If you want to be a realist, then realize what is going on around you. Let go of religion, politics, and nationality. Look at the entire world and think about what is going on. When you do look without any of that blinding you, then you can see the world again like a child. People just take a moment and at least try. Have a pad and pen and then start writing down how you really feel. Perhaps you can write a song or a poem. Just stay detached from all that and let it flow.

@Kiertiana To be fair most of that is probably just ignorance. If people are taught about religion at all Paganism is not included. It is considered blasphemous to the "major" faiths to pray to the old gods. They just don't care enough to learn the differences between something considered "evil" and beliefs that encouage the same basic principles that their's do. That is where the biggest flaw (imo) is in the major religions. They require only devotion, not a desire for further knowledge.

@1995killswitch honestly, Godsmack is AMAZING, and there is only 2 bands i can think of that are better than them. (One is in my youtube name, the other is another 80's band, any guesses what the other band is?)
@chunks132 Not all of it. He does get most of the ideas, but when they were on tour writing their second album I believe, the entire band had phrases they put in. For the most part, it is a group effort....the way a band should be.

@lilcook67 Very well said! I can't stand people thinking Wiccan and Paganism are satanic and devil worship. I've had to argue many times with people the difference between the pentaCLE and the pentaGRAM. People constantly put them as being the same thing and they definitely are NOT.

@Kiertiana To be fair most of that is probably just ignorance. If people are taught about religion at all Paganism is not included. It is considered blasphemous to the "major" faiths to pray to the old gods. They just don't care enough to learn the differences between something considered "evil" and beliefs that encouage the same basic principles that their's do. That is where the biggest flaw (imo) is in the major religions. They require only devotion, not a desire for further knowledge.

@bikergirl15 So true! It's partly why I don't really have religious beliefs. I suppose I'm Agnostic? I believe there's a possibility there are Gods and such, but not quite sure I believe in God, Jesus Christ and all that. I've went to church as I've grown up. I've went to church as an adult. I've messed with Wicca as a teen. I know there are supernatural forces out there. I also have learned that I can't tolerate going to church with people that are so closed-minded, naive and such hypocrites.

I'm a rocker and I'm also a Christian. Jesus/Yeshua is the best thing that ever happened to me. It's not about church. Church is cool depending on if it's one that will let you really worship, but it's really about simply knowing HIM. Church will let you down in certain ways if you let it. Jesus will never let you down.

@lilcook67 I think he sees the value in music brought to the world from cultures like Native American and Wicca as well as being open minded. I don't think Sully is like a Satanist but rather just open to how other people life and express themselves through music rather than being closed minded. I'm Catholic for one but I totally admire his courage for this.

simply brilliant. sully erna is gr8, i think he is better in godsmack but you cant beat godsmack. only 1 band beats godsmack by the tiniest margine. take a guess who i think that is (youtube name is a hint)

@chunks132 Not all of it. He does get most of the ideas, but when they were on tour writing their second album I believe, the entire band had phrases they put in. For the most part, it is a group effort....the way a band should be.
