i have a friend who lives there and he will go out in the water like that rod an reel no lights and fish.he took me twice snakes gators that is just nuts im going to tell him to take his boat next time.steve you are a wild man

I'm more of a rod & reel guy, but if I ever did go gigging I think I would be wading out with just a big lantern or something to make it at least challenging. This looks too easy.

no.
The laws vary from state to state. I know that in Texas you cannot gig sport fish like red drum and speckled trout. You can gig flounder and black drum.
But some fish are very hard to gig since it is usually done at night and most fish don't let you get close enough to gig.
