  • they look like 70s porn stars

  • jeeze, what a blast from the past this is!

  • OMG! I used to love this!!!!

  • I saw this in Málaga TV. xD

  • very vague memories of wtching this

  • it's prounounced sentinel i and robot mo

  • more 80's JUNK where the action figure came first and the plot 2nd. 80's cartoons are crap

  • @impalax327 It's from the 70's.

  • I wish someone would upload an episode; space sentinels, young sentinels, who cares, as long as you get to see them in action.

  • I'm a huge fan of 1980s cartoons, but I never saw 'Space Sentinels' before.

    Thank goodness for YouTube! (^_^)

  • @VideoQuestEx Its fromnthe 70'snot the 80's.

  • @Bladestar7:

Very true: 1977, from what I gather on WikiPedia.

    Thanks for the info.

  • Awesome!!! I remember this as the "Young Sentinels" as a Saturday morning cartoon on NBC, about 11:00 AM EST. Hercules eventually became a member of The Freedom Force. Mercury looks like Super Samurai from the Freedon Force and Astrea looks like Micro Woman from "Super Stretch and Micro Woman"...sort of. Anyway, this cartoon was awesome and sooo underrated. Thanks for posting!!!

  • Ohhhhh my goshhhhhhh!!!! I'd forgotten ALL ABOUT these!!! And I can't believe I did because I used to LOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVE watching this show!!! Thank you for adding them!!! I am beyond words of joy!!!

  • I seem to remember this was set in 1984...the future!

  • great ! this programme has been buggin me for ages.. i rememberd sentinel one but not much else.. glad to have been remineded, thanks :)

Anyone remember the episode when sentinel one went bonkers?

  • Sorry,my mistake this premiered 9-10-1977.

  • At the end of the clip it shows copright 1987.This was made the same time as He-Man & the Masters of the Universe. This is not from the 1970's.

  • @zaiyudt This show first premiered on September 10, 1977. End of the clip states copyright 1977.

  • @zaiyudt Actually this WAS made in the 1970's, but it probably had gone into syndication in 1987. In short, many of us remember this as it aired on TV...in 1977, we were there in front of our TV sets watching this show on Saturday morning...where were you?

  • What's with the unnecessary race tolerance ?

White black and yellow. I think they are overdoing it sometimes. Like Captain Planet and a cartoon about a super family - always a member of each race. If there is a race missing then the show is racist. I have nothing against people from different origins but sometimes it gets ridicilous. This one is fine, but if you add all cartoons with colourful race pool together you'll see what I mean.

  • Now I really do feel old.

  • I remember watching this,..but don't rememer any of the episodes, tho!

  • i remember it ! old good animations

  • Doesn't anybody have an episode of this?

  • i had an episode or 2 on vhs!!the only one i remember was when they fought the norse god Loki XD

  • this is too old school mid seventies?

  • Zordon and alpha's first attempt at making a super hero team kind of blew up in their faces. :P

  • When did this show come out? I must have missed this one....

  • Fall 1977

  • i thought i knew a lot about cartoons, but this one slipped by me. Love the old school animation............

  • ....stay in school

  • 0:44 Who knew Mel was mentoring and abducting children before he met Dr. Blythe.

  • I'm old enough to remember when this was called "The Young Sentinels".

I can't help wondering if MO from this inspired MO from WALL-E. They even look a bit alike.

  • Same here, I didn't recognize the title as Space Sentinels.

  • @Edotter

I remember they were called the "The Young Sentinels" too. I use watch this cartoon every saturday morning. I use to love this cartoon.

  • @Edotter Definitely "The Space Sentinels"

  • hercules!!! fffsssiinnn hahahahaha!!!

  • i dont remember any astria from history, LOL

  • sentinel-1 computer face looks exactly like the Mal computer in captain planet.

...it's very sad that i know that

  • 00:32 gloria gaynor??

  • WHAT?? No Jews?

    You insensitive bastards.

  • Those three young earthlings were selected carefully.

  • i was looking at Battle of the Planets when I remembered this.

Its like a futuristic Bennetton ad.

    Brings back fond memories.

  • what a politically correct team. they only need a disabled team member to complete them.

  • whahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaa !

  • Did Leo Scheimer just sit around all day creating awsome cartoons?

