2GB memory isnt everything. You need a strong processor, prefferably a dual core and up.
But wait....all that still isnt enough. You need one of those high end graphic cards. Actually, its all in the GPU and if you're an NVIDIA fan, you'll need at least an 8 series and up. If you can afford the 8800GTX, even better. If you can afford the 9800 GX2, way to go. But you'll have to part with upto $600 for that one.

xp dx9 30fps (vsync limited,lcd screen) only bugging thing is not storing textures for long enough, there's noticable loading switching views, you'll see a textureless cockpit for a sec or 2. this is due to my card only having 256 mb and has to swap textures due to the limited memory space. it still runs fine otherwise though.

Hmm... I think you wouldd be able to get about 30FPS With the PMDG 747X .. I dont know in the standard planes but i guess around 80-100FPS.. But not sure ^^
go to Google and type 'flight simulator x tweaks' there are lots of tweaks to make your system run FSX better, even adjusting your bandwidth in the config file. Have a read and you will notice improvements.

What pisses me off is the fact that computer manufacturers can easily build us a super-computer like system on the cheap but instead we are forced to upgrade every 4 years just to play some of the cool games. If you want to buy a manufactured system that's capable of producing decent graphics, I'm afraid I wouldn't know very well what to choose as I would personally never buy a manufactured system.

Try Download FRAPS, it tells you frames per seconds, You start with low low setting, then babystepping turning up graphics, and test it, make sure Frames per seconds don't drop under 30 or 29. If it does, try decrease graphical settings.
people listen up...i've been doing some recent tweaking in FSX and i've found the best performance boost is to upgrade to a core 2 and overclock it to 3GHz.FSX will run sooooo much better when u do this.The game is VERY cpu dependent.also at least 1GB of DD2800 memory.AND an X1900 or 7950 series gpu at least.8800 is recommended.

aww i was looking forward to the graphics and theyre great.. just disappointed at the fact that most of the landscape is STILL flat. i dont like crash landing on a flat house.
well the grafics are the "worst" part, an 6100 is way to small for that game. but if you disable shaders, resolution only 1024x768 and no AA or just 2x and everything else medium it should run. and if it doesnt run fine than, just make all setings low as possible and than go slowly up, first raise the resolution, than AA, textures etc. til u feel comfortible ^^.

oh yer system crashes, or shut down due to the PSU being overloaded and hence being over heated.

Sounds like yours will work...Really fast processor, decent amount of RAM...video card should work better than mine, so yeah, should work fine

yes, I got AMD dual core 4400's and 2 gigs of ram and the same GeForce 8500 card you got and it works fine on my rig

My system is an Athlon64 3000+ (Winchester core) with 1GB DDR and a GeForce 6600 standard. I run fine with medium-high settings, plus maxed AA and AF.
If you want to buy a manufactured system that's capable of producing decent graphics, I'm afraid I wouldn't know very well what to choose as I would personally never buy a manufactured system.

To move the wheel while taxing, you need to control the rudder, which also controls the wheel on the ground as well. To do that make sure num lock is off, and press num-0 to turn left, num-enter to turn right, and press num-5 to make everthing steer center again.

What would be the best setting for me to get the best looking FsX while not laggign to death? ATM I have pretty muc heverythign on High and I lag a bit.

Try Download FRAPS, it tells you frames per seconds, You start with low low setting, then babystepping turning up graphics, and test it, make sure Frames per seconds don't drop under 30 or 29. If it does, try decrease graphical settings.

people listen up...i've been doing some recent tweaking in FSX and i've found the best performance boost is to upgrade to a core 2 and overclock it to 3GHz.FSX will run sooooo much better when u do this.The game is VERY cpu dependent.also at least 1GB of DD2800 memory.AND an X1900 or 7950 series gpu at least.8800 is recommended.

Man i ahve a Quadcore CPU and two 8800GTX's. To play the game maxed the FPS goes to 20 FPS even with that sp1. i ran better in XP FFS

I upgraded to a dual core, (2.6Ghz, 2048MB DDR 2 RAM) and a N Vidia Geforce 7500- 512MB Video Memory.
Maxed out everything at 21fps.
When flying in detailed American cities, 15fps.
OS- Vista premium.
Its all in the Graphics card and the RAM

I have dual core 3.2 each, 1024mb DDR with an XFX 8400gs. Do you guys think i should get a different card? . It plays the game demo on most settings very high at 25 Fps. But i get some graphical lag along the way sometimes. Any idea of what card you would recommend? Bearing in mind i have pci-e . cooling is fans (from my xblade case) XD

aww i was looking forward to the graphics and theyre great.. just disappointed at the fact that most of the landscape is STILL flat. i dont like crash landing on a flat house.

You can bet it won´t run in a t2050 with just 512 mb. Don´t try it.

i have a GEFORCE GO 6100 and a AMD TURION 64X proccesor + 2014 MB ram wich settings are the best for me? i always laggs on ultra high

well the grafics are the "worst" part, an 6100 is way to small for that game. but if you disable shaders, resolution only 1024x768 and no AA or just 2x and everything else medium it should run. and if it doesnt run fine than, just make all setings low as possible and than go slowly up, first raise the resolution, than AA, textures etc. til u feel comfortible ^^.
