  • it's such a relief to go 4-track. i just switched from cubase to portastudio.

  • Yeah, yeah blah blah blah... but what has this guy ever done really?

    Seriously though:

EK is a virtual walking history of 60-90's rock with sage studio wisdom, it is very cool he likes to share!.

  • Met him today!

  • I met Eddie in 1994 while playing a live radio broadcast from the Power Station studio in Rochester N.Y. It was a honor and I being a drummer he told me, "Bang on those fucking drums!". I got to meet Eddie Kramer!! Weee!!

  • Wisdom.

  • what is a ssl

  • @pedrobp666 Solid State Logic - google it...

  • A hand talker

  • What a classic... theres not many of these guys still around. They should be praised for making such history.

  • i go listen to some zeppelin now.

  • @TheRuobi haha!

  • As far as the bouncing tracks goes....Im assuming if ,while bouncing, Each track needs to be 100% top quality full signal on EACH bounce you do..Otherwise if its NOT 100% it will sound way less than it actually was at the end as fara squality loss on the final product.

  • Just a slight factual aside: At the opening, it presents Eddie as "the... producer of Hendrix and Led Zeppelin," which isn't actually the case. While he did co-produce a few of Hendrix's posthumous releases, it was Chas Chandler who produced the first two 'Experience' albums, with Jimi taking over on Band of Gypsys and Electric Ladyland, Kramer serving the role of engineer. The same being true for Led Zeppelin's catalogue, all of which was produced by Jimmy Page.

  • @WilliamBlackWolf well producing and engineering arent all that different.....either way he's cool!

  • @WilliamBlackWolf I dont think chas chandler knew alot about tape effects. anyone can say "make it sound great!"

  • I hate technology, I want tape and experimentation back!!!

  • old people and computers... whataya gonna do...

  • i couldn't stop looking at the little meters in the backround moving up and down xD

  • Trust! This is what I have for Eddie.

  • Grandissimo Eddie Kramer!

Anche Stefan Di Maria e i Feelgood hanno avuto l'onore di lavorare con lui per l'incisione di un nuovo brano! Venite sul nostro canale per conoscere meglio Stefan...

Stefan Di Maria Feelgood and had the honor of working with him for the recording of a new song! Come to our channel to learn more about Stefan :)

  • He looks like the scientist of mixing

  • Eddie Rules......

  • yeah,he's absolutely right

the choice is the hard part ... different mikes, guitars, instruments,eq before or after..

thats the part that can make recording hard but also very interresting cause many ways lead to rome..

  • great person and great artist

  • Is Eddie Kramer American or British? His accent is a mix of each - he prounounces certain words in an English accent, but for other's it's American (or canadian, eh)

  • He's South African.

  • @demravager he's South African, studied in england.

  • hahaha he is using an Icon, the biggest mouse in the world, still pretty cool

  • @EarthFMEnterprises

Big mouse:) Well, if he is really resigning to mixing in pro tools as so many are, thats deffinately the mouse you want. I actually prefer the layout of the D command but I may only hope to afford the C24. I still cant justify the 20k difference.. at least for my budget.

  • no such thing as a perfect mixdown - K-Dub

  • @KDubTheEngineer What do you mean?

  • I'm that 38 year old kid Eddie !!! Cool.

  • lol im that 19 yr old kid eddie

  • Aha look at the sound levels in the background

  • i wish i could just squeeze my brain over a record and have music recorded the way i like it, this technical stuff is a never ending labyrinth

  • There's no substitute for figuring most of the session out in the pre-production stage. There are A LOT of options for the engineer (recording and mix) in the digital domain!

  • tottaly agrre.

but in some cases you don´t have time or cash to pre-production stage. especially if is an artist not a band creating music.

  • I wish i could just kick it in the studio with this dude and get some ideas

  • Nice touch having his voice routed through all the gear behind and the meters bouncing away as he talked :)

  • @wattage2007 i noticed that too in fact, i thought it was so cool it was probably the only thing i payed attention to in the video lol, thats not saying i dont have a lot of respect for eddie lol

  • I've always found Eddies opinions on bounces interesting. Having to commit to an idea and see it through to the bitter end.

  • really interresting

  • This dude is the shit.

  • why?

  • Why not?

  • Agreed

  • Why? Why? How bout Led Zeppelin? Jimi Hendrix? The Stones? David Bowie? Anthrax? Traffic? Buddy Guy? Led Zeppelin? Jimi Hendrix? Zeppelin? Zeppelin? Hendrix? Need I say more?
