@pr0korora 1&2 were stiff both in movement and combat but weren't buggy at all. Gothic 3 Enhanced edition with the community update resolved all graphic,memory and gameplay glitches to a great extend. Forsaken Gods and Arcania was a mere shitstorm bundled under a Piranha Bytes rushed strategy to please Jowood productions. Same with Risen and the TBA Risen 2.

I just got "Risen" and so far I like it. I have it on Xbox 360 and I haven't had any framerate issues in combat even against multiple enemies. I have a newer version of the 360 so maybe that's the reason. My main issue with the game so far is that you cannot customize your character in any shape or form.

Why are PC players resorting to the retarded things like graphics and bugs when it should be about the gameplay (No offence to PC gamers just pointing this out). Some people have FUCKING common sense like @swordhunter12 but bad gameplay, boring quest, SHIT UI and people still say it is a 9/10. I am sick to my stomach and I hope that Risen 2 will be better and they learn from there mistakes.

But a quest that you sell weed is pretty funny.

Well to be honest Skyrim has graphics problems too, first of \Skyrim does a lot of Normal Mapping if you will look at some pillar on skyrim you'll see theyre flat andonly looking good thanks to normal mapping, secondly Skyrim also has thous graphical gliches if you look at some of the rocks.

Notice how often PC games getting ported to Xbox often get butchered when zero to know effort is really put into changing the User Interface or controls to suit the console. I could tell it was meant for PC. The freaking UI begs for a keyboard and mouse! The graphics were butchered as well. Angry Joe gave it a fair review. It was the Xbox 360 version and it needs to be recognised as shit.

Regardless, at least the sequel will be better supervised with ALL ports! So expect more equal treatment!

I personally like Risen even though it can be buggy. An extremely annoying bug I've noticed is goblins can kill me in one hit. Even at full health, they get close to swing it makes me die instantly. I get so pissed from it.

what he says is true BUT only if u play it on xbox since pc has extremly better grafic, no frame issues at all, much better way of controlling ur character in combact and less bugs (which were only on xbox) and this will change completely ur experience!

One thing that remains an issue for some players is that this is an hardcore RPG noone will tell u exactly where to go and hold ur hand for the entire game u have go and explore urself

@hostelowner I liked it :) the only thing I could say is that it is not extremly original but also in Dragon age Origins which is my favourite rpg (a masterpiece) the story was killing the dragon,killing mosters and darkspawn interact with people (elf, human, dwarf)

actually the story is a bit more original in Risen with lizardmen, giant insects, animals

and the fight between the inquisitor and the thives

@swordhunter12 The weapons and armor are well designed, not boring at all. Except if you are a stupid child who wants edgy-spikey-shiney armor and weapon. In Drakensang there is also good looking stuff. In Two Worlds 2 as well, but that one is a half-made game. Skyrim also looks good. Finally. Morrowind design was gay, Oblivion generic.

There is no problem with the loot or story in Risen. I only hated 1 thing, that I had to gather too many quest items to progress in the story.

@swordhunter12 In Gothic we had to gather 5 teleporter stones from interesting places, in Risen many more and the places were more generic.

Gothic and Risen are hc RPG's, not like today's shitty "Hello Average Joe, you can do anything you want, you can go anywhere, save the world at lvl3, no need for skills, wisdom, experience, practice! Oh, and here are some shiny thingies!" :D

I only recommend Risen (and Gothic 1 and 2 with the expansion; waste no time on 3 or 4) to mature players.

Simple because this is better than Mass Effect 2. A game is only as good as it's in game tutorial and since ME2 doesn't have an ingame tutorial and teh tutorial is in such a place where it's renederd completely useless, that makes mass effect 2 one of the top 3 worst games ever made for total and utter lack of instructions.

Sorry but a game that doesn't even fully explain in great explicit detail how to switch it's weapons, sucks.
