  • One in a thousand. As in dogs, cats and, people... I was exchanging birds until I found the clever one and that little parakeet was arranging and placing toy kitchen items like plates, knives, spoons etc. on a toy table properly. If a parakeet could do that, this crow can steal a car with that hook. lol

  • Crows are not the most intelligent birds!

They are the most intelligent animals!

  • Wow that's pretty good.

  • A friend of mine looks like a crow and he's really smart too. Now I think it's linked.

  • Okay, that was amazing.

  • ?! WTF the BIRD made a HOOK

  • @mulchefye Next step...HOOKSHOT

  • are you kiddin' me?... what's next planet of the crows

  • ROFL all i can say is..

    "WHATTTTTT?!"

  • OMG PEOPLE.... THE COMMON CROW IS NOT THE RAVEN!!! JESUS CHRIST PEOPLE ARE STUPID..

  • @britters220 Are we done with the monkey/ape problem? Can we not start another similar issue?

  • @3BDRR7MAN

    LOL. awsome <3

  • Yeah crows are very smart they drop nuts from intersection lights and wait for cars to run over and crack the shell. Once its cracked they wait for pedestrian crossing to go green or wait for a red light and pick up the nut. I live in Australia and many people have talked about crows doing smart things like this

  • Impressive...very impressive*Darth Vader voice*

  • it's a crow

and yeah i had one and i can tell you it could even repeat some words and his own name

  • It must be an asian bird...

  • @Marwhisk Asians are stupid

  • @AgentMercer

    people are stupid.

  • I visited my mother's house in Southern California and noticed the crow population had exploded. There was a large gang of crows in her neighborhood. I took a walk around the block and made the mistake of yelling at the crows to be quiet. They followed me all the way home cawing and scolding me from the trees. I was about to get gang jacked by a bunch of crows!!!

  • @2degucitas

    crows arent ravens...

  • @britters220 No, but they are both corvids, from the same family.

  • @2degucitas

same family yes, just like neanderthal and us... BUT NOT THE SAME.

  • @britters220 So glad your Mom beats you to do your homework. She must be proud of what a smartass....um I mean smart person you are!!!

  • @2degucitas

rather be the smartass then the dumbass, thanks for the compliment. XD.

  • @britters220 YOU ARE SO WELCOME!!!

  • That bird must be a shade tree mechanic

  • AWW THAT WAS SOOOOO CUTE

  • Wow, simply amazing! That bird even knows how to make a hook!

Given time, its kind will evolve into another kind of intelligent being like the human.

  • marvellous!

  • wow

  • and somewhere in the world this is considered smarter then the average citazen in a place i shall not mention but we all know ;p

  • Amazing creatures

  • This wonderful bird is a lot more intelligent than a lot of people I know.

  • @nervdamaj I'm an agnostic evolutionist and your comment made me think of the little archaeopterix.

  • They should have this crow do the lock-picking minigame in TES: Oblivion.

  • Amazing!!! But definately filmed using a pinhole camera.

  • Cool. :)

  • smarter than a lof of the people watching videos on youtube.....

  • @PernellDD You are so right.

  • 0:38 you bitch, you said there was food in there!

  • Macedonian crows no? Yeah.. one of the few animals on the planet, besides us, that uses tools. amazing!

  • damn that bird is droppin some crowledge

  • i thought the bird was taking a bong rip

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i hate it when i lock my keys in my bucket

  • All wild animals are smarter than human because they know how to survive in the wild while we are uterly dependant on everything being given to us

  • @username951100 That's because it's in their instincts. Calling that intelligence isn't really correct. We don't inherently know how to survive in the wild because we have formed civilisations and don't have to.

  • @VisserZer0 Actually we do know how to survive in the wild. So well that we formed even formed civilizations.

  • @AJasinski3 Civilisations != the wild.

  • Smarter than the average human, AND CAN FLY!

  • MacGyver :o)

  • that same bird was later found shoplifting at a pet store

  • Motherfucker just not only used tools, but used tools to make more specific tools.

  • all crows/ravens/parrots/jays can do this...people are just now documenting it!

