Christianity is a religion, not a strait jacket. Any faith, and especially one that proclaims itself to be Catholic (or universal), must address the diverse spiritual needs of all its members. The difficulty with separation anxiety is that we don't want to admit it to ourselves and we certainly don't want others to see it. But to heal we have to open this fear out and go back to the beginning in a way and start afresh learing to trust the people who love us when we weren't able for some reason to do that as children.
