I believe some actors/comedians have talent but alot have little yet are still famous & on TV. I cant stand Monty Python & the likes of John Cleese, just not funny, imo just comedy for the middle classes to giggle over a cup of tea or those who are into some just stupid left/right political paradigm.I doubt alot of these actors get there by working hard but are selected or by people in the high in the industry; there are millions of talented actors/comedians out there & you never see them on TV.
@systemanic I like David Jason very much, but here he's acting in a programme written by the "not funny" Pythons Eric, Michael and Terry. I respect your opinion but if you'd like to know mine I do think these guys are talented.
Can't understand why David didn't go on to become one of the Python team. Such a talent. Always get cross when I see people like Derek Jacobi in Hollywood roles DJ would have been 'perfick' in. He really is a national treasure.
The 2 main ideas in this are completely insane....in terms of, if you imagined it as the real world. If you imagined this actually happened....that 'for a silly joke', they have been building a ship instead of a plane, and that fact that for 3 years they have been working on deck chairs that can be used as some sort of flying vehicle, is quite absurd.
THAT'S WHY IT'S FUNNY. LIKE IN A LOT OF THINGS, THE IDEAS ARE FUNNY....AS WELL AS THE ACTING AND FUNNINESS OF THE CHARACTERS AND ACTORS.
I love that the Frenchman kisses Palin so hard on the cheeks, his glasses fall off. (Or that's what seemed to happen, at least. On his face one moment, in his hands the next.) A nice touch.
It's wonderful being able to see this, in any case. Thanks a lot for uploading. x3
It feels quite surreal seeing David Jason working with the future Pythons. I think he should have joined them. That would have been interesting. Still this is a good sketch show.
There is a long list of people who could have been in Monty Python. Tim Brooke-Taylor is probably the most obvious one. David Jason, Bill Oddie, Graeme Garden, Marty Feldman, David Hatch, Jo Kendall, Aimi MacDonald. As I understand it, it was a question of who were available at the time. But what puzzles me is why we don't even see any of the would-be Pythons as guest stars in MP. (I think we can find some of them in later MP-related movies and shows though.)
infact tim brooke taylor appeared in monty python films and appeared with them on the road doing live monty python sets most notable of these being the filmed live at the hollywood bowl and secret policemans ball
fantastic didn't know about this show uptill now

@systemanic Well, in a very similar way, colour-blind people may think that certain rather dull colours are just overrated.