  • wow

  • Planet of the Birds

  • Skill bird

  • WOOO! FREE PEANUTS FROM OUR CROW KINGS :D:D:D:D

  • "most intelligent bird in the world" or maybe all animals are smarter than people think. It's funny how humans are baffled because other creatures, or even other people in the past, can figure out how to use other things to do certain tasks. Why is that so hard to believe!? maybe animals are intelligent creatures too and humans are not the only intelligent things on this planet.

  • @MikeOblay I like the way you think. I believe most humans are highly self-centered to believe that they are the only intelligent life forms in existence.

  • @MikeOblay Once when I was walking a dog, he jumped a fence. I then took up a stick, and threw it over the fence, and the dog went after it like a bullet, and proceeded to bodily crash into the fence without bothering to even try and jump over it, his small little brain could not handle the implications of the fence and the hunt at the same time. Most animals are retarded, we humans are incredibly intelligent compared to them. Even using tools is a feat that is alien to most animals.

  • @megaDudeMegaDude Yeah and the dog was ok, btw, he just looked at me like "-what the fuck, who put that thing there?", he was PWD, so he was really good at looking retarded =)

  • @megaDudeMegaDude Tell me Mr. Dude, how long have you had your dog? since it was a puppy?

  • @MikeOblay No, it was a guy my brother knew's dog, he was about 1.5 years old. But I have had dogs all my life, and while I'll certainly agree that they are a lot smarter than what most people think they are, and can sometimes surprise you with how much they really understand, they don't stand a chance with reasoning and planning compared to a human. And some dog's would have jumped the fence, this one was kind of dumb and overtly excited about all the snow, but you get what I mean.

  • @MikeOblay Humanity always assumed that it was the most intelligent species on the planet because of their ability to use cognitive motor skills and speech, alongside creating a complex society all of their own. They think it's possible because they haven't found any other species on Earth that are capable of such a feat, their concieted nature takes them away from the deeper meaning of things and only come to conclusion based on what they know from face value.

  • @0hvist perhaps we haven't discorvered any other animals with speech because their language is based on the sounds they can make. And though that may not seem like much it is the same that any of us can do. And also remember that there is a language that uses only 2 different sounds, but is understood by a large number of people. Morse code. Also whatever tribes in secluded areas that have come up with their own language that is foreign to us and we think is jibberish, yet they understand it.

  • @MikeOblay It's amazing because we've observed very few species on this planet which actually show the cognitive ability to use tools to solve problems. It's RARE.

  • @MikeOblay Agreed we just happen to have posable thumbs and the power of speach which makes things alot easier. It has nothing to do with intelect.

  • @MikeOblay Animals have always been different, the supposed thing that separates Humans and Dolphins from the rest is that we are capable of "rational" thinking.

  • @MikeOblay the ability to manipulate something with that skill like that animal did to reach that thing, it is a huge step of evolution, and as an example, the humans were homo habilis when they begun to use instruments to their own satisfaction. It is very logical to think that, that bird it is very intelligent, and as we are homo sapiens sapiens (we know that we know) it is very interesting to see how animals lear by trial and error.

  • @Magnuomoliticus they have found plenty of animals that can use sticks to get bugs out of holes. Most of them are primates, but birds have been using various objects to build things. Their nests. Why do people forget that a bird can create something with just their beak that humans can barely, if at all, make with their 2, thumbed hands. That takes incredible intelligence and skill. and some animals don't need tools to do what they need because they have the anatomy to get it done.

  • @MikeOblay You don't know what you are talking about.

  • @vanceatot do you? Your statement shows nothing. Would you like to elaborate?

  • @MikeOblay exactly!

  • @MikeOblay I agree with you.. to some extent. The reason the raven is considered intelligent is because it is able to use tools to retrieve his food which suggests complexity in his problem solving (i.e. a more developed frontal lobe). I agree with your statement because "intelligence" is not easy to universally measure and to be honest, is too broad to a term to descibe animals.

  • @MikeOblay

This crow is part of a experiment, To see how they will react in a situation.

Now what do you think they experiment on us? Do you think all these behavior experiments are to see how crows will react? or to see how they control a animal in to doing certain things?

    Think about adverts and propoganda.

Just who really is the stupid one.

  • @MikeOblay Like anything or anyone at the top, we are out of touch and blinded and bloated with arrogance.

  • @MikeOblay

Amen. I have 3 dogs (first time I ever had dogs), and they are far more intelligent than I was led to believe.