  • I've spent several years trying to recall th ename of this cartoon I used to watch over my tea after school. Relaly loved this but for some reason it was almost lost in my memory - until now!! Thansk you tube! Love you all Banstead! Matt

  • I remember I used to come home after school and watch this cartoon as many other old cartoons...brings back a lot of memories...I miss them

  • how? it use to come on CBS saturdays around 1976 at 8 in the morn i was 5 and i use to love it. it wasn't a weekday afternoon show i think your thinking about he-man

  • well I used to watch it on cartoon network... and we live on different continents I see :))

  • Wow. I haven't seen this in 3 decades. I remember that they used the same Hercules as in the Tarzan and the Super 7 freedom force.

  • it sure does bring back some memories.

  • I used to love this, I'm ashamed to say... :)

FTR, this was recently mentioned in David Mitchell's excellent novel "Black Swan Green" which is set in 1982 Britain...

  • I remeber freedom force and tarzan but i barely remember this show.MAN I'M OLD

  • oh my god i forgot all about this cartoon.loved it.

  • I have this on video. One of my earliest memories - it really affected me for some reason, and I spent years hunting this out. 'Tarzan lord of the jungle' aired at about the same time as this I think? This is class though...

  • wow this really exposes my age, lol. i remember this use to come on at first at 8:30 in the morning then they changed it to 11:00 on CBS..

  • ok, since u sound like an expert what can u remember about an old space adventure cartoon , with a guy, a girl and her little brother, a fat guy and one skinny with glasses, in time of crises they have wings appear, i dont know if that makes any sense at all, and they fight eveil. Cant remember more.

  • no it makes sense, give me a few days i'll remember it...lol i was a cartoon fiend when i was young so i saw it all....

  • Battle of the Planets (G-Force) perhaps?

  • yeeeeeeeeeeeeeees, ur absolutley right... G-Force...

I found it... AT LAST... wrenjohnson >>> thanx a mil

  • I think you're talking about battle of the planets. Aka G-FORCE. in Japan they were known as Gatchaman. they aired in japan in 73 then re-edited and premeired in the states in 78. their names were changed to be more american. over the years future episodes were mre-edited and they were called Sban's Eagle riders. etc.

  • Memories

  • this was the dogs bollocks

  • I would love to find this on dvd.

I got the entire collection of Space Acadamy a few months ago at Best Buy. This would be awsome on DVD.

  • The whole series is available on Region 1 DVD as a 3-disc box set. "The Freedom Force", another Filmation series is also included in the set for good measure. I bought mine on E-Bay a year and a half ago.

  • Asrtia was my girl!! I use to break my neck to watch this!! Thanks for posting.

  • Oh yeah, I miss the days of cartoons that were not just 30 minute toy commercials.

  • Mental!! Had forgotten about this. Loved it when I was young.Even asked my mum to get me one of the robots.

    Fantastic memories :)

  • wow! i think i remeber this!

  • u think? lol

  • good lord...i used to watch this when I came home from school,in the late seventies early eighties.

  • Yeah, I remember it was on Tuesdays, right after Cheggers Plays Pop.

  • Lol all that power and he couldn't think of a better name for his maintenance robot than Mo? lol

  • I always remember Sentinel 1 used to scare me as a kid, every time his giant head appeared i'd crap it. Top cartoon

  • rubbish. battle of the planets was oh so teen angst hormone transexual shoit, space sentinels was all about ME! SENTINEL 1! getting one up on whoever was going to mess with him and his gang that day. space sentinels was cooler.

  • There was transsexualism in "Battle of the Planets"? Must've missed it! BOTP had better storylines. I did love Young/Space Sentinels, though.

  • What about Zoltar? He dressed like a woman and was camper than a row of tents.

  • Thank you

    Thank you

  • "Battle of the Planets" was AWESOME, dude!

  • Dont make me laugh!

This was and is far superior to sandy franks

boring "g" force battle of the planets.

Listen to that great synth theme tune

Astria if i ever have a daughter that will be her name i said aged 7.

Oh and that see through 3d head "awesome".

    Filmation forever*

  • How long have i been looking for this, check out the six million dollar man intro on this site....

  • Haven't seen this in 30 years! It was on UK Tv a few months before Battle of the planets; It wasn't a patch on

    BOTP if memory serves.

  • Bite your tongue. Space sentinels was great. True, not as good as battle of the planets but pretty good in comparison. That aside neither Battle of the planets or Space Sentinals have stood the test of time.
