I am currently twenty years old and have Erbs Palsey in my left arm. Because of it, it pretty much just hangs there. I can do day to day tasks but many other things I cannot do. Because of the nerve damage my arm also refuses to grow as long as the other and has given me a baby fold essentially. It looks like I have three segments of arm...
Great job! Our story too. A needless injury. So involved... Horner's syndrome (droopy eye from nerve damage), paralyzed diaphragm (breathing issues), pain issues, getting significantly more sunburned on the affected side, lots of surgeries and endless therapy... The list goes on and on. A living hell. So sorry there are so many of us that have to go through it. God bless you all.
This brought tears to my eyes. My son was 11lbs 9oz when he was born and spent 17 days in the NICU due to merconium and getting stuck. Since he was limp at birth then drugged for a week, his injury wasn't detected until he was a few days old. He is 4mo old and his doctors are very optimistic about his recovery. His only trouble is bending his elbow (he does, but very little) and keeping his hand turned the right way. From researching, and this video, I've learned he is lucky it is not worse.
Thank you for sharing your stories they touch close to home as this too is my story. My daughter is now 6 years old. After alot of physio and a shoulder release surgery she now lives a normal life with minimal restrictions. We do need to spread the word! Good luck to everyone that has been touched by this injury.
thanks for your story video, this is also my story, we live in Italy; always physioterapy and one operation surgery for connect the nervus. thanks! bye
thank you so much for sharing this video! I live in barbados and spend alot of time searching the web to find out more about BPI. Our son Alex is now 4 months old and has started supination. He was given the all clear of surgery. Hoooorah!
Like you, I didn't know about this injury and want to spread the word. More people should know.
