  • very nicely played

  • what shirt are you wearing? Is that a football jersey? If it is, you're as cool as can be.

  • lovely job

  • Played by ear? Omg, that's amazing. Great job.

  • great playing. I enjoyed it heaps, its a change from the usual old screaching violin solos. Can you please tell me the name of the tune.

  • The name of the tune is "The Belfast Hornpipe"

  • whoa!!! thats soo cool!

  • by the way what key are you playing it in? and where did your piano cover go XD

  • B-flat major. Just trying out various configurations of the piano, to get different sound effects.

  • great job! it's not often that i see irish music being played on the piano, i might try this out, simple vamping on the left hand, but simple is great, love the flowing feel of it

  • thanks

  • A great tune beutifully played.

  • I love it! Great job!

  • Thanks rrrRose777. (breslinr)

  • I think that this is a very enjoyable and articulate performance- have to hand to to you, well done!

Do you happen to know where I could get this sheet music as I'm having a lot of difficulty finding a hands-together arrangement and I really would love to learn the Belfast Hornpipe!....?

  • Can't help you with the sheet music I'm afraid. I got to know the tune years ago by ear, then worked it up into something half reasonable on the piano. Glad you like it.

  • Probably might be able to help you with that sheet... send me a message if you are interested.

I have good memories about this melody. I once played it on a flute (blockföte). Very tricky one :)

  • That'd be great thanks. It's really that I need some left-handed accompaniment as well as the tune because I was hoping to play it for a performance and I can't play the tune with just the right hand :P

  • i irish step dance and this i choreographed my own dance to this tune. lolz.

  • Well done. Why not upload a video onto YouTube----of yourself step-dancing e g this tune ?

  • a Myth

  • Don't be so humble! I think it's VERY nice as well. I had never seen a hornpipe played like this on piano!! Good work!

  • You've no need to be humble either. You've already five decent videos to your credit. I particularly like your Tam Lin one (The Glasgow Reel).

  • NICE! How did i miss this one? Thought it was about time for a new video from you, so decided to drop by and check... And sure enough! Great job as usual! :o)

  • Thanks for the favourable and encouraging comments, but I think you're inclined to give ratings which are too generous. For instance the present offering doesn't quite measure up in that I wasn't quite able to achieve normal hornpipe tempo (MM 84 apparently).