    Humans are terribly arrogant.

  • @MikeOblay where does it say that this bird is the most intelligent 'ANIMAL' in the world?

It just says bird. shut it you dumbass

  • @MikeOblay

if animals were that intelligent would tell us, mayve through e-mail?

  • @njeriuXP Maybe they secretly and silently scoff at our dull ways of communication. Maybe they've already mastered telepathy.

  • @MikeOblay There are very few animals that use "tools" and even fewer that know how to make a tool.

  • Birds will rise...

  • farkkkk what a retarded crow the crows in australia would have just gave up and found something else instead of wasting all that energy

  • If the bird had hands it would have done it from the 1st time =)

  • I wish I knew how to do that!

  • at this rate he could steal a bank!

  • Why is everyone saying this is a crow? Is it not a raven? Im not a bird expert but i was under the impression that ravens where much larger and smarter than crows. The most intelligent thing ive ever seen a crow do is rip open a trash bag and open an old burger container.....

  • @msbensucks The only real difference between Crows and Ravens is that Ravens are physically larger. Both are incredibly smart.

  • @lousyskater That aint true, ravens got emo factor while crows dont :P We can thank Poe for that.

  • @msbensucks It is a New Caladonian crow called Betty, I can't remember where I found this out but I do remember it from when I first saw this somewhere else.

  • 真聰明的鳥~

  • Does anyone happen to know anything about the intelligence of ravens compared to crows?

  • Comment removed

  • @Syzyro Ravens are the smartest in the world and african greys are 2nd, i live in the northwest so i see crows all the time in fact i can hear them cawing right now, ive never thought of them as very intelligent.

  • jajaja let parrots rule the world!! haha

  • This is not actual intelligence, it is merely cleverness.

  • @dlbertain

then i guess it was "cleverness" when our ancestors first did these things and now we're going into space.

  • @dlbertain Cleverness? Really? Do you even know how to define the difference between the two? Knowledge doesn't make you intelligent. The fact that the bird was able to understand and assess the situation and then come up with a solution (in this case through the creation and use of a tool) is the very pinnacle of intelligence. I've met plenty of dumb 'smart' people and plenty of smart 'dumb' people. Intelligence is not directly related to knowledge, like many ignorant people seem to think.

  • @MisterBreezer All I am saying is that even though this bird can use tools and solve problems, that doesn't make it intelligent in other areas. I'm sorry I offended you so much, it is a smart bird.

  • @dlbertain well intelligence is discribed as the ability to recognize and solve problems. as we can clearly see this crow recognized the kind of it its problem and thus solved it.

  • Crows rulez , i'd like to have one instead of my aquarium :D

  • Even politicians could learn from this birdie! lol

  • trained?

  • Yeah, crows are most intelligent birds in the world.

  • Smart Bird !.

  • lift the weight LIKE A CROW

  • Tinky the Raven, everyone.

  • Amazing !!! The thrill of nature, live and uncut. This is the real reality TV.

  • I couldn't stop laughing as i watch this video, these birds are really incredible.

  • king of crows

  • On an episode of TED talks, they point out that this crow is actually a girl. Named Betty.

  • damn.. good game humans. we had a good run.

  • IT'S A REBORN HUMAN :DD

  • Cool. Pretty cool. My name is raven as well I found out y my dad named me that he heard that legend off of a steven segall movie I think the movie was " on deadly ground ". It's where that women is translating an old indian man

  • 11 people are stupid. pfft i dont even know why i try being funny lol

  • I liked the part when there was a crow.

  • Most amazing thing I think I've seen on youtube aside from apes that recognize themselves in a mirror. Inspiring. truly.

  • That was truly incredible. The way it bent it and made the hook was amazing. I hope there's not gonna be a pre- emptive strike against crows after seeing this....

  • @PhysicalsimForever And obumo and his supporters are so dumb that they could not pour piss out of a boot even if the instructions were printed on the bottom!

  • Actually ravens are even smarter than crows. Crows harass ravens all of the time.

  • i prefer ravens.

and i wonder what was in the little bucket that motivated her so much.

  • 11 people are less intelligent than this raven :)

  • O.M.G.

  • i wouldnt have thought of that

  • It's a she, not a he. But yeah, she's a genius, I wish I had crows in my neighborhood.

