Context please. Michael is known for being sensationalist, exaggerating, and twisting phrases to make his own points. (1) What is the bigger problem: honour killings or domestic violence? More "Catholics" commit domestic violence than Muslims, and more Protestants than Wiccans. (2) Cops are allowed to lie in the course of their duties - doesnt make them Muslim, just morally reprehensible. (3) "Honour" violence permeates most religions - its the un-grounded people, not the faith.

You dont need to be a radical muslim to believe in honour killings. The overall teachings of islam although not referred to specifically in the quran support this type of behaviour. We really cant believe any assertions by muslims on this subject because they are allowed to lie to infidels inorder to put the faith in a positive light. Their families were also considered as "peaceful and law-abiding" ....until the daughters decided they wanted to have western lives and then the peace and civility went out the window. If you dismiss them all as violent people and isolate them from society - you will make it easier for the radicals to recruit more people. Just like they do in US prisons.

If you hit the offenders hard, and leave the peaceful ones alone - there's a better chance that they will abandon their old ways.

If you hit the radicals hard, and encourage the peaceful ones to assymilate - they will. US Muslims have a pretty high level of education. Some reports say over 40% have degrees.

So as long as you keep the appeasement enthusiasts away, the peaceful ones can prosper.
