A grade school rant not very becoming of an elected official. Dan Jones acts like a cornered schoolyard bully, using a city council meeting as his personal stage to vent on and insult anyone who disagrees with him. No class, control or decorum. At the end he even sheepishly apologies to the major, stating these are his "personal" views as most of the insulted community audience walks out on him. This is not positive constructive civil discourse, but rather an embarrasing reflection on WBL.
"If we have a chance to reduce that amount (of taxes) we HAVE TO DO IT. It's that simple! " What, Dan? No it is not THAT simple. I live in WBL because I enjoy the high standard of living afforded residents here. I'm not wealthy but am willing to pay higher taxes to help keep WBL the jewel it is. That's why I live here. If I want to pay lower taxes I could move to North St. Paul, where Dan Jones should consider moving. Such myopic thinking does not protect communities, it ruins them.
Dan Jones is simply expressing his personal views on a subject and why he is voting a certain way. All elected officials should learn to be equally transparent!
Well done Dan (even though I disagree with you that a City should operate a commercial business.).
TO ALL YOU FOOLS THAT VOTED FOR DICK SAND,I am not going to waste my time telling you why, unless one of you is inquisitve/intelligent enough to respond.GOD WILLING ofcourse...
Good for Mr. Dan Jones! The guy has the interests of White Bear Lake taxpayers in mind. The actions of the people leaving while he spoke proves what they're all about - THEMSELVES!