  • @killertr how can you tell its a female?

  • @DrivebySwordie This is Betty the crow, she is a famous female crow in cognitive behavioral research. She is also the first non-human animal to correctly use 3 different tools in the correct sequence. Youtube search "Betty the crow." She is incredible. The world is full of other intelligent and innovative animals that tolerate our arrogance.

  • @REDNAZOXXX they can talk like parrots, even better than them! and there ARE crows and ravens as pets :)

  • @gregryf Proove. I don't think so. Ravens are much smarter than us. And much cooler and more beautiful I love em!

  • @gregryf so youre saying that youre marginally smarter than a bird?

  • That's not a bird, it's a dog u stupidass

  • That is NOT trial & error.

  • They have no government spending...they ARE smarter than us!!!

  • Can I call this bird to unlock my car in case I forgot the keys inside the car???

  • damn i cant even do that

  • I for one welcome our new crow overlords

  • @zoebiflap better then giant ants ;)

  • I heard the scientists perfoming this experiment forgot to put a hook on the end of that wire. They were blown away when the bird bent the wire itself.

  • @LizardPride if you watch the full version of the video, you see the male bird pick up the wire with a hook, and fly away with it. The female (not male, as the video title says) then flew down, and performed the behaviour shown in the video.

  • @Toxotesmicrolepis Ha, that's even better!

  • velociraptors turned into ravens and crows

  • for all we know the birds might be making fun of how idiotic the humans are O - o o - O lol xD

  • O_O

  • people are silly to think humans are so special. Only in our arrogant, ignorant, egotisical minds are we any more valuable than any other living organism on this planet. We are the most dominant species at the moment, but people don't realize that evolution is still taking place as much as ever. The 250,000 years that Homo sapiens has been around is but a sliver of the time life has existed and the time it will exist on earth. Studies like this prove that our smarts are not so unique.

  • @matthew77899

actually, there is WAY more mosquito than humans right now, and even in advanced country's, they are hard to escape from. D= the earth belongs to the mosquito all hail mosquito!! xD (lol im just fooling around)

  • @matthew77899 yep but we killing of species after species, as if evoloution will save them in time before there is nothing left.

  • @matthew77899 you're comparing a simple use of and problem solving skills of a crow to that of a human? maybe you should perhaps think about what humans have achieved and compare it to what animals have

have any animals (on earth) other than humans on earth created complex physics concepts, developed cybernetics, machines, mathematics, etc...?

  • @tatoot not that we know of, but maybe they think the same things of humans

  • @tatoot Not that I know of, but that doesn't mean we're better, more intelligent or whatnot. Only difference between us (we're animals too, mammals) and other animals is not intelligence or having a soul (animals have it too) etc, but civilization.

  • In his last life, he was a notorious safe cracker who liked to eat a lot of chicken. This is his karma now.

  • If man kind ever discovers the secrets to creating a time machine to go back to the beginning of the world, likened to when we sent a monkey as the first in space may I suggest we send a raven or two first.

  • ...after watching this vid i finally figured out how to unclog my sink!...

  • Not even close to the smartest bird. Check out the New Zealand "kea" that can solve puzzles and work together to solve puzzles. They are quite the pest in New Zealand.

  • @Sionyx only pest is homo sapiens

  • HOLY FUCKING SHIT.

  • @YawnGod either say it to himself or shut your mother fucking rotten mmouth up, stop talking behind him like a pussy face

  • that crow must be RAGING inside his head

  • @yokoprinc I think that crow is just using 1% of it's amazing brain power! Bow down to crows and ravens!

  • Amazing!! Birds are soooooooo underrated!!

  • 9 people wish they could make and use tools like a crow.

  • @YeaWhateverYouSay i thought it was a raven ?

  • @YeaWhateverYouSay hahaha... i agree. 11 people now wish they were as smart as the bird. this bird is awesome.

  • kea is smarter than the crow

  • @polarfour nope. ravens are the most intelligent birds that we know of.

  • the beauty of the nature.

  • It's not only to USE tools, crows even can MAKE tools!

(eg. beding a wire to get a hook or shape a palm leav to get a hook.)

I've seen an intelligence test on TV that shows:

some crows can think 4 steps ahead.

No other animal (neither dolphins or apes) can think more than 2 steps!
