@Tjpepeluis They are the same band though there have been some lineup changes along the way. The constant has always been primary singer and songwriter Ronny Moorings (oddly enough Ronny doesn't sing on this song, which is one of their best). They started as Clan of Xymox with primarily a heavy goth sound. They transitioned to just Xymox and brought in a more electropop angle such as what you hear here on "Imagination" which to me is a bit like crossing Sisters of Mercy with New Order.
@vsander09 And Book of Love but yep - more apparent with Phoenix of Your Hear/Wild Thing, which to me just went a whole diffrent path....ah well, I still like them
I love several songs that Zymox has produced, Imagination !!! Is tottally Alsome! I also love Obsession! This band touches my side of creativity! So Cool. Zymox is a band that really knows how to produce a mistifing creativity not only with their music but with their style too. Thomas Strosnider Pennsyvania
This reminds me of that SpongeBob Squarepants episode where SpongeBob and Patrick were playing in the giant TV box using their "IMAGINATION" and driving Squidward mad.
I'm not even old enough to be considered an adult and this song sends me into an entirely helpless state of nostalgia. It is truly amazing, as is the rest of Twist of Shadows. Few bands, even Clan of Xymox themselves, have been able to achieve such greatness since the release of this album.
An absolutely magical song from an amazing album from Xymox (who switched up their name to just "Xymox" at the time) Twist of shadows exemplified a change to a more assessable musical style but still managed to maintain incredible beauty and depth! It was a true epiphany and re-awakening for the band. Sad times followed, sadly and now the new COX has never come close to upholding the glory days.
just amazing!!! where have all the real musicians gone! what harmonies, what deep feelings. I heard this music when I was a teen. What is left for the poor teens today? How can we explain what means real music?
Absolutely agree. These tracks that get into your soul and make you want to cry. The 80s bought us tracks that made us shiver then and always will. Thank goodness I grew up in the 80s * Xymox are GENIUS +

@dimoswatching
Mainstream is gone mad in the 90ies.
But the people who find their way to the alternative scene, often still find this absolute beauty in music like Dark wave & gothrock. ;)
Awsole video. I always knew it was brilliant, but you really have to see it in HD!
