I LOVE the Gears multiplayer. I love the jerky and delayed movements. I love the lag. I love the piss-poor hit detection and aim. I love the backwards scoring system. I love shotgun headshots. I love how several achievements can not be earned by playing Annex. I love how the creators made over half the achievements only earn-able on this multiplayer, WHICH I LOVE. I LOVE YOU, EPIC. <3

It has something to do with what you wrote since you mentioned the numbers of people who play it.

I'm not very good at Gears, I accept that but that's neither here nor there. The fact is the the game has a very poor server side hit detection model that makes play outside a very localized area almost impossible. The whole point in playing online is to test yourself against other players around the world, not much chance of that when someone in the room always has a distinct advantage.

Host Advantage completely destroyed this game. A game isnt really fun unless its fair for both parties playing. Those who claim to have skill enough to always beat a host are liars. Granted a host isnt indestructable, but if the players of are equal skill, the host will win. I kept within the top 1000, and got the seriously achievement to be persnickity, but wouldnt play the game any further than that. When the game wore thin on me I'd play Raven Down and host it, for a sure 35+ kills a match.

That has nothing to do with the host ad. Because neither you nor your enemy were moving when you shot, lag was clearly not a factor. That video simply shows "PS" (Powerless Shotgun). During random moments (sometimes for whole matches at a time), some players are cursed with PS. With PS, hitting a still enemy directly with 5 active rounds from 10 feet often won't down them -- nor will 2 or 3 up close "killshots." The host is inflicted with PS as often as any other player.
