her favorite song. I'll never forget it, or her. Ever.

  • The Outsiders were a Cleveland group, but instrumental tracks were laid down in LA. The screaming trumpet part was played by a high school kid from Montebello, California, the late Johnny Madrid, who ended up being one of the top players in the business.

  • One of the best, dude!

  • Sonny Geraci was the lead singer also of the band Climax which had the hit "Precious and Few".

  • Cleveland ROCKS!

  • The Outsiders were truly great.

And this video is special - all the vocals are freshly sung, including three on mike and a couple of background shout-alongs off-mike, just like in the original recording. But here it's not lip-synched - although the instrumental mix is played back from the recording you get real live singing and its energy is just super.

I'd love to know what TV show this was from. I'll bet it was Australian (as was the band itself, I believe).

  • @Avon53 The Outsiders were from Cleveland, Ohio USA.

  • Thank you!

  • Brings back great memories from the 60,s

  • Look also for 'She's Coming On Stronger' .. Not to be confused with 'The Outsiders', a Dutch sixties band featuring Wally Tax..

  • @bs800250 How about the group Outside The Box.

In the 60's there were a lot of crossover bands

like the Outsiders. They played for straight

audiences and then would play for gay audiences.

The Outsiders were known as the Outhouses

    when they went gay!

Many gay performers played the accordian.

  • Love the drummer got the moves
