When DC did the Crisis reboots they kept the numbering of these four comics books Action, Detective, Superman, Batman (Superman had slight title change but same publication and same numbering), so why do they really need to renumber these titles now? People have been started reading them all through out most of DC's Seventy Six years of Publishing history at different times, having big numbers does not scare away most people from reading these four comics.

Next month there will be four new comic book titles (among the 52) that will have the same names as these four venerable and esteemed titiles and will ne issue 1's BUT they will not actually be the same publications.
DC comics is not doing a reboot, so far the only hero in DC comics that I know of getting a Reboot is Static Shock.
Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are NOT being rebooted. they are just makeing the heroes younger with new costumes. Batman Inc is still going to exist in the new DC universe. it's just Dick Greyson is going back to being Nightwing and babs is going back to being Batgirl.
I LIKE THE REBOOT! Take that internet! I'm exicted to read new blue beetle, new firestorm, new deadman, swamp thing! I think everythings going to be fine!

Although it'd be nice if Bruce Wayne came back. They MAAAY even make Dick Grayson Robin again which would be good but man... So much history going down the drain.

@Carnage1235 It's not "going down the drain" seriously, almost every character has been changed in some way or another from the start, Superman has had a ton of different origin stories and allot of different style suits. They are just marketing it as something new and exciting when really this is nothing to get up in arms about, it's not like all your favorite comics must be thrown out, this is just so they can pull in new fans and keep the franchises going and going and going.
You should try reading some Marvel too, even though Batman is my all time fav. I'd suggest reading Spiderman and X-men to begin with as I personally find they have the greatest stories and most colourful characters. Some storylines worth reading are:
Marvel: The Phoenix/Dark Phoenix saga, Old Man Logan, The Green Goblins last stand.
DC storylines: The death of Superman, The Dark knight returns, Batman Year one, The long halloween, Green Lantern: Rebirth.
Everyone you ask about the DC reboot will give you different opinions weather they LOVE DC or HATE DC.
I personally dont mind the DC reboot. Do i think it could of kept going without it? Yes.
But i trust DC knows what they are doing and i trust that they will not dissapoint.
I also think this is a PERFECT opportunity for people that have been wanting to read comic books to start. That IS one of the reasons why DC is going for this reebot.

Its not a full on reboot, they're just picking and choosing what they wanna keep and not (hence their best 2 titles are basicly the same). Your current nohow is probably prime for the reboot (after u get to brightest day and stuff) considering Geoff Johns is basicly shaping the new Universe.
Not that much into dc, but do love Power Girl. Got really into Walking Dead though.
